About Audrey and Matt

Our family of six loves to travel, and when we discovered the vacation home option instead of hotels, we knew we wanted a rental property of our own to share with others. We hope our cottages enhance your vacation like so many homes have done for us. We love meeting and talking with people from all over, so please feel free to give us a call!- Audrey and Matt

Why Audrey and Matt chose St. Charles

We've always loved Old Town St. Charles because of its charm, fun atmosphere, and historic architecture. When we saw this little brick house for sale we thought it was just perfect and would be a way for us to enjoy the area even more and let other people experience it too.

What makes this house unique

With everything in walking distance, we love that we don't have to pile everyone into the car when we want to go eat, shop, or play. The many festivities and events happening all year round, give the whole family something to enjoy.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I was excited about renting the Old Town Guest House over Thanksgiving. My husband and I rented the River Town Guest House in July for our anniversary and were so charmed by the town and the many things to do, as well as the gorgeous and cozy carriage house itself, that we decided to bring the family back. We originally wanted to rent the River Town along with the Main Street house but they were booked for the Thanksgiving weekend. The Old Town Guest house was better than I could have ever imagined. So roomy yet cozy. Gorgeous. Very comfortable and classy. Extremely reasonably priced for the size of the place and all its amenities-including washer & dryer. So close in proximity to Main street. I had been concerned that since it did not have an oven I would not be able to cook as much as I wanted but I got along just fine with the crock pot and microwave and electric skillet. Seriously, who needs an oven?? It was so fun to be able to walk down the street to get to wherever we wanted. We were so charmed by the actors dressed up as Christmas characters and I had as much fun trying to run into all the characters as my grandchildren did. And what a unique way to learn the history of all the characters. Everyone loved the shopping, including the short drive to Bass Pro Shop-truly something for everyone. We also enjoyed chestnuts roasting on an open fire, renting a 4 person bicycle to ride along the riverfront, a 1/2 day jaunt to St Louis, morning walks on the Katy Trail, marshmallow roast at the Bike Stop, night life at Llywelyn's Pub, pizza at Frankie Tocco's, seeing Santa at the train depot, voting for our favorite gingerbread house, riding in a horse drawn carriage, the many groups of carolers and the short but sweet Christmas parade of characters. All the decorations & lights were so beautiful-and I LOVED seeing that the restaurants were not daunted by the chilly weather-their outdoor seating is still available this time of year-they all have outdoor heaters/fire pits. I had never been out of town for Thanksgiving in my entire life and was a little apprehensive about that. Not to worry- I already miss the place and would love to make it a Thanksgiving tradition-at least every few years if we can't return every year. In the meantime, I know St Charles will be a win any time of year. And I would not stay anywhere but one of the Guest House Company properties. What a very special set up. I wish there were 10 stars because that is what these properties deserve!

Perfect for any family with kids!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house is just a couple minutes walk to main street which offers a lot of restaurants. From the front house, you wouldn't think it's big until you walk in. It was a total of 6 of us and the house offer plenty of space for all of us. My mom stayed in the bottom floor which she felt she had her own privacy the whole time. It had a modern look mixed into with the bricks which gave it a nice look. Overall, I recommend folks to stay here because it exceeded our expectations.

We rented this property for a girl's weekend. Was pleasantly surprised how beautiful and immaculate it was on the inside. It was convenient to shopping and restaurants. Would rent this house again without hesitation!

St Charles, Missouri experience

  • 5 of 5

A clean, comfortable, quiet, and convenient location for the St. Charles experience. Three and even four private sleeping areas and private parking for 3 cars. Everything was wonderfully welcoming - fresh flowers, snacks, location information including menus and sights to see.

Awesome stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were in St. Charles for a family wedding, my two cousins rented from Audrey and Matt not far from our place. We have a wonderful time, the stay was great, weather was perfect. Couldn't have gone better. Audrey and Matt are very accommodating, communications were great and the house was very cozy and meet our needs. My 87 year old mother had her wheelchair and everything worked out well for her. Thanks again, I would highly recommend this place...drt
