About this property
Lux Gated Estate Villa w/ Private Pool Umbria/Borders Tuscany
Our stately and gated Villa San Lorenzo is fully furnished and sleeps 16 (18 with rollaway beds). It consists of a living and dining room, a commercial kitchen, 8 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and views of the large pool and surrounding acreage. The Villa is situated on approximately 10 acres of surrounding land enhancing the privacy and appeal, yet is also adjacent to close amenities like small towns, markets, and restaurants in a very desirable area of Italy, a short distance away from Lake Trasimeno.
There is a Piccola Villa San Lorenzo Guest House available to rent as well (for an additional charge) which has a full kitchen, laundry, living room and dining room and private terrace, as well as 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a fold out sofa for an additional 6 guests. Please send a message to check availability for a larger group and both Villas.
Other things to note: There are local roads for running or biking around the property and views of the hillsides and surrounding village. Situated in central Italy, midway between the Eternal City of Rome and the Renaissance City of Florence, the Villa is set in the region of Umbria, on the border of Tuscany, in the province of Perugia, and near Castiglione del Lago and a small village called Gioiella, which can be seen from the Villa. Castiglione del Lago is known for its beauty, located on a chalky promontory overlooking Lake Trasimeno centered around its castle, “Rocca del Leone." The village has ancient Etruscan and Roman origins and a particular charm, thanks to the beauty of the old town center, which is still ringed within medieval walls. You can also find extremely efficient ferries to the Lake isles, a sailing club, and a nice cycle and hiking track. The property is located near the cities of Montepulciano, Cortona, Montalcino Siena, Assisi, and many other fabulous hillside towns.

About the host
Hosted by Suzette Lipscomb
In the US, most of my career has been spent in Real Estate, Finance of Real Estate and Construction. I am a 4th generation contractor. My family is Italian, and I have spent an extended amount of time visiting all areas of Italy. It was a lifelong dream to purchase a property in Italy and be able to host family and friends as well as offer a luxury destination spot for international travelers.
I believe that travel and the experiences you have while traveling abroad bring us all closer and open people up to new ways of living, existing and connecting, which I think is very important during these times.

Why they chose this property
I have searched for decades to find a property that has "it all". Villa San Lorenzo is historic, but with modern conveniences, remodel, but in character of the surrounding land, large and spacious and also offers privacy. There is a large pool, spacious land and views of the surrounding towns. It's accessible to the best of Italy, but also allows a connection to nature and the land. You can enjoy the modern, commercial kitchen, or read a book in a hammock. Pick a plum on the way down the pool or bake a pie with the apples from the garden. I love that you can have the experience of quiet and solitude or within a short drive be in Florence, Arezzo, Rome, Siena, Assisi or Montepulciano. As Stanley Tucci says, Umbria is the "cuore" or heart of Italy, adjacent to Tuscany and in the perfect spot for romantics, families, adventure seekers, and yogis, artists, or even destination weddings or special occasions like reunions or birthdays.
What makes this property unique
Having stayed at many properties in Italy, I know personally that Villa San Lorenzo is unique in many ways. There is everything you need to sequester yourself in privacy and nature, or to explore. In particular, the quality of the property, the furnishings, the linens, is a world above the rest, but also, the rooms are large and spacious with high ceilings and en suite bathrooms. It's really rare to find a large house, that sleeps so many comfortably with a lot of land in such an accessible location. I wish for all who visit to make magical memories that last a lifetime.
