About Kamala Heath

We are English transplants who have fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest. The grandchildren love to come and spend time here.We love sharing the cabin with people who really appreciate the beautiful setting. We have spent years upgrading the property. Not easy with over 110 inches of rain a year! We are thrilled that our guests are returning and recommending the

place to their friends. Thank you to all of you and we love your nice comments in the guest book.

Kamala Heath purchased this cabin in 1984

Why Kamala Heath chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

We come here to rest and rejuvenate and leave the city behind. Our family has owned and loved this property for over 30 years. Actually, the property has owned us! Especially the moles! Many of our English relatives have come to visit and are always amazed at the scenery.Last year's favourite memory was of my English buddies from high school sitting around the blazing campfire, late at night, drinks in hand, laughing until we cried. We wish to share this peaceful sanctuary with you.Make sure you take the time to walk the trails and pack a picnic for the beach.

What makes this cabin unique

Tranquility, relaxation, and seclusion. We have enjoyed watching the wildlife in the large yard. The trails are magical. Also the beach-combing,fishing and hunting is pretty good too!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Well i suppose I am a guest now in my own house,as I have to book out the nights I want for myself or my large family.I just want to say a "thank you" to all my returning guests. They must have meant it when they wrote in the guest book "we'll be back" I just had a call from a family coming back for the 5th time. I am a pretty easy drive from the Seattle and Tacoma areas. Their comment was "we have found our retreat and recharge place" It makes me so happy to share the family cabin and the incredible rain forest with gentle nature-loving people. Please continue to leave your fun comments in the guest book and I do appreciate it when you send a review into VRBO. I know you read them when making your travel plans. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon. Kamala.

How Valley Hideaway is a very special place. Perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at Kamela's unique and comfortable home. She graciously greeted us and showed us around. She is such a thoughtful hostess and provided us with useful advice. There's a wonderful trail in the rainforest behind the house. Delightful. It is such a peaceful, beautiful spot. Highly recommend. It would be great for families too.

beautiful property, great for families

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four enjoyed 2 nights here in mid July. The property is beautiful and secluded and makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you still have the convenience of groceries and gas in Forks. Our kids loved having their own private hiking trails which the owner obviously takes great care in maintaining. The grill was great and the outdoor shower is a work of art. We went to Ruby Beach for tide pooling and sunset the first night, hiked in the Hoh Rainforest the next day, and did the Hole in the Wall hike from Rialto beach the morning we left - all highly recommended - make sure you check tide charts (thoughtfully provided in the cabin) for the beach hikes.

Secluded haven to explore the rain forest

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 night with our two young children and found this home to be a great location from which to explore both the Hoh Rainforest and Ruby Beach areas. The rain forest is at the back door, and we had as much fun exploring the short nature trails on the property as we did in the Park. The home is simple but stocked full of everything you need, including some toys and entertainment. It has plenty of open outdoor space for little ones to run around along with the trails. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

Very comfortable place in a beautiful rainforest atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable house with two bedrooms and a fold out couch (futon) in the living room ; tasteful pictures/fotos at the walls and useful literature and maps to learn more about the area. The kitchen is also very well equipped to prepare meals. Wonderful well groomed surroundings with comfortable tracks into the rain forest. Absolutely quiet, a perfect place for recreation.

We enjoyed our stay, had sunny wheather.

Thank you , Kamala!

Amazing rainforest gem

  • 5 of 5

Hoh Valley Hideaway is a precious find. The location is ideal for exploration of the park - but even if you decided to stay put for a week, you wouldn't be missing out. The cottage is fully equipped and touched with the sweetness of someone who loves the place more than anyone. Kamala is a wonderful hostess and has thought of your every need. Our family of 5 - including 2 not-so-easy-to-please teenagers - loved it and can't wait to return.

We highly recommend HVH!
