Precious cottage with an Angel's View

Overlooking the first Salmon Pool of the Cheticamp River, bordering the Highland National Park, and minutes away from the Acadian French village of Cheticamp, this jewel will please your soul.

Appearing to be remote, the active village is just 2 minutes away with drug store, grocery, beauty shops, gift shops, bakeries, museums, whale tours etc. But at the cabin you are surrounded by privacy of trees, mountains, and the Cheticamp River. Two blocks away is the Gulf of Saint Lawrence where the Cheticamp River spills into the salty beach.

The cabin is small but the view is large. Offering a full view of the Cheticamp River and Highlands National Park is your ever changing view. We watch moose, bear, deer, coyotes, chipmunks, squirrels, and eagles as they cross the river and forage the flora. Enjoy evening camp fires in the fire pit. Canoe the river at high tides or just sit and relax on the lawn with a view worth Angel's wings.

Inside the cabin is comfy sofa and chairs, Flat screen TV, DVD player, CD player, full kitchen and standard bathroom.

Fishing is fly reel only from the pool up. It is a scheduled river so 'catch and release'. You can trout fish also.

This is our private cabin so we maintain it with the comforts we expect for daily living.

We have outside amenities such as Bar- B- Que, , Fire Pit, Picnic tables, and outside chairs.

cottage for 2 available for larger families.

I am dog friendly. If you have a dog you want me to consider, please tell me the age, size and breed when inquiring to this listing

About Jacqui

My husband Lee and I have 3 children and 3 grand children. We are retired (sort of) in Myrtle Beach, SC and are able to share a couple of rental properties with you.

They are our get-aways so furnished comfy. We enjoy golf, oceans, rivers, beaches, mountains and wildlife viewing.

Our partners Reg and Linda live in Ontario and winter in Florida. Their passion for the water and nature keeps them active in rivers, lakes, and oceans too.

Jacqui purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Jacqui chose Nova Scotia

We fell in love with the cool summers, moose, mountains, whales and rocks found in Cape Breton. When your view and property border is the Highland National Park, you know there will never be a commercial sign or neighbor in your front yard..Just nature at it's Glorious best.

What makes this cabin unique

By far seeing wildlife cross the river is a highlight. The cottage sits up on a ridge 20 feet above the river. This allows you to view wildlife as they go about their normal life. This ranges from moose, bear, deer, coyote, muskrat, beaver and the majestic bald head eagles. Canoeing the river and fishing is a calming past time. Then hiking the trails or just driving through the mountains is spectacular! The friendly French village is charming and unique.

Outstanding view!

  • 5 of 5

Ten Points Down was a great experience -- a very cozy cabin with a terrific view. It was very easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings, and everything you might need is right there. The location is also great for access to the park. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would not hesitate to spend more time at this wonderful property.

A perfect October destination!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in mid-October. Though the weather did not cooperate and we had a fair bit of rain and got to experience the famous Les Suetes winds, we had a great time, The cottage is very comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and the view of the national park and the mountains is awesome, especially when the the leaves are turning. Fairly secluded, you barely know there are are other houses around as the cottage is on a bluff overlooking the Cheticamp River and the park. Yet we were so close to the restaurants and entertainment of Cheticamp 10 mins away and just a 5 minute drive to the main entrance to the park. The park is fantastic with great views and hiking trails. The wildlife is a top attraction although due to weather the animals seemed to keep a low profile on this trip. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place for my family

  • 5 of 5

My family includes my husband and 2 children, 22 yr old son and 17 yr old daughter. The second bedroom has 2 twins- one an extra long. My 6'2'' son was thrilled that he "fit" in his bed. There is a very nice gas grill and a fire pit which the family loved to sit around in the evening. There are walking trails right outside the house. The location is unbeatable for easy access to the best hiking trails in the park. We used it as a base to do all of Cape Breton with the exception of Louisburg, which we skipped because of time constraints. After driving to Ingonish, I was glad we were staying in Cheticamp. There is a laundromat in town- 2 doors down from Tim Horton's behind the car wash. The kitchen has oven, stove, microwave and all utensils. You will need to conserve water as the cabin is on a tank and you will drink bottled water, but it is not as difficult as it sounds. We are comparatively spoiled and we did fine. There is a co op in town. We stocked up in Antigonish and filled in what we needed at the co op. There is a seafood shop that sells lobster already boiled- very handy. Keep the bird feeders filled and watch the arial display.

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cottage for a week on a motorcycle trip. In a word....fantastic. This cottage was very well equipped and the owners were a pleasure to deal with. Very nice furniture and comfortable bedding. It was in an ideal location at the entrance to the park and the Cabot trail, but off of the main road and extremely quiet. The grounds were extremely well kept with access to a canoe for use in the river below, fire pit, lawn furniture and bbq grill all provided. We had a bald eagle visit us every day. LOVED IT!

Beautiful View!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Angel's View for a week in early June of 2010. This was really getting away from it all, and we loved it! The view is absolutely gorgeous, and we saw moose nearly every day at the river and even a mother moose with her new baby. We also saw lots of birds, deer, and a bald eagle! We could not take our eyes off of the view! The cottage caretaker, who lives in town, was also very helpful and nice! He made sure all of our needs were taken care of, and also filled the bird feeders where we had squirrels, chipmunks, hummingbirds, and much more! There are many things to do in the area - hiking in the national park, walking on the beach, and driving the Cape Breton Scenic Drive, all of which were fantastic. We had fresh seafood (mostly the lobster which was in season) several times during the week, and it was wonderful. The house was on the smaller side, but was very clean and well taken care of. We will definitely come back in the future.
