Stay at Watson’s Rose Lake Resort in a modern vacation apartment on the upper level of a historic inn along the White Pine Scenic Byway, 25 miles east of Coeur d’Alene. Three bedrooms and bunk area can accommodate up to eight people. There is an open kitchen stocked with everything you need except for the food. Two bathrooms one tub/shower. There is plenty of parking for your RV or boat.
Rail to trail cyclists will find us conveniently located between Harrison and Kellogg, Idaho, just two miles from the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes and 40 minutes by car from the Route of the Hiawatha. The inn is located at the base of Fourth of July Pass, where backpackers, ATV riders, and Nordic skiers will find a network of trails to explore. But you don’t have to go anywhere to have a great time at this relaxed and informal getaway. Float a boat, water ski, swim, or wet a line in Rose Lake, just steps away from the resort. Fry up your catch on the barbecue grill on the deck and take in the beautiful views of the lake and surrounding forest.
In winter, the Inland Northwest becomes a snow playground. Downhill skiers and boarders can use Watson’s as central base from which to sample the area’s five ski mountains: Silver Mountain, Lookout Pass, Schweitzer, Mount Spokane and 49 Degrees North. Nordic skiers can experience miles of trails just up the hill on Fourth of July Pass.
Also available is a complete “Rustic Bar” that can accommodate up to 50 persons (must be 21) along with bartender in your own private setting. (May not be available on certain days depending on season). The bar and lounge closes at 9:45pm sharp when guests are staying overnight.
There are also two small rustic cabins. Please contact us for information on these separate units.

Beautiful country and close to all the city activities if needed or desired.
Privacy, remoteness, absolute beauty of the outdoors yet all the comforts of home.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the facilities and a great stay and great time. Hope to see you again soon.
Watsons Rose Lake Lodge is the place to stay for a quiet retreat. The lodge is located above an old tavern and has been fully remodeled with all the amenities. It is tucked away just up the hill from the boat landing. And is within a 30 mile drive to Coeur D' Alene. After playing all day....kayaks, paddle boards, swimming, it was a pleasure to come back to the Lodge and enjoy the camaraderie of a campfire. The Lodge has comfortable queen size beds, a set of bunks for the kids, an adequate, stocked kitchen and dining area for us to sleep and feed the adults and children in our group. The washer and dryer was nice to clean up swim suits and towels. And with 90 degree day time temperatures, was nice to have air conditioning. One thing to note, is the Lodge is off the grid with no access to Internet. However, the lodge care takers, Joe and Yvonne, were wonderful in providing all the information we needed about the area. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Our stay was too short. The facilities were wonderful and the Resort was beautiful. Hope to stay longer next time. Thank you John. Vicky and the biking ladies.
Not only was this a wonderful little place but the service from John as well as the caretaker were second to NONE! A very nice, comfortable & CLEAN place. My whole family stayed together comfortably & had every convenience needed! Even enjoyed watching one of the movies provided while playing one of the many board games available! FULL kitchen & all amenities! If you're attending a Wedding in St Maries like we did ... this is not too far out & MUCH nicer than you'll find anywhere close to this. VERY much enjoyed our stay!
My friends and I stayed at the Rose Lake Resort while biking the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. It was very clean, had everything we needed, and was very cozy. The area is perfect for riding the trail from a central location (~35 miles from Plummer and 20 from Kellogg) and the rental is only about 2 miles from the trail. The lake is gorgeous and the area is very quiet. John was very accommodating and friendly as well! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonable place to stay in a beautiful area.
My friend and I recently stayed in a Rose Lake cabin while biking the Trail of the Couer d'Alenes. We biked the trail and back in 5 days, staying at Rose Lake Resort on the way and on our way back, carrying our panniers the whole way. Not bad for two 65 year old ladies used to having their husbands around to help!
The cabin is very comfortable, nicely decorated and includes a small fridge and coffee pot. We opted to use the fan over the air-conditioning. Accommodations are sparse along the west end of the Trail so we were very, very grateful to John for accommodating us and keeping in touch with us. We wanted to do the trail without carrying tents and sleeping bags and Rose Lake was a good halfway mark for us. One of the biggest treats at Rose Lake was the nesting pair of ospreys and we got to see at least one little baby osprey head before we left!!!
We fell in love with the Trail of the Couer d'Alenes for it's amazing beauty, bird-watching, and wildlife, but also because we met kind and friendly people all along our way. To name a few--the ladies at the Brewed Awakenings in Pinehurst, the Fish and Wildlife Ranger outside of Pinehurst(thanks to him we spotted our first moose!), John, the campground host at Heyburn State Park, the staff at Brooks Hotel in Wallace who were sympathetic and helpful when my bike broke down and we weren't sure where to turn for help. We found out there was a free bus in the county so the next morning we rode to Kellogg with our bikes on the front and John at Excelsior Cycle was also very kind and fixed my bike, charging me an extremely reasonable amount. Hmmmm, by coincidence we seemed to have come across several trail angels named John!!!
We found that a good part of the fun were the people we met on the trail, including the 3 Czech couples from Canada, many other fellow bikers, and several nice folks in stores along the way in Harrison, Kellogg, Wallace....
We look forward to returning to this area again!!! We'll even bring our husbands next time!!!
