Alquiler de cabaña ubicada en el corazón del norte de California, a 10 millas al oeste de Chester / Lake Almanor en la autopista 36 (a unas 60 millas de Red Bluff, CA, que está junto a la Interestatal 5).

Esta pintoresca carretera durante todo el año es la línea divisoria de las cadenas montañosas Cascade y Sierra Nevada. Esta cabaña se encuentra en el campo entre Lassen Park y Chester (a unas 12 millas del lago Almanor, a unas 22 millas del parque Lassen, una gran pesca no muy lejos en Deer Creek o Feather River).

La cabina principal tiene dos habitaciones (1 cama queen, 2 camas individuales), 1 1/2 baño con cocina totalmente equipada y TV vía satélite. Tiene una pequeña terraza en la parte posterior con vistas a un estanque (que a veces tiene patos salvajes). Además, la cabina tiene una unidad adjunta completamente separada que ofrece un dormitorio adicional (1 cama queen), baño completo, sala de estar con TV vía satélite y mini refrigerador / microondas. Configuración similar a una habitación de hotel.

Tienes una bonita vista de un prado y las montañas desde la cubierta. ¡Incluso puede tener ciervos visitando por las noches mientras se sienta afuera alrededor de la fogata! ¡El cielo nocturno es increíble para los observadores de estrellas!

Comfortable Cabin for Family

We had a delightful two-night stay here. Access to Chester/Lake Almanor and to Lassen made this the perfect spot for us. Helga keeps the place immaculate and well-stocked. Our family especially appreciated the meadow in back, as well as the fire pit for evening conversation.

Great Home Base

We were looking for a home base to explore Lassen Volcanic National Park, and this property fit the bill perfectly. The property itself was quite sufficient to our needs, and we would stay again. There were a few minor annoyances, but they were not enough to overshadow the beautiful surroundings.

Perfect location for visiting Lassen National Park and Lake Almanor

Our family, including our three young kids, had a great stay at Walter's house. The house is well located for visiting Lassen National Park (about a half hour away) and Lake Almanor (about fifteen minutes to the Canyondam boat ramp, where we rented kayaks from Lake Almanor Kayak Rentals). Although the east side of the lake had some nice houses available for rent (and a few good restaurants--Tantardino's and Luciano's), we chose to stay in the Mill Creek area because of its proximity to Lassen. The house had everything we needed for the weekend--a functional kitchen and living space--in a peaceful mountain valley setting. We had nice family meals together and watched some sports and movies on Dish Network in the evenings. We also enjoyed getting to know Walter--he was very responsive and shared interesting stories about the history of the property.

Nice cozy home

Nice and cozy older home located between Mt. Lassen and Lake Almanor. Good quiet place with spacious bedrooms. It's an older home so don't expect anything fancy, but it has all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. Owner was very nice a helpful. We'll definitely be returning in the future.

Lack of basic utilities such as body wash, dish soap and hair dryer. Wifi is very slow. The bedding is not clean either

Beautiful property minutes from chester

The property is very nice, we ate dinner on the back porch overlooking the pond every night. The owner was extremely accommodating to us. I will definitely be staying here again.

Good proximity to Lassen Volcanic National Park

The location is about a 30 minute drive to the south and east of Lassen Volcanic National Park, and about 10 minutes west of Chester, where we had dinner each night and picked up groceries for breakfast each morning. Communication prior to arrival was fine and our host, Walter, was very nice (he stayed in another building on the property). Furnishings were a little dated but neatly arranged. Our family of 5 fit easily with the separate lock-out unit, and it was nice to have two bathrooms. The only real con from our perspective was that there were kind of a lot of bugs - spiders and insects - in the house, enough so that it made us a little uncomfortable. It didn't really cause any problems other than some unease, but we thought it worth mentioning.

This place was quite run down. I knew it would be a bit shabby from the pictures, but it was worse than anticipated. In particular, the kitchen was not cleaned well, dirty pot holders, crud in the silverware drawers. The bathrooms were cleaned well, but the rest of the place was lacking in even basic repair (curtains falling off, kitchen chairs broken) The photo of the pond was especially misleading... it was 1/3 full, mucky, with a neighbors junk behind it... unpleasant to look at. The best thing about the place was it was a decent locations. I would not recommend staying here.

