About Kamala Heath

We are English transplants who have fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest. The grandchildren love to come and spend time here.We love sharing the cabin with people who really appreciate the beautiful setting. We have spent years upgrading the property. Not easy with over 110 inches of rain a year! We are thrilled that our guests are returning and recommending the place to their friends. Thank you to all of you and we love your nice comments in the guest book.

Kamala Heath purchased this cabin in 1984

Why Kamala Heath chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

We come here to rest and rejuvenate and leave the city behind. Our family has owned and loved this property for over 25 years. Actually, the property has owned us! Especially the moles! Many of our English relatives have come to visit and are always amazed at the scenery.Last year's favourite memory was of my English buddies from high school sitting around the blazing campfire, late at night, drinks in hand, laughing until we cried. We wish to share this peaceful sanctuary with you.Make sure you take the time to walk the trails and pack a picnic for the beach.

What makes this cabin unique

Tranquility, relaxation, and seclusion. We have enjoyed watching the wildlife in the large yard. The trails are magical. Also the beach-combing,fishing and hunting is pretty good too!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Well i suppose I am a guest now in my own house,as I have to book out the nights I want for myself or my large family.I just want to say a "thank you" to all my returning guests. They must have meant it when they wrote in the guest book "we'll be back" I just had a call from a family coming back for the 5th time. I am a pretty easy drive from the Seattle and Tacoma areas. Their comment was "we have found our retreat and recharge place" It makes me so happy to share the family cabin and the incredible rain forest with gentle nature-loving people. Please continue to leave your fun comments in the guest book and I do appreciate it when you send a review into VRBO. I know you read them when making your travel plans. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon. Kamala.

Great stay for our fishing trip

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful and spacious. Perfect to let our dog run and park a drift boat. It is located near many of the rivers for fishing but not too far from Forks for groceries. The house itself was very clean and was stocked with everything we could possibly need. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Quaint little cottage-your own sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed 2 nights at this cabin. It is totally secluded from everything/everyone. It was nice to be able to walk on the trails and have your own space. The cabin is set up to have everything you need and Kamila has thought of everything. The first thing you notice is how clean everything is and this is usually a big deal for me as I'm kind of picky when it comes to cleanliness. We loved our stay here.

Magical vacation get away

  • 5 of 5

Stayed the week of June 4th, 2017

If you are out there looking for a place to stay in the Forks vicinity, stop. Your search is over. Book a stay at Kamala's Hoh Valley Hideaway. I guarantee you will not regret it. We have stayed at some beautiful VRBO's and Hoh Valley Hideaway is the best one we have ever stayed at. How can you beat a lovely cabin situated on 24, count 'em, 24 acres of a mini rain forest? And gated to boot.

After passing through the gate and driving up a charming lane you come upon a HUGE lawn on which the cabin, gazebo, and outdoor shower are located. This is surrounded by forest with trails running throughout. The cozy cabin has two bedrooms, a nice bathroom, and a fully stocked kitchen with every possible utensil, cooking item, or dish you would ever need. There are electric base board heaters and portable heaters available to warm up the cabin when necessary. Although we were too busy exploring the Olympic National Park and surrounding areas to use them, Kamala has provided tons of board games and movies as well. Technology is represented by the presence of wifi which is balanced by Kamala's old school hand written notes and maps situated throughout the cabin. Nice touch!

I should also mention that not only will you be on your own 24 acre secluded property, the drive down Oil City Road to the beach through the forest passes by only a couple of visible houses adding to the mystical feeling of a private vacation hideaway. A short hike takes you to the beach which we had all to ourselves. Due to its unadvertised location ( and small parking area) I would imagine that you would not except to have to share the beach with too many others. Vacation hint: My favorite activity in Olympic National Park was the 3.2 mile RT Hurricane Hill Trail at Hurricane Ridge that takes you up amongst the peaks with wonderful mountain views.

There is one downside to the property and that is eventually you have to leave. We will always remember our magical stay at Hoh Valley Hideaway. .

Magical place

  • 4 of 5

Location, location, location. If you want to have total privacy, surrounded by rain forest, and only a short drive away from Olympic National Park, this place is perfect. The property with its nature trails is amazing.

The cabin itself is very cozy and comfortable. It is well maintained and shows the owners' tender loving care. It was immaculately clean.

Don't expect any stylish, modern ,upscale furnishings or amenities, though. Everything feels a bit outdated .It is a simple cabin, but has everything you'll need. We loved it.

This is the most wonderful getaway cabin! First the location is fabulous...everything you want to see on the peninsula is much closer Kalaloch..Ruby Beach...Forks....Neah Bay you can see most things easily. Second, the grounds and cabin itself are fantastic! You literally feel like you are submerged in the rainforest. The cabin is quirky and quaint and has everything you need to feel at home.....literally pretty much everything even internet access. The outdoor shower is something you cant miss! Last and most important the owner! I never got to meet her but I can tell you that she is an angel that has a zest for life and truly loves the PNW just like anyone that calls this place home does. I will definitely be making this a annual retreat and would Highly recommend you don't miss this diamond in the rough

Beautiful property with cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here! The property is amazing and excellent for kids. Our kids, ages 2,4,&6, had fun playing on all the toys outside, going on the trails, and experiencing the rain forest.

We will definitely come back! We checked out today and the kids are asking if we can come back tomorrow!

This cabin is private and far enough from town to get away from it all but close enough to go grab anything you may need.

I literally cannot say enough about this place and how great it is. Kamela is professional, helpful, & caring. Book it and enjoy your stay!
