Waterfront cabin with private beach, decks with water views, secluded in trees
The house is raised like a treehouse with wraparound decks and dramatic views over the water. It's an amazing place to get away and find peace in nature! The property is on several acres that are exclusively yours.
Perfect for birdwatching, kayaking, fishing, wading, grilling out (propane provided), sitting around the campfire, or just lazing on the deck with a good book. A truly beautiful wilderness with your own comfotable, private waterfront retreat.
On the main floor of the house, which is up one flight of stairs from the ground, there is one bedroom with a king bed, the kitchen and living/dining room, laundry, one bath with shower, and a private office off the master bedroom. There is a TV in the living room with Roku to stream your favorite services. The living room opens up onto massive, 360-degree decks, including 600 sq. feet of waterfront deck space with incredible views.
The 2nd floor of living space holds one private bedroom with a queen bed and work desk, and a large open, wrap-around loft that contains: a queen bed, a full bed, and two twin beds. Capable of sleeping 8 guests total. Please note the rate increases for larger groups. This is due to associated cleaning fees, utility costs, and risks assumed with a greater number of guests. Please enter the proper number of guests and dog(s) for an accurate quote.
Outside, you'll find a park-like setting and a trailhead down to your private, secluded, white sandy beach. You see no other houses from the creek, just wild nature. Come back from a day at the beach to grab a cool drink and enjoy the evening breeze on the deck, grill for dinner, play games in the living room, and listen to the sounds of nature around you. It's a perfect retreat for couples, friends, or families with older children.
The house is on the water's edge, and the private trail to the creek beach takes just a couple of minutes to walk. Note that the trail is rugged with a couple of steeper slopes, which may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns.
The house has central A/C and heat, and the main two bedrooms each have an additional, dedicated window A/C for personalized comfort. You also have your own washer and dryer, especially helpful for longer stays.
We are dog-friendly (maximum 2) with a small, non-refundable pet fee. If you are considering bringing a dog, please message host with a brief description of your pets BEFORE booking. Dogs of all sizes are welcome. Note that, as with any creek setting, there are venomous snakes and other such creatures to watch out for.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

The cabin was well-stocked with cookware and appliances. The host left an ample supply of firewood for the outdoor firepit and indoor fireplace. The view of the West Hobolochitto Creek from the cabin is beautiful!
The cabin was nice and had a lot of space. The creek was the best part of my stay and the large wrap around porch was great. Plenty of games for the grandkids to play. Would recommend if you want a nice quiet place to stay.
Excellent place everything was on point I recommend this place to anyone that want to have a great time with family and friends . Clean organize good comunícation with owners . Definitely we coming back
We spent the weekend here for our daughter’s 18th birthday along with a couple of friends. We all had a great time! Definitely would plan another stay.
We lived on the wrap around porch with pretty sunsets and views of the river while we played games and ate too much. It was great even in bad weather. We enjoyed the walks to the river and could see it would be a great place to spend the day on the beach or in the water. The fireflies came out our last night to end the Perfect vacation. Thanks so much .Donna
I can’t even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed ourselves. We brought our family with us this trip (we’ve been to the area several years in a row) so we needed a larger location to accommodate more people. Everything we needed was there, we were all comfortable and days spent on the deck were great! Took some day trips to the coast which didn’t take too long as well! Any issues that came up were addressed quickly and communication with the owner was easy! LOVED IT!!
This property is truly a treehouse! Huge deck/porch surrounds the entire structure. Pretty views of a private creek bed , and only a short trail walk to a sandy beach…. Bedrooms are extremely spacious!
This place was amazing. The cabin was super clean and very comfortable for our family. Spending the day on the creek was great. The creek was beautiful and perfect for kids to play in. Plenty of Tubes available to tie up and just float. The owner was very friendly and prompt with responses to questions. Will def be back!!!!!
Peaceful and beautiful. Wish it hadn’t rained so much prior to and during our stay but we did enjoy one day of the private beach once the water receded. Plenty of games available, although we brought some of our own. The house was well stocked with every day needs. Very enjoyable time!
My sister & I brought our daughters (our ages 47, 42, 21& 16) for a weekend trip. Not too far from “town”. Just a 5 minute walk to the creek. There’s a steep slope in the sand when you get to the beach. We just left the wagon at the top & carried our things down. There were plenty of beds, towels, coffee, etc! If I could add anything, it would be another seat or larger couch in the living room. Other than that it was a very comfy stay & we would definitely come back!!
