Charming cabin to stay and play in at the lake. Have fun swimming and fishing on the lake. This property was a campsites and cross-country ski business so there are hundreds of acres of lettered trails off the property for hiking. We have canoes and Kayaks to rent. Very peaceful and pets are welcome.
The ski mountain is 5 minutes away and you can see the slopes from our lake or from the back lawn.

It was a delightful experience- a relaxing weekend. The lake, the cabin, the hospitality, the town, everything was beautiful. We definitely be back soon. Thank you, Melissa
We went to go hike at Kaaterskill falls which is about 20 minutes. We chose to stay with this booking because we fell in love with the scenery and the quietness. The property was great and the owners are fantastic. We will book again!
Stayed in 1 of 3 cabins on the lake, off the beaten path in Windham, NY. Cabin was clean and spacious for the two of us. Towels and linens provided. It had all the essentials for a quick weekend getaway. Most Spectacular view of the lake, listening to the birds, and enjoyed walking the grounds and chatting with one of the owners. My only issue was that I had a hard time finding the exact spot for the hot water in the shower, but with a little help from my partner, a warm shower was had by all. It just takes a bit of patience, which on some days I might lack. If you are looking for a getaway in the Catskills, take the time to discover this little gem. Almost forgot, loved the hot tub to start and finish our days in the Catskills.
The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. overall we had a great experience. Very peaceful. We did not end up using hot tub because we were unaware we would be sharing with others on property but it was not a big deal we still had a nice quiet weekend to unwind. We even found a very nice trail with a beautiful waterfall nearby

The hot tub is shared by 2 other cabins with 2 people in each cabin so a total of 6 people using it. We have never had more than one cabin use the spa at the same time. No one stays in a hot tub for very long so sharing it has never been a problem. The hot tub is a 550 gallon and a normal hot tub is 350 gallons so the hot tub is really large.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The cabin was larger than expected and well furnished. Everything was clean and convenient and the hosts were friendly and responsive.
We loved our stay. The owners were great and property was great.we love the views and the peaceful area. Never been to Windham before and we would definitely go back and use this property. Theres a question on the survey about skiing experience. We did not go for skiing and the question is misleading. We rated that one star because that was not our focus, but we would guess that the place would be good for skiing. We are hikers and we hiked the Escarpment trail which was nice, not too challenging.
Cabin was cute, affordable, and conveniently close to the mountain for skiing. Our main issues were that it was lacking some amenities. There were no cutting boards, the salt was empty, one hand towel in the kitchen and none in the bathroom. There were only 4 bath towels for 4 people when there is also a hot tub, so more would have been preferred. The second night of our stay there was freezing rain and nothing was salted or plowed by 10am, but the owners are very nice and we had a lot of fun staying here.

Hi Ella,
I will speak to my cleaning person about the towels the salt and the cutting board. We have someone new cleaning the cabins so thank you for telling me here. I truly wish you had told me while you were here because I was in the cabin next to yours and I would have gotten those things for you immediately. I even spoke to your group and no one said anything. In the future I recommend that you communicate with the host and get what you need rather than wait until you have left and then leave a bad review.
Dirty cabin, non potable water due to a septic/ sewer mishap. Cabin should never have been rented in this condition. One gallon of water and 1 bag of ice was provided for our 4 day stay- which was cut short to 3 days for impossible living conditions. The host was extremely rude to my guest for bringing a blanket outside for the fire pit evening. We are in our 50’s and we were treated like children, being scolded by the host, who stayed on the property for the visit. Every time we went outside, she would emerge from the camper which was parked on the property. The property, would be peaceful & quiet if it weren’t for the lawn mowing and chainsaw just feet away from the cabin. It appeared they were trying to get us to leave after we open a few bottles of champagne for fire pit evening. I think if the Mormon hosts didn’t approve of drinking, it should have been stated in the listing so we could have found a place more accepting of our lifestyle. The tiny shower had very little water pressure and the “hot” water, was not hot. Just warm. If you are taller than 5 feet 8 inches and weigh more than 200 lbs, you will not fit in the shower .The chairs at the kitchen table were filthy, I would not recommend using the chairs unless you have had a tetanus vaccine shot. This property was the worst place I have ever stayed in.Please, do yourself a favor, do not stay here. Worst VRBO ever. I have never left a bad review, but this cabin was terrible. We left one day early. Not worth it.

I am very sorry that these guests were not happy with their stay. Please read all the other reviews we have on here as well as on the other site that starts with an A and ends with a B. We are super hosts and guests favorites over there. We also have 3 other listings and we are super hosts and guest favorites on those too.
I did ask the guest to not drag the brand new white blanket in the mud outside by the fire pit after it rained. The blanket is now stained and smelling of smoke. I even brought another blanket for them to use outside and they left it in the rain.
We had a new well pump put in and our water is potable but we supply bottled water since the new pump was put in because many prefer bottled water. I tell people we can supply more bottles if they want and to just ask us. They did not ask us.
We are not Mormon and we drink ourselves so I'm not sure what that comment about judging them for drinking was about. I didn't even know they were drinking while they were here.
This is the only bad review we have had and we didn't even know the guest was unhappy while here because they didn't say anything while here so we could have addressed any issues they may have had.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely stay at this cozy cabin on the lake in celebration of our 13th anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to relax with beautiful views! The bed in the living room made for a great movie watching spot, while the bed in the bedroom was super comfortable for nighttime sleep. The cabin is simple with no frills, but it was clean and spacious and met our needs. We appreciated the simplicity of the weekend. We tried fishing from the shore but nothing was biting (probably too cold!) and hiking but the trails leading off the property were hard to find under all the leaves. They didn't seem to be well maintained, but those are on public land, so not the fault of the hosts. We drove to nearby Kaatskill Falls for a nice hike though, and found Windham and Tannersville to have some great restaurants! The rest of the time we cooked our own food in the cabin. All in all, we were pleased with our stay, especially appreciating the beauty of the natural surroundings by the lake and the chance to relax in a cozy cabin!
