5BR/5BA Private HEATED Pool! Steps to the Beach!

If you're looking for a private island retreat this beautifully decorated 5 bedroom 5 bath house each with its own on suite is it. With easy beach access via boardwalk with no street to cross in the Plantation, private screened in heated (for a fee) pool and natural quiet surroundings this house is sure to please. Relax by the screened in private pool with plenty of space for sunbathing. If shade is what you prefer the house has a screened in deck area with table for eating and covered deck space with seating.

This house also includes an outside enclosed shower and fish cleaning station to make life a little easier at the beach. There is a Park style grill to cook the daily catch. On the first elevated level amenities include 3 comfortable king suites with access to a large deck overlooking the secluded natural surroundings and a laundry space. The second level features a spacious living room space with flat screen tv and DVD/ Blu-ray player as well as a sleeper sofa. A large well stocked kitchen with everything you will need to cook for the entire family with 8 person dining table as well as island seating and access to the screened in outdoor dining space, there is one bedroom also on this level which includes a King suite.

The top floor features a large bedroom with two bunk bed (full over full with trundle) plenty of space for the kids with double vanity and access to private deck with views of the gulf. Bed sizes 4 Kings, two triple bunk (double/double) and queen sleeper sofa. Sleeps up to 14. Outdoors provides covered concrete parking, 1 park style grill; fish cleaning station; enclosed shower; private screened pool (heated for a fee).

Please note the HOA does not allow golf carts for renters.

Had a great stay!!!

We had a great time here. The house had everything we needed. Walk to the beach was a nice sandy path right next to the house. Lots of things to do in the state park at the other end of the island too. Kids went swimming on the bay side on windy days.

Great stay

Had a great stay at Sandy Shores. The house is just a short walk to the beach via a path right beside the property. The covered pool is nice on sunny days. Very secluded and quiet area.

2025 summer vaca

Sandy Shores was perfect for our family of 12! I was, at first, disappointed that we were not right on the beach, but it was a short walk. The grands and great grands loved the 4th floor set up and the elevator was a must for my husband. The house was well appointed and we had everything we needed for our stay

Perfect for family gatherings

Three brothers and a sister and spouses - plus a son-in law and 2 grandsons - got together to enjoy some fishing and relaxing. The great room and huge decks provided plenty of space for catching up. Easy walk to the beach. We'll be back.

Beautiful Place

It is the perfect mix of privacy and beach vibes. It felt like we were in a tree house and within a few shots steps we were on the beach. House had everything we needed to feel at home. We stocked the fridge and didn't leave for 4 days.

Response from mgmt service was prompt, but did not address the issues that we experienced "DURING" our stay. One of our party was on crutches, the elevator was not functional, and nothing was done during our stay to remedy this very important issue.

What a GEM!

This home has everything to make a beach stay great! Clean, so well designed with each bedroom having its own bath, well-stocked kitchen, decks, porches, and a delightful heated pool! Owner was VERY quick to respond to any questions. We were a group of adults 65+, and the elevator was a great asset! Many of us started making plans to bring our families back to this home.

So much potential but needs maintenance

The property needs a lot of attention and maintenance in every floor. We found ourselves making compromises in many ways to make the property work. We didn’t use the balconies because the hand rails had cracks and felt very unsafe to allow our kids around the space. The bathroom in the bunk bed room had the shower roof caving in. Overall the property needs major renovations

Just gorgeous

We were super comfortable in the house. The house is well laid out, and each room has its own bathroom. The kitchen, dining and living room are large and fit our group of 11 people comfortably. We spent lots of time on the screened-in porch. The pool is lovely- large and so perfect after the beach. Everything was clean and as described. This house is in a private community of a beauitful island. St. George is pretty remote and being in a private community, we practically had the beach to ourselves. The beach is just a short walk away, and we were able to leave our beach chairs folded near the boardwalk so didnt have to carry them each day. At the beach we saw pelicans, dolphins, and starfish! Waters were pretty calm most of our stay- great for kids. We also rented a pontoon boat for the day one day and went fishing. We would absolutely come back to this house. Great host, great experience.

Perfect Getaway for a Peaceful Holiday Gathering

Sandy Shores provided a perfect getaway for a family gathering over Thanksgiving. We chose the Big Bend region because the travel time was about the same for relatives coming from the NC coast, southwestern LA, and eastern TN. We selected St. George Island for its peace and tranquility. We picked this home for its spacious floor plan, proximity to the beach, and relative privacy. The layout of the home and its five bedrooms (each with its own full bathroom) was ideal for our group of three couples, two young children, and a toddler. Even when we were all in the great room, it never felt crowded. The elevator is very handy for those with mobility issues, and it was a huge help moving luggage to the bedrooms and groceries to the kitchen. The sandy path to the beach is only a couple of football fields long, and most of that can be walked barefoot. If you are a tenderfoot like me, sandals are helpful for cross the gravel driveway to the trail. In the other direction, it is only a 10-minute walk along a paved trail to the Egret Pond. Longer strolls or bike rides open opportunities to visit a variety of natural settings, including beaches, woodlands, and marshes. In hindsight, we should have brought a couple of kayaks, although there are local rental options too. Although we did not use it during our stay, the pool was well maintained. The nearby shower and toilet add a bonus for those using the pool. As others have mentioned, Laura Davis was excellent at checking in with us and responding to any questions or concerns. We will certainly stay here again if the opportunity arises.

The house is surrounded by woods; it is a short walk to the beach, through woods; it is surrounded by easy and beautiful bike paths; it is walking distance to a park where one can leave overnight and launch a kayak, a canoe, or a small boat.

Enjoyable stay

We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was a lot closer walk to the beach than I thought from looking at the map. The house was also a good setup to house us, friends, and all our kids. Our property manager was also very informative and checked in frequently to make sure our stay was going well or if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again

The first time we saw St. George Island we fell in love with the quiet and slow paced feel of it. We chose this house because of the short walk to the beach and private setting the house offers. We go on vacation to connect with family and spend time together and that is exactly what this house offers. Walks on the beach finding "treasures", afternoons grilling out while the kids swim and quiet mornings sitting on the deck drinking coffee with not another person in sight.
