About Celia Homsher

We bought this wonderful log home as our family get-away, close to home, about 15 years ago. We have so many wonderful family memories with our kids growing up, adventures out on the river (swimming, boating, waterskiing), entertaining friends... Our kids are now grown and we were not using our lovely cabin as much, so we decided to share it with other people so that they can create and enjoy fun memories of vacations as well. If you want a peaceful setting, winter or summer, this is it! Nature surrounds the cabin and is fun to watch from the deck. Bald Eagles and Golden eagles abound Dec-Feb! Deer visit year-round. Fishing is fun in the summer too....or just relax and barbeque on the deck with the fabulous view.

Why Celia Homsher chose Missouri

We love the cabin because while it is secluded, peaceful, and off the beaten path, it is only 15 minutes to get to grocery stores/shopping/entertainment.

Very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing weekend away for our family. Our twins (2 yrs) loved being on the river. The cabin was dirty for my taste, but I guess that is what happens when someone doesn't live there full time. You have to take your garbage with you or pay the owners $50 to get rid of it for you! I was less than pleased to deal with trash in my car. Overall the house and location are great if you are looking for a quiet getaway. We will stay here again for sure.

Annual Fall Weekend Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting this cabin for a weekend in the Fall for 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. We are from the St. Louis area and love that it is so close yet isolated enough that you feel disconnected from the day-to-day. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is lovely and comfortable and we look forward to our little get-away each year. We highly recommend it and hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we do!

Great Rustic Quiet Location

  • 5 of 5

Our group had a great time staying here. The Cabin is a little off the beaten track, but that was appreciated given that it was so quiet and peaceful out there. Lots of room for our group and comfortable beds to sleep in, we all enjoyed the hot-tub out on the deck and the quiet of being in the country. The water is very hard with sulpher and iron smells in it, recommend buying bottled water to drink. You can hear the trains blowing their horns for the unmarked crossings that are in the area (Not a big deal, but something to be aware of). Very nice home and would recommend others to stay here.

Mississippi River Get Away

  • 5 of 5

My sisters and cousins spent a long weekend in this beautiful place. We loved the house and it was very comfortable for the five of us. We had all everything we could have wanted to make the stay easy and comfortable. We also loved being right on the river. The property is secluded and peaceful. We walked and then sat on the deck watching the river and spending a lot of time catching up with each other. We did do some sightseeing one day and easily found our way. Beautiful place to relax and renew. Thanks so much.
