We have a 3 level building with the 1st floor being a | Sushi | Asian | Hibachi | Bar | restaurant. The 2nd floor has a bathroom and a beautiful kitchen and living space. And the 3rd floor has the 3 bedroom and 1 bathroom. You have a beautiful overlook of the river and a 15 min drive from the famous Illinois Starved Rock State Park. This is the perfect opportunity for families, friends and large groups to enjoy. Whether you are hiking at the local parks.

We had a great time here! The host, Joe, was awesome and helped us with everything we needed. The downstairs restaurant was fantastic, and the bar next door was fun. I’d recommend this place to everyone!

Hip Place Near State Parks

This is a great place to stay above a tasty sushi/hibachi place. Its a short drive to Starved Rock, Mathiessen, and the IM Canal.

Second Stay

We found this place a few years ago and loved it. When we realized it was open for a last minute Mother’s Day weekend trip we jumped on it. What a great place. Unique, interesting, with plenty of room for everyone. We’ll be happy to stay again in the future.

My number one complaint would definitely be the large cockroaches that infested this home. Other than that, parking is good during the day but bad at night due the restaurants and bars nearby. The bars were also very loud at night so be prepared for that. The kitchen and finer details of the home could use work. Hard to find bath towels, half the light bulbs didn’t work, a nail sticking out of the floor in the living room, just little inconveniences that we dealt with. The host was kind and responsive. The outlook over the river was nice.

Such a fun time!

My girlfriends and I met in the middle (Peoria & Chicago) for a fun girls weekend; the place was so cool and there’s a fun bar next door. We ventured out to dinner at Thyme in Lasalle; would definitely meet there again.

Great View, Spacious Apartment

We had a great time visiting the area and this apartment fit us perfectly. The owner was available and easy to contact, and the space was surprisingly quiet despite being located directly above a restaurant. (Side note, the sushi/hibachi restaurant was fantastic; We ate there twice and thoroughly enjoyed it!)

We only used the apartment to sleep and shower. We spent most of our time at a family member's house nearby. The apartment was clean and had plenty of towels. I only found one washcloth, so it would have been nice to have more. We just used hand towels instead, so no big deal. It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. We didn't use the kitchen, but the counter would be nice to entertain, if needed.

Great location, place was as advertised - host was fantastic!

Stayed here with 5 total guests. Three bedrooms and the couches were perfect for a group of bikers! There was also an inflatable mattress which was VERY comfortable. Plenty of room. Lots of counter space. Modern amenities in the kitchen. Two ovens! The place is above a the owner's Sushi restaurant. We ate there twice and it is pretty excellent. There is a bar next door with live music and a HUGE patio. It has a full kitchen and the food was great there as well. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Nice stay near starved rock

We stayed here for my daughter’s birthday, as we were taking her to grand bear lodge. The place has a really cool feel and plenty of room for the family. Everything appeared very clean and organized. The only issue I came across were a few large bugs. I wasn’t too surprised considering it is directly next to the water, and I did let the owner know. Otherwise the stay was great, easy communication and access to the area. Wasn’t able to try to sushi restaurant since they were closed for a vacation but it sounds like it is a great place to eat. Overall a good trip! Would recommend

Nice Place, could use a few updates

The place overall is very cool. Its an older building but was clean and mostly updated. There are a few things in the bedrooms that are kind of weird like light switches that are cut wrong and overlap and windows that aren't completely finished out. Beds are okay but not the most comfortable I've experienced on a VRBO. The atmosphere of the place is cool overall and could be an awesome place to stay with just a few small updates to some of the cosmetic things in the less trafficed areas.

Cool place, but had a few deal-breakers

This was SUCH a cool space. We were enthralled when we got there and were in awe of the "cool" factor! But we ran into some snags... 1. The downstairs shower had no hot water...or so we thought. After much trial, error, and frustration, we figured out that if we ran hot water in the bathroom sink, we could get hot water in the shower. But only a light drizzle. Running the hot water in the sink took away from the water pressure in the shower. 2. Trying to get the ceiling fan on but the attached light off was a challenge in the back bedroom. We had to perform quite a balancing act to get to it. Longer cords would be much more convenient. 3. While cooking breakfast Sunday morning, we opened the microwave to discover a moldy, smelly container of queso. It smelled so bad we were afraid to use the microwave for fear our food would absorb the nasty smell. 4. Based on the microwave, the windowsills, room corners, closets, etc, the cleaning prior to our arrival had only been surface. We weren't comfortable using the couch covers or the blankets provided in the front room.

I’ll begin by saying that the host was very easy to work with and responsive anytime that I contacted him. The typical response time was not even two hours. We were there to attend a wedding, and he graciously allowed us to check in early so that we could get ready. Outside of a slight mistake in the door code, the check-in was very seamless. The main floor was nice and cool and, although it was not upstairs, there were plenty of fans. There was a variety of bath towels available, and the beds were adequate as far as comfort goes.That being said, the cleanliness was not even close to the average I’ve had in rental properties. I, my daughter, and my son are all fairly allergic to dust and just about every surface of the apartment (with the exception of the sinks, showers, and kitchen counter) were covered in a thick layer of dust. Additionally, we found roaches in the main level bathroom and several in the entryway between the restaurant and the apartment as we got home from the wedding. We typically stay in rentals whenever we travel as a family, because I have two adult children with significant others and we enjoy being together when we are not off property. Because of this, I’m willing to spend a little more to have space for us to be together. Given the cleanliness, I would say that the price was certainly not worth it.