This cabin was perfect! It is truly a treehouse with a huge porch that wraps around the entire cabin. Beautiful views and the creek was great. Our dog enjoyed himself as well. The kitchen had everything we needed and they supplied beach towels. It was very clean and so relaxing. We did not need to reach out to Polly, during our stay, as everything was perfect. When we did communicate prior, she was very responsive and super sweet. We will definitely be back. Susan and Jeff Winters
We had a wonderful stay at this secluded cabin on the West Hobolochitto Creek. The property is exactly as described—peaceful, private, & thoughtfully appointed. The wraparound porch is wonderful, with a swing, tables & chairs, a bench, and a grill, all overlooking the peaceful creek. Binoculars are provided for birdwatching, which was a lovely touch. There’s also a fire ring with chairs, and firewood is supplied.Inside, the cabin is cozy & inviting, with an indoor fireplace that was perfect for chilly evenings, and firewood is provided for indoor use as well. The cabin is very well stocked with ample towels & linens, plenty of kitchen supplies, and even coffee & tea. There are puzzles, games, & playing cards for relaxing evenings. Reliable WiFi & a smart TV. There’s a trail leading down to a private, sandy beach along the creek, which looks lovely—although we didn’t get a chance to use it this time since it was winter, but it would be perfect in warmer months. Ample water toys, floats, chairs, & beach towels are also provided. Polly was easy to reach & responded quickly. Overall, this cabin is a perfect retreat, and we’d absolutely love to return. This place truly has so many thoughtful extras. We had a relaxing, comfortable stay. Thank you!
This place was absolutely beautiful, cozy & relaxing. The creek access was a little walk but we were prepared with a wagon. We spent most of our days in the cool creek & on the cabin’s private beach. The cabin was awesome & had everything we needed including kitchen gadgets and even beach towels. EVERYTHING was provided even a massive amount of games. The surrounding deck was huge and the view was just beautiful. Ms. Polly was very easy to reach & answered every question I had. We will definitely be rebooking very soon!!! ♥️
Amazing cabin for all, with the Best host we've had yet. 💚
We went for a short weekend getaway with 3 adult and 4 kids. Drive was beautiful, cabin beautiful and beautiful surroundings. I have been to several cabin rentals and I have to say this one takes the cake. The cabin is very nostalgic. All wood inside and out. Open area makes everyone feel like we were all In the same room together at all times. My 2 dogs loved the wrap around porch and we're very comfortable. We cooked dinner outside each night. The trail with the large magnolia was breath taking. It did rain most of the time but the view made the rain so enjoyable. We are already booking another trip for the summer so we can enjoy the creek. BEST HOST EVER!!!!
Polly was very nice. We were greeted with a Birthday/Welcome letter. The house is absolutely gorgeous and spacious. We spent our days on the creek. The path was a pretty easy walk. Getting down to the creek was not as easy but wasn't terrible. Our nights were spent on the porch. They had 2 fans outside which not only kept us cool but also kept bugs away. Polly and Dave literally had everything in the house you could think of. There were plenty of towels for everyone they even had beach towels. If you enjoy sleeping with a fan, not only did they have a ceiling fan but a fan on the nighy stand. They literally thought of every comfort you would want/need.
unit had plenty of space with our trip starting off with 3 adults and 1 kid and expanding out to 8 adults and 4 kids with plenty of space for everyone to find a bed or airmatress. the porch was huge and the wrap around feature was awesome for the 4 legged guests. The creek was an easy walk down from the unit and the fire pit was a nice spot on a coolfront night
Beautiful surroundings, a lovely cabin... it just can't get any better.
With it's second story wrap around deck nestled in the hardwood tree tops, this cabin really does feel like a tree house. You can see the creek from there too - but you don't really get to appreciate how pretty it is until you're hanging out on one of the lovely sandbars.
We were more interested in the quiet, woodsy location than the actual cabin- so were very pleased to find that it was in great condition, very clean, and full of happy extras (such as good wi-fi, comfy beds, and beach chairs) ... it was clear that our host put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring we had everything we needed (and succeeded! There wasn't a single moment that we didn't have something we needed.)
I cannot say enough good things about our experience, so I'll finish with this ... we can't wait to go back!! :)

About the host
Hosted by Polly Burns
I've been hosting vacation guests at my home in New Orleans for over 7 years now, and I am thrilled to invite you to our new waterfront cabin in Mississippi! I am an avid traveler, I love meeting people from around the world and right here at home. Aside from taking care of these two homes, I am a grant writer, and also work with underserved children, teaching them to love learning in nature. I look forward to hearing from you and will be accessible through your stay!
Why they chose this property
For the last 25 years my friends and I have booked waterfront rentals in Mississippi for meaningful getaways. When I found this property, it was beyond any I had ever seen before - it was a place I would have jumped for a chance to stay at. It has everything - privacy from neighbors, private sandbars, HUGE decks with incredible views, abundant nature, is raised up like a treehouse, with gorgeous wood cabin interior and soaring ceilings, plenty of room for a group, and an hour from New Orleans! We love it, and I know you will too.
