We do want to note that during your visit we were finishing a painting project in the upstairs portion of the home, which likely created more noise than guests would normally experience. The guest suite is a private lower-level space with its own entrance, but we understand that occasional sounds from upstairs can be noticeable. The pool and the property were beautiful. I was there visiting my mom and dad so didn’t really get to use like I would have liked. The property was clean and maintained and it was very well stocked with what you may need. Enjoyed it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this beautiful and relaxing place so close to Lake Hickory NC. With a quiet and wonderful outdoor environment and pool, it was a great place for us to visit and only 10 minutes from downtown Hickory but it was a wonderful escape and the amenities were top notch. I’d highly recommend this place for a family getaway in a delightful area outside of the town. Loved our vacation there and our hosts have highest ratings for good reason.

The Blue Door Cottage is a wonderful get-a-way. The guesthouse is warm and inviting. The grounds are beautiful. The pictures on the site are on point. Our family enjoyed walking to see the neighbors' alpaca and horses. Would definitely recommend.

Our daughter had the best time playing with their sweet Alpacas ( the girls) The location is excellent, only 10 minutes from restaurants and shopping but is in peaceful, beautiful setting.
