My family stayed at this property for our Christmas vacation on the big island and it was amazing! Heather was super attentive, responsive and helpful about all things related to the property as well as recs around the island! Thank you Heather for a wonderful stay!
Beautiful property, set in Beautiful surroundings, over looking the Pacific Ocean. Property equipped with everything you could ever need to fully enjoy this tranquil spot in Paradise. The whole process of booking and communication from the hosts was exceptional. A huge thank you to Heather and the rest of the team for a memorable vacation. Pam & Gary - UK
The house and grounds were even better than expected. The camera can never do Justice to the vibrant colors of Hawai’i and staying at Aolani cottage proves it.
My husband and I were in Kona to squeeze in our honeymoon before the 1 yr date and watched our friend compete in Ironman. This was the perfect location to enjoy both.
If we stay in Kona again, we will be booking Aolani Cottage!!!!
This cottage was absolutely flawless and was one of our all time favorite vacation rentals. The cottage was spotless, the view was spectacular, and the area was so wonderfully peaceful and quiet.
There was plenty of beach gear provided, including a 10ft canopy that has permanently spoiled us. The kitchen was well stocked and included just about everything you'd need for a vacation stay. We loved the welcome package with macadamia nuts, chocolate, and coffee as well.
Heather was very responsive and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better experience here and of course we didn't want to leave!
Definitely book this place, you will not be disappointed!
We greatly enjoyed spending our honeymoon at the Aolani Coffee Cottage! It has the best of both worlds- the space, privacy and full kitchen of a rental, but also resort amenities (robes, concierge, hot tub, etc…). The accommodations were tastefully designed and very clean. We enjoyed the amenities- especially the outdoor shower, fire pit and hot tub! The robes were a nice touch too. We also utilized the concierge services and booked a private chef (Chef Gabrielle) and a snorkeling tour through Heather and Sheila. All were a lot of fun and went super smooth. The location felt private and secluded. We absolutely loved the ‘rainforest’ type nature sounds at night (from the rain and frogs), but this could perhaps be too loud for some. Be sure to rent a car (ideally 4WD)! You will need it to access all of the fun things the big island has to offer from this spot. We hope to return to Aolani sometime soon!
Loved the cottage, it was well-appointed with lots of boutique hotel touches. Everything we needed
We were very relaxed in this rental that misses no small details for comfort and luxury. Sunsets over the coffee plants and the ocean. Stocked with everything we needed to truly experience the Kona region. A true haven to come back to after a day on the water.
My husband and I stayed here for a week and absolutely enjoyed the stay! Thanks to Heather and Sheila, they took great care to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. The hottub and BBQ grill was great!
Beautiful sunsets every evening and conveniently located to nearby stores. Plenty of amenities included! Heather has thought about every small detail and had them available to make the stay extra comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place!
Just as pictured, wonderful detail! We stayed two weeks and loved every minute. It's so nice and cool up in Holualoa, great view and location. Peaceful, scerene, the outdoor shower is fabulous! Very comfortable memory foam bed, so important! 12 min to Kona, or Kealakekua towns, great place to get bfast or lunch. We love the calm jungle vibe up here, one of our favorite things is the drive up mauka to the house! Once you find the house, take the more scenic routes up:) Heather is amazing and great at communicating. Very easy check in/out. Both bedrooms are gorgeous. I loved the double wall of sliders in the master, it was almost like being outside! You can see ocean in bed! Hot tub was great after a long day of exploring. Clean and well maintained. There's a ton of beach gear, snorkels, fins, tommy Bahama chairs, boogie boards, even beach tent and sun shades! Nice washer dryer in covered outside area, as they do in Hawaii. We loved the covered car port. The covered lanai area is so comfortable and what a sunset view! So private, nobody can see you, surrounded by gorgeous jungle and coffee plants! It's your own slice of heaven. A quiet, private setting is important to me and this property is lovely. All you can see from the cottage is the roof of the main house above you. We would absolutely stay here over and over!!

