There are also mountain bike trails for beginners or to challenge the most experienced. Some of the beginner trails include North Mountain, Double Butte Loop in Papago Park or Brown's Ranch Trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. There are plenty of places to rent mountain bikes in Paradise Valley.

With the desert as inspiration, there are plenty of destination day spas within a short drive that utilize botanicals found in the surrounding Sonoran Desert and take inspiration from Native American traditions.

Providing actvities from water sports to renting kayaks, boats and fishing it's an opportunity to enjoy a different side of the desert.

If it's hot, you can bet there will be interest in floating the lower Salt River just east of the Phoenix metro area. Mild class 1 rapids provide for tubing or paddle boarding.

Moonlight hiking is a new way to see the Sonoran and the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation department offers ranger guided options at various parks.

About the host

Hosted by Travis & Emily

Host profile image
We’re a family of five from the Greater Rochester NY area. We both grew up in Western NY, and although we love the Summer and Fall in NY, we have also come
to love the desert vibe, low humidity, amazing landscape as well as the endless
activities for entertainment and adventure. The people are kind and down to earth in
Phoenix!

Ultimately, the combination of the mountains and being the top spot in the
country for most sunny days per year led us to choose this spot for our retreat
home. Being big sport fans and valuing healthy living sealed the deal!

Enjoy the space and know we’re grateful for your visit with us!

-Travis & Emily
