About this property
Wraparound Deck | DogFriendly | HotTub | GameLoft
Welcome to The Chicory.
Some cabins are built simply to sleep a group. The Chicory was designed to bring people together. Tucked into the woods on two private acres in Hocking Hills, The Chicory comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests while giving everyone room to spread out. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a girls' weekend, a holiday gathering, or simply escaping for a few days with friends, you'll find thoughtfully designed spaces both inside and out to make the most of your time together.
From the oversized wraparound deck and private hot tub to the game loft, fire pit, and private community lake, it's the kind of place where you'll make memories without ever feeling like you have to leave the property.
Designed for Gathering
Start the morning with coffee overlooking the woods before everyone slowly makes their way to the kitchen for breakfast. Spend the afternoon hiking nearby trails, swimming at the private community lake, kayaking, canoeing, or simply relaxing on the deck while the kids play.
As the sun goes down, fire up the grill, soak in the hot tub beneath the trees, challenge each other in the game loft, or end the evening around the fire pit with s'mores and stories.
Over the years, this deck has hosted everything from Thanksgiving dinners to yoga retreats and girls' weekends, and it's still our favorite place at the cabin.

Everything was really clean. There needs to be a deck with hot tub that would be better also screw vent is loose in kitchen and several girls tripped on it.. it was almost a bad thing but other then that was a pretty awesome stay thank you!
Great cabin. The kids loved the game room upstairs. Fire pit area was a nice hang out and the hot tub was a big hit. Had all the amenities you would want. Would stay here again.
This cabin is beautiful.
There were some minor issues like the shower doors needing repaired so they would actually slide but over all thehoke was beautiful and well kept.

Thanks for the feedback, Nicole. The shower doors have now been fixed up! Overall, glad you enjoyed the beautiful cabin.
Great place to bring a family, feels like you are in an adult treehouse. While the inside of the house is beautifully modernized, the outside additions such as the hot tub and fire pit complete the overall experience. Would recommend to friends and will likely stay again in the future.

We couldn’t have said this better ourselves, Kim! It was lovely hosting you all and chatting with you through the app. So glad to hear you and your family had a great stay before sending your daughters off to school :)
We all came together to celebrate our mother’s 80th bday from three different states and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The chalet was the perfect layout for all 11 of us and was also dog-friendly which was helpful for some of us. Plenty to do to keep everyone entertained. Great spot for a long weekend trip 👍

Hey Laura, so great to hear you all had an awesome family reunion and made some lasting memories for such a special occasion! We appreciate you and the kind words.
We had a great time and your home was beautiful and had plenty of space. The outdoor space was wonderful as well! The back deck was so peaceful and relaxing and the fire pit area was a great place to roast marshmallows and tell stories well into the night. We loved the location and the whole process of checking in and all of our questions being answered in a timely manner was flawless! Thank you Pat for a lovely stay.

Joyce, we can’t thank you enough for the kind words! The photos you all sent us on social media were amazing! Glad to see you all enjoyed the cabin to its fullest.
The cabin was great. The surroundings are beautiful. I wish we could have stayed longer. We had plenty of room for everyone. I,
myself, only had one complaint, there are no clocks anywhere. ( this is just me). The road was rough going up to the cabin.

We loved hosting you and your family, Janet! Glad you all enjoyed the peaceful surroundings :)
The cabin was located in a beautiful location. Cabin had everything we needed. The overall stay was great. The listing should mention that to access the cabin there are to large stairways (one inside and one out) that are not great for older adults. Also in one of the bedrooms the bed is against the wall making it hard to get in and out, however the beds were very comfortable. There needs to be a storage container on the deck for the deck furniture cushions which were wet for most of our stay. Overall, we had a good time and the cabin was very comfortable.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and found the cabin comfortable! Thank you for your feedback. We'll update the listing to mention the stairways and bed positioning, and consider adding a storage container for the deck furniture cushions. Hope to welcome you back soon! 😊
I stayed at this cabin with 11 friends to celebrate my parter’s 30th birthday and it was an absolute blast! The location is just remote enough to feel like you’re really out in the woods but not too far that it takes forever to find. The layout of the cabin was perfect for hosting a birthday celebration, everyone could hang out on the porch and in the hot tub or in the kitchen and really feel like we were all together. There were enough beds for everyone and they were all so comfy! We forgot a speaker (I know, huge party foul!) but luckily we were able to use Spotify on the TV and it was loud enough to hear in the other room. We all had an amazing time and would for sure stay here again! Thanks Pat and Chelsea!!
House was cozy for what it is. The house is starting to show a little wear and tear. The pictures show area rugs throughout the house and those are no longer present. The beds are super low to the ground, which made it hard to accommodate a few guests. Family room couch could use updating. The cabin was overall cozy and we enjoyed our time.

Location of cabin was great. Unfortunately the cleanliness was not so nice.
The cabin needs many things repaired updated
and a good cleaning. Stairs had slip proof sticky that was peeled and a hazard. A large very dead branch fell on my sons truck. Just missed my son. The tree is very dead and right next to driveway. I still have had no response to my email about that. The upkeep is very poor. Every piece of kitchen items had to be washed. Very bad there.
Furniture very worn. Definitely not something an older person could sit on. Very low.
My family overlooked things and enjoyed our time together.
Many other things that were just not pleasant.
Cabin location - great
Size - great
Price reasonable
Unfortunately we won’t be going back.
Safety and consideration of your guest is important.
I don’t feel we got that
