About the host
Hosted by Bertrand Michel
I currently live in Switzerland where I organize festivals revisiting the great cultural revolutions through theater, music and visual arts.
My passions also lead me to water sports (I practice them at 60 km from the house of Ramatuelle, on one of the best French spots which is none other than the Almanarre, on the peninsula of Giens) and to ski touring.
My passions also lead me to water sports (I practice them at 60 km from the house of Ramatuelle, on one of the best French spots which is none other than the Almanarre, on the peninsula of Giens) and to ski touring.
Why they chose this property
My family has been coming to St Tropez for several generations. As a teenager, I started to look for a place suitable for underwater fishing. I quickly noticed that the best fishing spots were those between Cap Camara and Escalet, and this because of the cleanliness of the waters, due to the very low density in terms of habitat and population. I quickly fell in love with these wild places, similar to those found in Corsica.I quickly had only one goal: to convince my family to leave our property in St Tropez to settle in this beautiful nature which is now definitely preserved. We have not ceased, for 30 years, to bless this initiative.
What makes this property unique
When my family bought the land to build our house, we were seduced by the Mediterranean flora that surrounded us; indeed, cork oaks, umbrella pines, mimosas, arbutus trees, fig trees, eucalyptus, olive trees, and of course, all the wild plants that are so good for our cooking: rosemary, thyme, dill... But the 360 degree view convinced us more than anything else: the sea, of course, but also the countryside in its Provencal sweetness, the old village of Ramatuelle that we see from the living room and the terrace, the hills and forests of the Macif des Maures, so close, and even the snow-covered mountains of the pre-Alps, which, in winter, appear to us from the upstairs room.
