Welcome to my 'Desert Dream' ~Vicki Butler, Owner

Your vacation starts with a very well appointed, fully furnished home. I have taken the time to provide you the things that make a house a home. Luxurious beds and linens, Direct TVs, hi-speed wireless Internet, washer, dryer, and a well equipped kitchen await you. As you move to the outside, the beautiful panoramic view of the Catalina Mountains serve as a backdrop for your private, saltwater pool & spa, outdoor dining, BBQ grill, covered patio, and elevated sun deck. Inside or out - life is but a dream.

As the owner of this home, I wanted to create a haven for myself and my family. Coming from Alaska, I find that Tucson not only warms my body, but my heart and soul. I come to rejuvenate, relax, and shed the burdens of daily life; and, let the calmness of the desert embrace me. It truly is my Desert Dream.

Things to Do: Enjoy hiking and biking the numerous mountain and city trails, or experience world class golf at one of the numerous golf clubs sprinkled throughout Tucson. Maybe you'd like to watch the desert bloom in the Spring! Or see the Arizona Diamondbacks during their Major League Spring Baseball Training. Come on down for the famous Tucson Gem & Mineral show, or visit the local wildlife and gardens at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (my personal favorite!). Need more ideas: Tombstone, The Copper Creek Mine, Reid Park Zoo, Aircraft Boneyard, Biosphere II, and the beautiful 1700 Spanish Mission: San Xavier del Bac (another personal favorite of mine!). Want to cool off? See Tucson underground via Kartchner Caverns State Park or Colossal Cave Mountain Park. Or just stay home and plunge into the salt water pool, or enjoy a relaxing massage from the spa. Afterall, it is your 'Desert Dream.'

Where to eat.: There are so many restaurants sprinkled about Tucson. Want to stay close to home? There is plenty of offerings at the Thunder Canyon Brewery at the Foothills Mall - I like to go there for their tasty burgers! Stationed at the curb in front of Walmart off of LaCholla is the World Sports Bar & Grill. Here you can enjoy a meal and watch your favorite sports team offered on one of their many T.V.s Interested in pizza or a sandwich? Try another personal favorite of mine, Sauce, located on the corner of Ina & N. Oracle Road. Right next door you can stop in for a desert of gelato at Frost (voted #1 as Tucson's favorite gelato). Looking to celebrate a special evening? Then Wildflower may be the place to go! Do make reservations ahead of time during peak season's. If you were to ask me what is my #1 favorite place for breakfast or lunch? Then I would hands down tell you to go to Tohuno Chul Bistro (located off of Ina), where you can sit outside under the shade of an umbrella, and enjoy a delicious meal while watching the local wildlife flit about the flowers and tree's. I consider Tohuno Chul to be the butterfly and humming bird haven!

Looking to explore a little further out? You could head down to the University area and taste all of the sandwich shops and exotic fare. Or go downtown for Cafe Poco Cosa with its imaginative Mexican cuisine. The J Bar Lounge or La Pasada for happy hour with a view. Other popular hits are the La Encantada Mall for Ra (sushi), NoRTH (modern Italian cuisine), Blancos (tacos & tequila), Blue Fin (seafood) and you can always pop into AJ's (excellent fine foods grocer). For the best pancakes in town, you've got to drive down to BoBo's - the all American greasy spoon. Try Frank's for breakfast with an attitude. Viavace is always a top dining choice.

And don't forget your own backyard. Fire up the BBQ and throw some steaks or seafood on the grill.

About Vicki Butler, Owner

Living in Alaska for 30 years, it was time for me to find a place to warm up and feel the sun in my face. Currently travel and teach classes & workshops for meditation, crystals, essential oils, and more!

Vicki Butler, Owner purchased this house in 2009

Why Vicki Butler, Owner chose Casas Adobes

When I visited Tucson, I fell instantly in love! With an abundant amount of sunshine almost daily, the beauty of the surrounding mountains, the desert plant life, and the amazing wildlife - it was easy to choose Tucson as my vacation destination.

What makes this house unique

This home has been crystal gridded for easy releasing of stress, family harmony, relaxation, and joy! Time and again I received emails sharing that the families had plans to tour the city, and fell so much in love with the property they decided to stay and enjoy the pool and the view!

....once you go into the backyard you never want to leave!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Desert Dream while in Oro Valley for our son's wedding. It was perfect! The view is one of the best in the Valley ....once you go into the backyard you never want to leave! It was so easy to relax and instantly settle into vacation mode. We had everything we could possibly need and really felt like it was a second home. The location is beautiful, and the neighborhood is very quiet. The house is clean, beds and linens super comfy. Very convenient location with lots of stores and restaurants easily accessible. We love that the area has a Whole Foods nearby. We had great local food at Harvest Restaurant, tasty brunch outdoors at Tohono Chul Gardens, excellent sandwiches at Beyond Bread, and delicious pizza at Z Pizza! We loved getting up early and enjoying the beautiful pool, view and watching the variety of wild life and birds in the desert. We are so grateful to the owner, Vicki, she was a pleasure to work with and was very prompt with replies. Thank You, Vicki!

Gracias.

I am hopeful that someone will read this review and be able to enjoy Vicki's hospitality. She is very courteous. We have used VRBO and similar entities numerous times. The home is very nice. The neighborhood is quiet. Our son tried to set a record number of times a human being dunked in a hot tub in a week. It is easy to recommend a stay here. Many thanks to Vicki for her hospitality.

absolutely beautiful winter getaway

  • 5 of 5

The home is gorgeous! Everything was so clean and the kitchen had everything you would need to prepare meals. We missed a 2 foot snowstorm and were in the hot tub with a glass of wine while it snowed where we live. We used the hot tub everyday(even when the outdoor temps were in the 40's) and swam in the heated pool. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking! It started warming up outside to the 60's by the time we left.

It's near restaurants, grocery stores, and encantada mall. Very convenient. We loved Tohono Chul Gardens and Bistro. We went to the San Xavier Mission, also known as "the white dove of the desert". My husband did Karchner Caverns which was on his "bucket list." The Botanical Gardens were beautiful.

We really enjoyed eating at the "Harvest Restaurant", not very far away. They do a lot of organic and I have 2 food allergies: soy and gleuten. They worked with me and actually I was suprised I could eat a lot of what was on the menu. We ate there 5 times during our stay. First Watch is a good breakfast restaurant. And you must try Frost Gelato-the best.

We really enjoyed our vacation and really relaxed. It's a very healing atmosphere. Our daughter came for a day visit and said it's just got such a healing "vibe" here.

Thank you so much, Vicki, for letting us enjoy your beautiful home.
