Wonderfully relaxing vibe and superb roof terrace
We had a wonderful holiday in Los Pinos. The house was a lot more spacious than we expected from the photos, with plenty of furniture in the different outdoor spaces where you could sit and lounge, including the wonderful roof terrace with its amazing view to the sea. It was great to hang out there in the evening - brilliant for moon and star gazing. Our son made friends with other children staying there and the owner’s friends and family who stay in the main house were all lovely and welcoming. The pool, play area and ping pong table were great fun. The nearby rocky beach was good to snorkel in and the recommended beach of Cap Roig (15 minutes drive away) was gorgeous with golden sand and a restaurant overlooking the beach that made a delicious seafood paella. We also walked the rocky paths round the headland of Punta de L’Aliga to the Illot, which was stunning. But our favourite beach was at Castell Sant Jordi. The sea there was super clear and it was like swimming in a warm bath. You can have fun jumping off the headland into the sea, plus the snorkeling was brilliant too, with tons of amazing fish, anemones and sea grass round the rocks.
A special thank you to Carmen who was, as everyone has commented, delightful. She kindly provided us with an electric kettle and was very welcoming. Even though she didn’t speak English we managed to communicate with a mixture of broken French, Italian and the help of Google translate and Watsapp. Thanks also to Friedrich for all the helpful information emails about the local area and the house - we will definitely be back!
We, as a family of four, thoroughly enjoyed our weeks long stay in October 2018.
You can hear the sea at night and swim in it during the day (still perfectly warm in October). The house has a lovely holiday feel to it and there wasn't anything we felt we needed.
Thank you so much Peter, I enjoy to read your comment several times. Regards from Carmen.
¡Fue muy bueno!
Excelente bungalow, un gran lugar, muy atenta y maravillosa anfitriona Carmen.
Un poco de aire acondicionado incómodo en las habitaciones, pero lo arreglamos por completo.
Esperamos volver. Lo recomendaremos a amigos.
Gracias Yuliy, sois encantadores. Carmen y yo le queríamos mucho como inquilinos. Es un placer cuidar Los Pinos y recibir sus huespedes para poder conocer personas como vosotros!
Very clean bungalow but very basic. We had no WiFi for most of our stay . It is very close to sea
We as a family have stayed in many holiday homes in Spain and found this to be the most basic . We arrived late at night and there wasn’t even a bottle of water in the fridge . Bungalow was clean but we didn’t even have an electric kettle.depending on what you are looking for it is far from luxurious . The bungalow is a 10min walk to beautiful coves which made up for the bungalow. I feel we’ve been spoilt with other properties
First of all, I would like to thank you for your constructive criticism. This is the only way we can improve.
>>We had no WiFi for most of our stay<<
You are right and I beg your pardon. During your stay, the entire WiFi installation was completely renewed. That took longer than planned in your house. I apologize very much. Nowadays our free high-speed WiFi reaches all rooms of the house as well as the garden, terraces and the pool. Perfect for streaming services like Youtube, Netflix etc. We have entrusted a professional partner with the maintenance and repair of our guests' internet access. Please inform us immediately if you have problems with it, so that we can inform this company to create remedy.
>>We arrived late at night and there wasn’t even a bottle of water in the fridge<<
When you asked me few days before arrival where to go shopping late at night I sent you the following message:
"I am sorry but after 10pm you won't be able to find any supermarket that is open. You will not be able to make that if you land at 9pm and need to complete your car rental formalities.
I recommend to do your shopping for the night and the next morning at any motorway service area on your way. There are 2 or 3 between Barcelona Airport and L'Ametlla de Mar."
I was sure you would do that. If I had known that you don't do no shopping before you arrive at the house, I would have let Carmen supply the fridge with the basics. This wouldn't have been a problem since we offer this service.
>>didn’t even have an electric kettle. <<
The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and a stainless steel kettle that heats water much faster than an electric kettle. But it wouldn't have been a problem if you had asked Carmen for an electric kettle or any other utensils for the kitchen. She usually brings them on the same day or at the latest after one day. But you didn't know that. Please forgive my lack of communication.

4 sights and attractions
4. 1 L`Ametlla de Mar.
At 6 km from the fishing village (pronounced Lamehja de Mar), the life on the sea takes place and the visitor will not be able to experience the fish trade at any other place on this coast up close. In the late afternoon, the catch in small boats to the halls for the auction will be herudendert.
Please also google "Tuna Tour Ametlla".
Of course, there is also the traditional market twice a week, which in addition to the market hall also stands with clothes, toys, jewelry, towels and much more offers.
The Museum of Popular Ceramics in L'Ametlla de Mar contains a collection of some 4 500 ceramic objects, most of them from the Iberian Peninsula. The collection has the largest inventory of exhibits in this area across Europe. Visitors will learn about the use of pottery, pottery, various types of jugs and manufacturing techniques.

4. 2 Ebro Delta
Approximately 30 minutes drive
About one third of the Ebro Delta was declared in 1983 as a natural park (Parc Natural del Delta de l'Ebre) with a total area of 80 km ². The entire river delta is a species-rich breeding and resting area for many species of birds, but it also serves as a hibernation shelter for migratory birds from northern Europe. In one count, about 300 different native bird species, migratory birds, ducks, herons, waders, gulls, coots and flamingos were counted. In the months of September and October, after the rice harvest, the uncovered marshland provides food for thousands of birds.
At the Ebro delta on the "Punta del Fangar" you have miles of almost deserted sandy beaches for swimming, jogging, walking or just marveling at your disposal.
A boat trip on the delta is always worth a day trip.
4. 3 Port Aventura
40 minutes drive
Both the famous amusement park in Salou, (slightly smaller than the Europa Park Rust) and the aqua park are worth a day trip.
4. 4 Other destinations
Honey Museum about 15 minutes drive
After the theory lesson everyone gets a beekeeping suit and drives to the hives (registration required). The tour is very interesting and well suited for children. German-speaking tours on request.
Other attractions such as old monasteries, sparkling wine and wineries, the Ebro Delta with the rice fields, Peñiscola with its magnificent castle and much more can be found within a radius of about 50 km.
Mont Caro, Tarragona, Tortosa, each about 45 minutes drive
