About Beth and Larry Sulak

dise.

Beth and Larry Sulak purchased this villa in 2000

Why Beth and Larry Sulak chose Grace Bay

Location on 325 feet of Beachfront, Privacy, Large property 6 acres, now close to amenities dining, shopping, bars, not so 25 yrs ago :)

Though purchased in 1990 we have upgraded over the years making it a charming beachfront retreat, not too many frills but just enough.

What makes this villa unique

We love the space and privacy that Villa Camilla gives us as well as the short walk -- 1 minute -- across our property to the beach with the best snorkeling just next door. The villa is set among 6 acres of mature tropical gardens and we have 325' of beachfront at our doorstep! We always feel that the stretch of beach in front of Villa Camilla is reserved only for us and for guests at Villa Camilla, even though all beaches on Provo are public.

We love wandering through the garden seeing what's in bloom at the moment-- wild orchids, beach plum, cactuses, different palms. And because of the greenery around us, we're a magnet for birds, including humming birds.

Breakfast and lunch on the deck are wonderful, but nothing compares to watching the sunset from the west desk with rum punch in hand! Then if we're not cooking that night, it's off to one of Provo's many excellent restaurants, none more than a 5 to 10-minute drive away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family of five had a great time! This is our 4th trip to TCI. The location is amazing — right on Grace Bay and so close to wonderful snorkeling spots! That helped to meet the needs of my husband (loves to snorkel), my kids (love the sand and swimming AND THE POOL), and me (who would be pretty happy anywhere on TCI). Was the house as updated as other places we have stayed? no. Were the views amazing? Yes! Did it allow us to be here as a family? Yes! We would definitely come back! Thanks so much for the help with the minor house issues! Thanks so much for the great stay and opportunity to be here!

Providenciales (often Provo locally is an island in the northwest Caicos Islands, part of the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory. The island has an area of 98 km2 (38 sq mi) and a 2012 Census population of 23,769. Providenciales is the largest island in population, the third largest in area, and is home to a large majority of the population of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The island is served by the Providenciales International Airport. Providenciales was ranked the best beach destination in the world by TripAdvisor in 2011.

Located in an eastern crook of Providenciales, Grace Bay has 12 miles of soft ashen sand and open crystalline water to placate sunbathers. There's little shade, so come early in the morning to get your choice of umbrellas. Some of the island's most well-liked restaurants are sheltered along Grace's shore, as are the most popular hotels.

Recent travelers recommend snorkeling at Bight Reef. Snorkel equipment can be rented off the beach at the Coral Gardens resort or arrange a day sail or tour. Grace Bay is a public beach that's open all hours of the day, every day of the week.

Great Location and a Nice Property

  • 5 of 5

Before I can truly rate this property, I feel it important to give it context. We were the first plane to land on the island post Maria, and the island was still having issues with Irma. Given that, the property owners were VERY flexible if we wanted to change or cancel, but we were determine to go and we did! I am sure that Maria/Irma will scare many people away, but now is when the island needs your financial support, and the real benefit in going is that the beach are empty :)

The house suffer very little (to no real) damage from either hurricane which should give you a feel for the quality of construction. The real damage from the storms was to the gardens on the extensive gardens on the property. The staff did a great job hustling to get the property ready to stay in after the storm. I really wish I could have seen the garden before the storm, but that said, we were shocked in how fast the gardens were rebounding in the week we were there.

A real gem of the property is in its location. The grocery store is a short 5 min drive, and the Thursday night beach party is in walking distance. Also, having both the ocean with direct access and pool to float in is a real plus. The direct beach access is very nice and the beach itself is dynamite. You can walk for miles in either direction on the beach with out issue and a great way to start each day.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future!

Beauty on the Beach!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a fabulous week between Christmas and New Year at Villa Camilla. If I were to use one word to describe our experience I would say "easy". From beginning to end our engagement and experience was easy. Much gratitude to our hostess Linda Nayton who met us at the airport and guided us to the house after a late arriving flight and gave us advice on the places to go and things to do which we followed. Everything we were looking for in a laid back, go with the flow vacation was their for our family of six. Comfortable and casual was what we signed up for. Comfortable and casual is what Villa Camilla delivered!

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on 9-20 for a very overdue family vacation. Linda was very welcoming and gave us a ton of info about the area and also all the amenities of the main house before she left. We also met Edson our first day and were immediately in love with him. Our first night and second nights were uneventful and we slept well. We went to the fish fry Thursday evening and had an absolute blast being around tons of locals as well as other tourists. The food is spectacular and inexpensive compared to some of the other places on the island. We went home, and after some great family time on the west patio, we all turned in for the night. About 4:30 that morning the alarm went off and we all came jumping out of bed. The security company called almost immediately and we told them what had happened and they arrived within 10 minutes to check things out. They did not find anything, and we all went back to bed for a bit. We got back up about 7 and after breakfast as we were headed out to Chalk Sound for the day, we noticed the screen had been cut near the front entry way - so we immediately contacted Linda and Alfonzo - who came to the house within about 30 minutes. They also found some palm prints on one of the bedroom sliding doors where someone had apparently tried to slide it open. So, for the remainder of our trip - Edson was our bodyguard and property patrol - he was up all night long making rounds of the property and when he would see that we were up, he would go to bed. This helped us feel more secure, as my daughter and son-in-law's bedroom was the one that they had tried to get into - and she was pretty upset about it, as would be expected. We had no more issues with this the entire time we were there.