If arriving at night, it's a little tricky as there are no street lamps but our GPS got us there. Also really dark going down the long drive to get to the cottage a few little lights to show the way would be great. Tried the code on the front door, didn't work but then we noticed all the sliding glass doors were unlocked and open. The cottage was exactly as the pix show, spotlessly clean, extremely well appointed and beautiful. Everything is thought of, if there was a little end table for between the chaises and the bed was a king that would made it perfect. But those are very small wishes. It was a gorgeous cottage and I highly recommend it.
Beautiful location, quiet and private. Great rental with all the amenities. Spotless and well stocked kitchen and bathrooms too. Certainly you need a rental car in this location, but the peace and tranquility can’t be beat! Great food just a few miles drive away. Would definitely return.
The best place to stay in Kona. The property is spotless and has everything you need. Beach chairs, towels, umbrella are all provided. Kitchen has anything you want, coffee and a lot of spices are in the cabinets. Fun hot tub, hammock and patio for relaxing and watching the wild black pigs with ocean views. Very short drive to great restaurants and beaches.
Great location off the beaten track, but convenient
Heather, the host, is super accommodating. This is our third visit to this property, it's that good. The kitchen is well equipped and big enough for serious meals. The beds are comfortable. The outdoor shower to use before hot tubbing is very nice. The property is about 1200 feet above sea level, directly uphill from Kahalu'u Beach Park, which is very good for snorkeling. You won't be disappointed.
Private, Charming, EXCELLENT Kitchen Facility and Supplies
Located just 10 minutes and about 100 years away from the hustle and bustle of Alii Blvd and Krazy Kona, the Aolani Coffee Cottage is a restful retreat with stunning ocean views and 5-Star* sunsets from the hot tub, a handsomely-appointed kitchen, and a comfortably furnished and decorated interior scheme. The kitchen is well-provisioned with most all the basic and not-so-basic supplies: olive oil, vinagers, condiments, spices, fresh whole coffee beans and a good selection of coffee-brewing equipment, ample towels, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cookware. While the cottage doesn't have A/C and late afternoon sun can poke its delicate fingers into the furthest corners of the house, the remote-controlled draw-down awnings and ceiling fans keep the heat at bay. (Besides that, you're in Hawaii, not Minnesota, and isn't that the point?) Picturesque Holualoa-town is a comfortable 2 1/2 mile stroll from the cottage; plan to have breakfast at the Holualoa Cafe and be back to the cottage in time to pack a light lunch and head down to nearby La'aloa (Mgic Sands) Beach, or, if you're in the mood for turtles and snorkeling, drive another couple of minutes to Kahalu'u Beach Park. Shopping, groceries, dining, and entertainment are all within 15 minute's drive -- have the best of everything: Old Hawaii at home, and bustling modern Kona at your fingertips. *Our Five-Star Sunsets featured planets Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn and the crescent moon settling into the rosy embrace of a stunning sunset -- every night, Oct. 31 - Nov 4 2019. Only one thing: Chefs, bring a sharp knife of your own. You know that already.
We had a pretty nice stay at Kona and enjoyed it very much. The house is amazing and offers all you need. Just the frogs where the one's that in the beginning disturb us a little bit but after the first night you get used to it :-)
WOW! We loved the cottage, the grounds, the view and the amenities. Everything was well laid out, great instructions how to use everything, beach stuff left to use was a nice touch. The cottage was so comfortable. We stay at a lot of places and this one was the best one ever! Great response from Heather with any questions. A real gem!
My wife, myself, and another couple stayed here for a few nights in Kona, and we absolutely loved it. It's the cutest cottage and a lot of care and detail went into decorating and constructing it. You can tell it's a bit over the top because there has to be more switches in the tiny kitchen and living room than my entire house back home!
Check in was a breeze, we never heard the neighbors in the big house next door, the view was pretty awesome, and the covered carport was perfect for rainy days.
The hot tub was great at night, and the patio fantastic for lounging on in the morning and evening. I absolutely LOVED the outdoor shower, and wish I could get one in my own home. It was nice to be able to shower outside in the evenings or mornings and feel immediately connected with nature.
The town was a short 10-15 minute drive away.
The only complaint or note I have for prospective renters is to bring earplugs, because you're going to need to leave the windows/doors open for air at night (there are screens), but there are some very noisy frogs at night that could keep you up. Not a problem for me as a heavy sleeper, but I think it bothered some of my roomies =].
