About Clint & Karen Koble
We enjoy the great outdoors and adventure. All our lives we have looked forward to travel, resort vacations, and outdoor fun. We especially like a cabin on a lake. It's not only having the option of recreation, it's also that peaceful setting to charge and re-charge your life. We enjoy customer service and we hope we can help you enjoy your next adventure at Lake Almanor!
Clint & Karen Koble purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Clint & Karen Koble chose Peninsula Village
We chose this property because it has everything! It has a great location on the north shore of the Peninsula of Lake Almanor that allows it to get a lot of sun and great views of the lake. Because it is located in Big Cove, it is sheltered from the wind and it provides easy access in and out of the marina. Our Cabin #12 is also part of a quiet resort that has many additional facilities such as a picnic area, boat launch, boat slips, fire pit, fish cleaning station etc. While the cabin is located in a quiet, lakeside setting, it is also near the town of Chester that has many amenities including a hospital. Cabin #12 is only two hours from our home in Reno that allows us to use it ourselves quite often. There are no high passes to cross in the winter time, allowing us to get there in summer and winter. Lake Almanor is a beautiful lake that is not as commercialized or crowded as other lakes in Northern Nevada and California. The lake is a pretty blue and many of its sunrises and sunsets are to die for! It has four great seasons and does not have extremes that are difficult to contend with. What is not to like about this property?
What makes this Cabin unique
We feel there are three major reasons why Cabin #12 is unique for a great stay: 1. COMFORT: We put king and queen size 'pillow-top' mattresses on the beds in the bedrooms. We know how difficult it can be to sleep in discomfort when away from home. With our stays averaging between 3 days and two weeks, we wanted to make sure our guests feel comfortable, day and night. We also put in a large dining room table with padded chairs to make people comfortable while eating or playing cards and games. We added a comfortable leather chair in addition to the couch and other chairs. 2. CONVENIENCE: Cabin #12 is located across the street from the Red Onion restaurant and bar and the Peninsula Market that has an award winning deli and coffee shop. You can cook on the gas grill on the lake view deck or buy breakfast at the Market Deli or have a great dinner and drink at the Red Onion. They are both within easy walking distance of the cabin. Having a free boat launch and slip during your stay makes lake activities convenient for you. Everything you need is within a short walk. If you need more, the town of Chester is less than 8 miles away and Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park is only 35 miles away. There are many many adventures waiting for you within minutes! 3. CONNECTION: Like many places, we offer free wifi. We also offer an office desk and wireless printer to catch up on a few minutes of work while you're enjoying your adventures! For evening relaxation, we installed a 48 inch flat screen Smart TV along with a DVD Blue Ray Player and Apple TV. We know how important it is to be connected these days and we have tried to accommodate your needs away from home.

My daughter and I enjoyed our first time stay at Cabin 12. Loved the lakefront views from many windows and the deck was the perfect place to enjoy meals. We could walk to the market, restaurant and a cute coffee shop so every need was met. The cabin was comfortable and well stocked with kitchen and bed amenities, just like home. We are definitely making this stay an annual trip!
Great little place! Everything was as expected.
Exceeded Our Expectations
A very nice cabin that defies the square footage. This is a very clean and quaint cottage with a charming porch in the front and a great patio in the back. Yes, the bed IS a bit on the soft side but we got over it because everything else was perfect. The boat dock was very convenient but the fishing was a bit slow due to the full moon. We caught 6 fish in two solid days on the water though. Luciano's, the local Italian restaurant, was excellent and we found the owners to be quite charming as well. We went there twice. We stayed for 7 days and were the only guests there for 5 of them. It was weird being alone there ... Kind of nice.
We will be back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean and cozy. Kitchen has everything you need for meals and restaurants were close by also. My husband loved the convenience of the boat slip. It was very quiet this time of the year but in the summer there would be a lot of activity.
Cozy comfy. Great view of the lake. Love Peninsula Market and coffee shop across the street. We'll be back next year.
Wish now we could of stayed longer
Several dining options nearby include nice restaurants, delis, coffee shops, & fast food. Mount Lassen Volcanic National Park is only 35 miles away. There are three golf courses in the area. Lake Almanor offers boating and fishing activities. Boat, kayak, jet ski, paddle board and canoe rentals are available in the cove. Enjoy miles of bike paths and mountain biking trails. Cabin #12 is located in Almanor Lakeside Resort with private lawn and picnic area. Stay includes free boat launch and boat slip.