The house is wonderful - the view from the front room takes your breath away - having a laundry onsite it WONDERFUL! We were next door at Beach House nearly every day of our stay - letting "The Sherminator" take care of our needs. They were so gracious in letting us use their beach chairs and water equipment. Since we went in the off-season, no place was ever very busy. Some of the restaurants close for renovations, so we were sad that we couldn't take the kids to Heminway's or Coco Bistro, but we did eat at Mango Reef, Tiki Hut, Sharkbite, and Baci. Also Giggles ice cream! :)

Take lots of money - as groceries are ridiculous. But you will NEVER see water this color anywhere else in the world! So it's worth it!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind compliments and being our repeat guests. We are happy you enjoyed our Villa, beautiful beaches, service and fantastic restaurants. We have had numerous families like yours enjoy our property over the years without any problems. We feel terrible about the Attempted break in and are glad you were pleased with the extra patrolled security we provided at no cost. Now the villa is equipped with the latest security systems and during the welcome and check our property manager Linda goes though the simple security alarm steps to make you feel more secure. We have since have our caretaker Edson on site during the daytime when guests are out and about and the alarm monitoring system is a gem, no issues since. The Turks and Caicos island are rated as one of the safest islands in the Caribbean. There are no negative travel advisories by either by American or Canadian websites. We welcome you back to our island paradise and only ask that you follow the Property Managers instructions to lock the doors and set alarm. She is on call 24/7. We hope to see you again soon.

Glorious!!

  • 5 of 5

OMG did we ever luck out booking this place. The location is perfect for groceries, shopping, activities, and fabulous restaurants. Yet completely private such that no one knew we were even here. We always like trying new places but we will never be able to top this. The views are fabulous, the house comfortable and, again, the location prime. I would like to make this an annual trip. Never be able to top this

Owner's Response: We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Camilla on the Beach. We pride ourselves to be one of the last remaining 6 acre beachfront property on the serene side of Grace Bay. I am happy you took time to explore the island, enjoy the Fish Fry and of course the snorkelling. We are also happy that the privacy and quietness, yet close to hotels on either side fit the bill. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you and your friends another time. Team Camilla

Nice Place with some unexpected issues

  • 3 of 5

Our family of four booked the Beachfront Villa for a week in July. Linda was great with check-in and orientation. The house is airy and roomy and inviting. Kitchen stocked well and gas grill works great. Easy 2 minute walk to the beach and a reef just off to the right of the property when you reach the beach that has good snorkeling. There is a gardener/handyman (Edson) on duty from 7-6 that is very helpful. Pool was always very clean. Overall a great place and a great setting. Our issue was we had an unexpected visitor on our third night. There is an alarm in the house and can be set while you are sleeping, and it was set that night. I was awoken just before 5am to some sound, and upon a second noise, jumped out of bed and upon hearing a noise saw movement near the door to my right, where the screen had been cut open and windows removed. i ran to the door and hollered at man as he ran off with a towel over his head and carrying stolen items. We called 911 and the security company and the property manager. The police showed up around 15-20 minutes later. Then the security company and the property manager with other security people arrived. Overall not a huge deal, petty crime is everywhere in the world (beach towels, shoes, fishing shirts stolen since he did not get fully inside), but left us unsettled for the rest of the trip. I do wonder what would have happened if the intruder had made it all the way in the house and then I confronted him and his knife. With two kids asleep in the next room it is scary. The alarm system should have gone off and scared him off but for some reason it did not trigger. The property manager Linda did put on night security for the rest of our trip from 6pm-6am.

On the 6th night of our trip the alarm in the guest house went off at 7am. The security company called us and asked me to go look to see if the second property was OK. It was light so I did get out of bed and check the place out and it was OK. On our last night of our stay, the guest house alarm went off at 6am waking us again. No phone calls this time, and no visits either. The one good thing is the alarm shuts off after 10 minutes.

T&C is a great place, their people very friendly (most of them), we will go back as the diving is great, not sure where we would stay next time, maybe a condo or subdivision.

Owner's Response: Thank you for vacationing at Villa Camilla and your kind compliments of Linda and Edson; we are happy that you enjoyed the island, the house's location and amenities and your desire to return to the Turks and Caicos. We are concerned with the note of an outside intruder. This for us is of great concern as well as to the TCIG police department, who have now taken a keen role in patrolling private villas and hotel areas. While there are no heinous crimes, petty stealing of towels, snorkel gear etc is just a nuisance and since most villas have large grounds, beautiful landscaping and on the beach (our way of life for the past 32 years with no issues) we have taken other security steps to ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests. We are happy that the nightly guard service allowed you a peace of mind. Thank you for following the House Rule of always setting the alarm when leaving the villa or retiring to bed. We continue to welcome guests to Camilla who have had no such incident as you can see in our many reviews and we hope this will be settling for other visitors to our home on the beach and in the sunshine. Warm island regards, TCI Blue Ltd - Property Managers
