PROS & CONS

  • 3 of 5

THE BEDROOMS AND LIVING ROOMS WERE BEAUTIFUL; HOWEVER, THE TOILETS IN THE HOUSE WERE NOT CLEANED - WITH FECES STILL ON THE STOOL AND UNCLEANED TOILET BOWLS. THE DECKING HAD NAILS PERTRUDING AS THEY WERE NOT PROPERLY SANK, CAUSING INJURY TO ONE OF OUR GUESTS. ON A SCALE OF 1-10, I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A "5".

Owner's Response: James, thanks for the review, we appreciate the review. It is possible that we overlooked something during the cleaning however the water in that area does have a lot of iron in it and it discolors the toilet bowls, they are clean they just look rusty. Also we try to keep up on the decks and issues like nails. This spring we power washed all the decks and stained the top deck. Nails were addressed at that time but they do pop up from time to time. We have staff on call 24/7 during the summer with our contact information posted on the refrigerator in every property that we manage. If you should ever see anything that needs attention we are just a phone call away! Thanks for noticing the recent work we have completed! We added new furniture, carpet and paint to the living room in the spring of 2017, painted the kitchen and dining area as well, fixed the leak in the living room window as well as some other projects. Next year we will stain the lower deck, paint the bedrooms and hopefully replace the carpet on the lower level. Please remember that we are a full service property management company and have staff that can address any issues or problems that may arise. Thanks again! Russell Burdette Your Lake Vacation Owner

property not well maintained

  • 2 of 5

While the view from the deck is stunning, the property is not properly maintained/cleaned and therefore this is completely overpriced. My family stayed here August 1-8, 2015 and I was shocked by the level of disrepair the house is in. There are cracks and stains everywhere. The couch is ripped. There are scuffs and holes in the walls. The deck has loose boards and nails sticking out everywhere. There is a spot on the deck that has boards missing that a child could fall down and it is a steep incline down. The inside stairs going to the downstairs area have pieces coming off. All of the window seals are broken, so you wake up every morning to moisture and fog in between the panes instead of the view shown. One of the main floor windows (behind the TV) has so much water damage and corrosion that it is seeping into the carpet. On top of all the damage, it was just not clean. The deck and outside badly need power washed...there is dirt, bugs and algae everywhere. I understand that this house is on the lake, and you are going to get a certain level of "dirty" but this was excessive. There were beer cans all over the property. There was, what looked like wine, that was spilt all over the rail and decking that was not cleaned up. Cigarette butts everywhere. The bedding in the upstairs master was clearly not washed. The dryer does not dry clothes. There are 2 grills on the patio... one is broken and so disgusting, but apparently they are just going to leave it there. We were promised full propane and a reserve tank...one tank was empty and one was half full. There are 3 coffee pots on site, 2 of them don't work and one takes about an hour and a half to brew one pot. Microwave does not heat up food. There are not enough utensils to support the 16 people this property is supposed to sleep. The ladder on the swim platform is missing and that makes it almost impossible for anyone to get out of the lake. If you choose to stay here, bring ALL of your own stuff...the garbage bags don't hold garbage, the towels are junky, the soap doesn't foam, and the toilet paper is like sand paper. I don't want to completely trash this property...we had fun. We just feel that for the price we paid, it should have been better maintained, cleaner and the "amenities" were unacceptable. It was like camping...a place to sleep, on the water with a decent location. But, the view is pretty incredible.
