Great property and jump off point to Yellowstone
Had a great time at the property. House was clean and comfortable, the dock was fantastic, caught 20 trout one night and docked two waverunners from the local lodge another day. Campfire area was great for s’mores and ghost stories and the size of the house was perfect for our party of 9 adults and 9 kids. 30 minute drive into Yellowstone. Saw bears, elk and deer around the resovoir. Kitchen was big, bigger than the pictures make it look, and was large enough to accommodate multiple people making meals.
So glad you took full advantage of all that is around. Please come again!
Fantastic waterfront vacation paradise!!!
This property was everything it was claimed to be, and more. All members of our family were quite pleased with the space, accommodations and cleanliness. The owners were ready, willing and able to fulfill any and all special requests that we had with the use of the property, and issues that did arise were quickly and effectively resolved to our utmost satisfaction. I would encourage anyone to use this property for their vacation.
We spent numerous days going to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, as the house was a quick 30 minutes to the west entrance of Yellowstone. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of trails for hiking and ATV riding, starting within a few minutes from the property, and going for miles and miles. There are a multitude of other activities, such as horseback riding, fishing and rafting, to name a few, within reasonable proximity to the property.
To sum things up, this location provided our family with an unforgettable and thrilling vacation!!!
We loved having your family. We try our best to accommodate our guests and whatever may arise. We do feel so fortunate for all of the activities we have around us and the beauty that can be enjoyed. So glad you enjoyed all that the area had to offer. Please come again.
beautiful location, well suited to our large family
We had a wonderful time at the lake house. While it was a good drive to the Yellowstone scenic areas (no thanks to the traffic delays caused by the bison), it was all gorgeous. We took a lake pontoon boat ride and went horseback riding at a nearby ranch. this trip was a bucket list checkoff!
We loved having your family. So glad you were able to enjoy some of the activities that Island Park has to offer. The bison are fun to see!!!
Glad the facilities worked for your family. Loved to have you again!
Fantastic house and property!
We rented 3 houses on Bill's Island for a family reunion with 28 adults and children. The O"Toole house was beyond our expectations. The key pad on the garage made it easier for people in other houses to stop over even when everyone was off taking a tour of Yellowstone. And the house was beautiful. The two ovens were a bonus for cooking large meals and the two dryers in the laundry room helped keep the beach towels ready after swimming. Everything was perfect and Lori and Shane were great to work with on reservations and answering questions before we arrived. It was a terrific reunion! Ann Nichols
We are so glad that you enjoyed your time and that you found the facilities accommodating for your family. We understand large families and some of the necessities that are needed to keep things running. Glad you found them useful too. Please come again. We love when memories are made at our cabin.
Beautiful water front property
Our 4 families have stayed in Island Park for 7 years now. We've stayed in 7 different cabins and this was one of our top picks! The owners made it so easy to stay in their beautiful cabin. The water was the biggest hit. Bill's island is small, cozy and we had a great time at the local restaurant.
We are so glad that you had a wonderful time. Loved having you and hope you come again.
Beautiful in every way!

We loved having your family. Thank you for coming and please come again.
The Heart of Yellowstone/Teton Country
Only 20 miles from Yellowstone National Park, some of the same natural forces that once made Yellowstone National Park so scenic also made Island Park similarly beautiful. Island Park sits in the world's largest caldera, 23 miles in diameter, created from a volcano that collapsed in prehistoric times. Now covered in a dense forest of pine and wildflowers, it is popular for hiking and fishing in the summer and cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. The Henry's Fork of the Snake River is world famous for fly fishing, and is curtailed here to form the 7,000 acre Island Park reservoir, popular to both anglers and boaters. The Henry's Fork then winds through the meadows of one of Idaho's most premiere state parks, Harriman State Park, also known as the Railroad Ranch.
Island Park is a rustic area with many ranches and guest lodges where you can fully experience the atmosphere of the region. A most rewarding side trip in route to Island Park is the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway. Mesa Falls is 65' high and can be viewed from an observation point high above the falls. Upper Mesa Falls is 112' and has a network of viewing platforms, as well as a visitors center.
Just before the Montana border, you will find Henrys Lake and Henrys Lake State Park. Located only 15 miles west of Yellowstone National Park, this high mountain lake is the kind of place fisherman dream about. The state park is open in summer and fall for anglers to fish for cutthroat, brook and rainbow-cutthroat hybrid trout. Another source for the Henry's Fork comes from Big Springs, where 120 million gallons of water bubble up into the water each day. The Big Spring Nature Trail, six miles north of the Island Park Ranger Station, is a half-mile, handicap-accessible trail that provides great viewing of osprey, bald eagles, waterfowl and an occasional moose, deer or muskrat.
