Gorgeous Seaside Location

Location, location, location! We split time between Avila and San Luis Obispo and it was a treat to to stay at San Luis Bay Inn. The inn was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and the staff was friendly. Would highly recommend.

Nice location, but dated property.

The amenities were great. The pool area had a nice bbq grill set up. There was a game room with a pool table and shuffle board. Front desk staff was nice. They seem to always be out of pool towels so before you give yours back to trade in for new ones make sure they have clean ones first. We had a studio room with a kitchen. It was very dated. I felt the pictures were somewhat deceiving. The carpet felt dirty - old grimy and grungy. We washed our feet frequently. The door handle to the patio was falling off.

Great location and amenities. Space was smaller than expected

Let me start by saying, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is absolutely perfect. A short walk from the beach but high enough to enjoy breathtaking views. Amenities were also an added bonus. Place has a heated pool, hot tub, games and even an Ocean view room which my kids enjoyed very much. There were a few drawbacks we could have done without. Our place turned out to be a studio and not a 1br as we originally thought. The kitchen table was on the bigger side making the already small space even smaller. It was also super heavy to move which made it hard when we had to pull out the sofa bed. The bathroom had a permanent urine stench that wouldn't go away, even after housekeeping came to desinfect. Thinking it had to do with sewage issues. Aside those few drawbacks, we made it work and had a great time. Next time, we will probably book a 2br just to be sure there's enough space.

false advertising

The pictures for a studio unit are wrong and misleading because they are for 1 bedroom units. When we realized that we got a studio unit, I've asked for a paid upgrade to 1 bedroom unit. The hotel said that they had 1 bedroom units available but they can't change the reservation without approval from Roompicks. But Roompicks didn't want to upgrade and stalled for days (until the end of our trip) when they finally said that they can't upgrade because lack of availability. I've asked Roompicks to fix their advertising but they failed to do so.
