We never tire of exploring Island Park, Idaho and recently fell in love with and purchased Papa Bears Cabin. It is a fabulous location, secluded, walking distance to Island Park reservoir and just a short drive to amazing outdoor adventure; Yellowstone Park, rafting down Big Spring river, fishing, wildlife photography and more! It is the best place on earth.
Yellowstone National Park, water skiing on Island Park Reservoir, snowmobiling, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, site seeing and many more...especially peace of mind.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our recent stay at Papa Bears' Cabin. The teepee was a huge hit with the kids, and all of us enjoyed evenings around the fire pit. Everyone was very comfortable and were not ready to leave when the time came! We will always remember the great time we had here. Thank you for such wonderful accommodations!
Papa Bear's Cave and Baby Bear's Den was a great place for our family to stay during our recent family vacation. Our four families, total of 18 people ranging in ages from 4 to 71, had plenty of beds and space. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen was very functional. There was an amazing array of small appliances that came in very handy. We especially loved the large electric griddle and crock pot. We drove into Yellowstone Park several days, it's about a 30 to 40 minute drive to the West Yellowstone gate. We also enjoyed driving the scenic Highway 47 to Upper and Lower Mesa Falls and we loved going into Big Springs and going on the lovely nature walk there. The kids had a great time playing on the property and watching the prong-horns out the windows. Very peaceful.
Our family of 14 (7 adults and 7 children-ages 2 to 11) had a wonderful time in Island Park at Papa Bears Cave & Baby Bears Den. The cabin is located in a gated subdivision so security was very good. The cabin is some distance from the turnoff point at Highway 20---about half the distance is on a paved road and the other half on a well-maintained rock surface road. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive the distance from the cabin to the Highway 20 intersection. The cabin is in excellent condition and has been well maintained. It is also very well stocked/provisioned. The kitchen is particularly well stocked with dishes, silverware, pots/pans, etc. We enjoyed all the activities available at the cabin--hot tub, kids games, fire pit for smores, gas grill, etc. All the equipment in the home was in good working order. We rented jet ski's one day and there is boat ramp in the subdivision a short distance from the house which allowed us easy access to the reservoir. We traveled to Yellowstone National Park, a drive of about 30-40 minutes from the property to the West Yellowstone entrance. There are lots of other family-oriented activities in the area as well. The owner has been very responsive from the beginning of our reservation through the final day of our visit. He was easily accessible via email and telephone. We would definitely recommend the cabin to others and we would love to go again sometime in the future.
We loved the cabin and the location. It was great, being so close to the reservoir and with good access to West Yellowstone and the Park. We rode four wheelers and enjoyed the roads. We walked alot and it was fun to just enjoy the beautiful views. I was amazed at how well stocked the cabin was with everything you needed. Having two fridges was nice. Hot tub was really fun, we all loved that. As others have said the beds were very comfortable and that is a big plus. We definitely would recommend it and hope to return again. Thank you we really enjoyed our stay. We do have a son in a wheelchair and it was a bit of a challenge with the different levels on the deck. The shower on the main floor was hard for him but everything else worked great.
We loved every minute of being in this beautiful area and home. It was a great time for us to be together as family with plenty of room. I was a little worried until one of the kids noticed the bedroom in the garage. It was perfect. Thank you so much. Loved every minute of our stay there.
Papa Bear's Cave and Baby Bear's Den was the perfect location for our reunion with friends. We had 4 families (20 of us) age 2 to age 57! The house was amazing, it was clean, well stocked and the beds were all comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone. My granddaughters age 2 and 4 loved the little room beneath the stairs to play in. The college age kids loved the hot tub, volley ball, and fire pit and the middle age parents loved sitting on the porch relaxing and catching up. The views were amazing especially at sunset, On July 4th the fireworks could be seen from the back deck and went on for 45 minutes to our delight. The lake was fun and we took many walks in the area. We did lots of day trip sightseeing to Yellowstone (the entrance is a 30 minute drive). We also took a float trip in the Grand Teton (2 hour drive) then travelled up through Yellowstone again. Some went White water rafting and zip lining in Montana, and we enjoyed the beautiful waterfall about 20 minutes to the south of Island Park. We loved watching the bears at the museum in West Yellowstone also. Craig Farmer was excellent to work with and answered many of my ?? before we arrived. I would highly recommend this property and wished I was not a long plane ride away so I could visit every year. Thanks Craig for offering this beautiful home as a vacation rental we had a wonderful time!
