Perfect for couples, families, fishermen, and anyone who wants to relax and enjoy life and the beauty that surrounds. It's tucked between the Croatan National Forest and the Newport River Bay.
Unique to this property are the rustic log cabin walls, hardwood floors, a wood burning fireplace and comfortable chairs for an ideal retreat. Find open common areas, a fully-furnished kitchen, and a large waterfront deck. Views of sunrise, shrimp boats, and crab point across the bay are admired from big picture windows and the deck. A platform tree house is built in a large oak tree next to the deck.
The 150 foot private pier is for fishing, shrimping, crabbing, kayaking, or watching egrets, crabs, and other native North Carolina wildlife along the protected coastline.
Main level of the cabin. Large water-facing picture windows in open living area and kitchen/ dining areas. Magnificent view of the water. A large full bathroom and the master bedroom are on the main level.
Two bedrooms, a large bathroom, and an open social area. The upper level balcony in front of the bedrooms also has a waterfront view. The upstairs social area and bedrooms overlook the lower level living area.
Note for boaters: At the pier, there is no ladder into the water, and the water depth at low tide at the end of the pier is only inches of water. During low tide, the pier may not be accessible by water for motorized boats, and may be grounded if docked. The entire river basin is two to six feet deep, and best suited to kayaks/canoes or smaller low drafting boats.

Owners Scott Wyckoff and Natasha Wyckoff are continuing the dream of their mother to create a beautiful peaceful retreat for all to enjoy. The cabin is on the waterfront, tucked in the Croatan National Forest near Mill Creek.
Natasha purchased this Cabin in 2002
Why Natasha chose Harlowe
Our mother chose this area for the waterfront, open land, and privacy. She and others spent 4 years building this cabin. Susan labored over cleaning up the land, rebuilding the pier after a previous hurricane, selecting and cutting cedar wood to create the cedar closets in the bedrooms, and finding the perfect hardwood flooring to further beautify her cabin.

Sports & Adventure Activities
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family.
Beautiful cabin, the view of the water was breath taking. Big yard, Perfect for frisbee or wiffle ball. Nice tree house for kids and grown ups!! House was well equipped with everything to cook a big meal. Inside of cabin well maintained. Sleeping availability was very good. Will definitely be back in the summer.
Just what we needed...
The relaxing and well-appointed cabin faced a beautiful sunrise each morning. Fishing off the dock did not disappoint my family with their catch and release time in the mornings. I baked cookies, made soup, watched some brainless TV and got much needed sleep. We made several trips for shopping and dining on the waterfronts of Morehead City and Beaufort. The Nuesiok Trail hikes we did were very nice. And that back porch was the best napping I have had in ages. Thank you Natasha!
Beautiful view and cozy home
House is a short drive from anything you can think of to do ... beach, ferry services, shopping, restaurants. The view is beautiful and area is peaceful. Very friendly neighbors.
Beautiful home and land! Natasha was very easy to work with and i definitely recommend
Clean, secluded, & great view.
The cabin has a wonderful view. We enjoyed sitting on the deck & looking out into the ocean. It was clean & close enough to Atlantic Beach. The only complaint we have would be that the smoke detectors kept going off. The maintenance staff was quick to respond & fix the jssue. Over all, we give it 2 thumbs up.
Best vacation ever!!
Let me first say, this cabin by the water is everything and more! The location is serene, the neighbors are wonderful, Ray and Debbie next door are just some of the warmest people you will ever meet. We went for a week with my husband, 2 daughters, my mom, my father in law, and my brother in law. Never once did we feel like we were on top of each other. We had a few small maintenance issues but Ray and Debbie were always right there and on top of it. It's only about 20 minutes or so from Morehead City and then a few more minutes to any of the beaches. Fort Macon beach was probably my favorite personally. Overall, our trip was incredible and we are looking forward to being able to come back for another week soon! Thanks again Natasha for sharing your moms home with us!
Atlantic Beach and Fort Macon State Park are just 20 miles away for the ocean beach and the fort. At Fort Macon, enjoy fishing, hiking, picnics and swimming as well as touring the old fort. Morehead City and Beaufort boat cruises will escort you to the famous Cape Lookout lighthouse as you sail among diving dolphins and by the island wild ponies. Experience deep sea diving for spectacular views of coral reefs and shipwrecks along the Crystal Coast.
