About Natasha

Owners Scott Wyckoff and Natasha Wyckoff are continuing the dream of their mother to create a beautiful peaceful retreat for all to enjoy.

The cabin is on the waterfront, tucked in the Croatan National Forest near Mill Creek.

Natasha purchased this cabin in 2002

Why Natasha chose Newport

Our mother chose this area for the waterfront, open land, and privacy. She and others spent 4 years building this cabin. Susan labored over cleaning up the land, rebuilding the pier after a previous hurricane, selecting and cutting cedar wood to create the cedar closets in the bedrooms, and finding the perfect hardwood flooring to further beautify her cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

Peaceful retreat

We had a wonderful visit to the cabin!! Amazing views, great yard and perfect amount of space! We were able to get to the beach and visit some local spots quickly and also come back to the cabin for some piece and quiet. We brought some outdoor games with us for some added fun. Would definitely recommend to others. We’ve been home for a day and wish we could go back!

Gorgeous Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our getaway before our school year begins. It was quiet and serene but within short drives to all the action. The cabin itself is large and well suited for a large family, unfortunately, our family was unable to join us so was extra roomy for the two of us. We took advantage of the Cryatal Coast and all it had to offer. We will definitely book again if we chose to vacation here again.

Loved the view and the owners were very responsive to our request and/or concerns while we were there. Told owners of some repairs that had not be brought to their attention and they said they would be fixing those. Would rent from them again and we met their care takers and one of the maintenance crew both were very nice and concerned that we had a good time. The view and quietness was just amazing. Grandchildren loved the tree loft and the dock where there were hundreds of crabs of all sizes and birds. Watched the fireworks for the dock it was great. Thanks

Relaxing and Charming Oasis

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this cabin during our stay to visit places along the Outer Banks. It had everything we needed! The kids loved the tree house and played forever outside with the bat and wiffle ball they found. We even tried our hand at crabbing off the dock and caught 4! TV was never turned on! Ray and Debbie next door were most gracious and knew what we needed when we arrived. We plan on visiting and staying here again! We absolutely loved it!

Peace, Tranquility & Quiet

  • 5 of 5

At the last minute we decided to get the cabin retreat for a long weekend. Luckily, we were able to accomplish that. What a blessing that was.

The setting of the cabin is absolutely wonderful. Cool breezes and cool nights. The first thing we did was turn the thermostat off. Secondly, we opened the windows then gathered firewood in case it became too cool at night.

Next we made ourselves at home. The home is very well appointed and we lacked for nothing in kitchen or anywhere else. Taking the time to read material on the walls, we became better acquainted with our host's.

Let me just say this now, Susan's influence is felt everywhere in this marvelous cabin. Take time to look at the shelves. Look at the other fascinating objects that can be found throughout this gem.

We were fortunate to meet the couple next door. What marvelous folks.

We played wiffel ball in the yard, then enjoyed the crouquet competition in the yard. If folks are looking at this home as a possible destination, the yard is great for family games (as are the games that are provided inside).

We found the drive to Morehead City to be quick (15 minutes) The farmer's market (many) were wonderful, as were the people working in them. The produce was great. Fresh strawberries!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, we will be returning to this cabin at our earliest convienience. BDP