OMG. My mom, her friend, and I drove over 6 hours, in 110° heat, from Yosemite to our Lassen NP VRBO. Once we got near the small community of Mill Creek where the VRBO address was, Google maps sent us right past it. We had to flip a U-ie, and when we finally found it, it was an uninhabitable DUMP! It was a filthy, rundown shack. I was so stressed out and disappointed 😰. There was no way in hell we were staying there. I immediately searched for alternative lodging, and found a Best Western in Chester, 10 miles away. I can’t even begin to describe how gross this place is. My poor mother and her friend. I’m so happy we were able to get into a clean room. I’m reporting this place to VRBO. I want my $687.70 back. I will dispute it on my credit card. I can’t believe VRBO even advertises this dump. Shame on you!

I have reported over many years that Goole Maps hass the address incorrect and as to my fix of this I send a text message to the phone in the reservation profile with an actual GPS google maps location. This takes you exactly to the front door of the cabin. This cabin is located 10 miles west Chester Ca. and is bundled in a 2 mile stretch of cabins. It is sandwiched between the St. Bernard and Black Forest Lodges. It is conveniently located between 2 great destinations (Lassen Volcanic National Park and Lake Almanor) which many people travel to. This year with the water shortage, our outside is not decorated with all the flowers that we have had in the past. Our pond that normally has fish and even wild ducks that normally swim in it is very low and I anticipate it being dry before the end of the year. (This has never happened in 50+ years. ) This place is well maintained, clean and liked by many. We have had many people that have very high standards stay in this cabin and love its simple cabin feel. This is not a fancy modern cabin with high tech amenities.

The bedrooms & bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen not so much. Some of the pots & pans are kind of grubby and need to be replaced. There was old food in the sink. We could see this house was cute & charming a few years ago, but it's getting somewhat tacky with age. The exterior looks very different than pictured on the VRBO site. The flowers and the planter boxes are long gone & replaced by broken concrete. The deck and fish pond are not nice. The WiFi was weak and on again,off again. Small children would have to be watched carefully when outside. The house is not bad, but needs some updating.

Friendly owner, room unclean

One of the rooms that sleeps two had garbage in the wastebaskets, and stained towels in corners of the room. Main cabin, clean, well equipped. Bird poop everywhere on deck, chairs.

Beautiful view, beautiful solitude.

We enjoyed our stay at the yellow cabin, had everything we needed, and so peaceful (except for the traffic noise from the highway). Walter was very helpful and a very engaging host. Our biggest complaint is all the bird droppings on the chairs for sitting outside and the deck railings. Two pictures show flower boxes on the railings - I suggest they be put back up there. A highlight was the buck and baby deer that visited one night.

Lake Almanor cozy cabin

The area is so beautiful. Property is large with lots of things to do on it. Walter, the owner, was so friendly and gracious. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Dennis, the caretaker, was always there to help us. We are ready to go back!

Not accurate

Advertises as two bathrooms with showers. This is not accurate, it’s one full bath and 1/2 bath Advertises sleep six. Bedroom one has a queen bed Bedroom two has two twins. That is only sleeps 4. We are very lucky that we only had four in our group. Other couple had to walk through our bedroom to get to the shower

The description is accurate... and you only rented the "Main Cabin and not the attached unit so you did not have access the door/room. Below is a copy/paste of the description on the web site. " The main cabin has two bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 twin beds), 1 1/2 bath with fully equipped kitchen, and satellite TV. It has a small deck in the back overlooking a pond (that sometimes has wild ducks on it). In addition, the cabin has a completely separate attached unit that offers an additional bedroom (1 queen bed), bathroom, sitting area with satellite TV, and mini-fridge / microwave. There are three rental options: (1) Main Cabin Only: 2-4 people (2) Main Cabin with Attached Unit: 4-6 people (3) Attached Unit Only: 2 people (Attached Unit has NO Kitchen, but does have bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker)"

I enjoyed my stay at Walter's place during my visit to Lassen NP. This place is very close to the southern entrance of the park. Walter was very helpful and provided us with valuable insights for places to visit and things to do in the area. Would love to come back sometime.

Great place to stay

What a charming cabin for our visit to Lassen. Each day we hiked in the park and looked forward to coming back to the cabin for a relaxing evening. We grilled, sat outside and enjoyed our stay. Clean and comfortable! Helga is a great hostess and if we return to the area will hopefully be able to come back to the cabin.

Perfect family getaway home

Very friendly owner! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The owner permitted us to have a family ice cream social. I will definently return to this home.
