About John Brunton
We are the third generation of our family to own and operate Hewitt House vacation rentals and pride ourselves in creating a vacation atmosphere that encourages people to return year after year.
John Brunton purchased this House in 1927
Why John Brunton chose Seaview
The Long Beach peninsula in SW Washington State is a popular vacation destination with it's unique features of beaches that can be driven on, pristine water, beautiful forests, historic Oysterville, excellent dining opportunities, clamming, fishing/crabbing, boating, kayaking, birding, hiking and lighthouses.
What makes this House unique
This home was originally built for Portland, OR stationer, J.K. Gill, as a summer home. It came into our family in 1927 and was extensively remodeled and upgraded in 1998 - 1999 by a local architect/builder keeping it's original style but adding more modern conveniences.

Hewitt House Big House
Very nice house. Clean. Fully stocked with linens and kitchen items. We love the bike path that runs parallel to the beach.
I liked the lighthouse and beach decorations.
Great location and very user-friendly rental! Thos initially is well equipped for all my needs. The outdoor cleaning station is a real time saver for cleaning our catch!
Holiday get away
Always has been one the most unique property's we have stayed at when going to the beach. Location & amenities is what brings us back each time.
Thanks, Doug & Kelly. We appreciate you being a multi-repeat customer! We have to agree that our home is unique in that we provide an outdoor fish/clam cleaning sink, close proximity to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We offer a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, cable tv, WiFi, fenced yard, lighted off-street parking, full sized appliances including a washer/dryer and a nice propane fireplace in the living room to knock off the chill on those cooler days/nights. See you next clam dig!
Grateful for this Beautiful Property
This was our family’s first Christmas staying in a rental and it was wonderful! The location was perfect - seconds from the beach and restaurants. The house was so cozy, warm and comfortable. A perfect experience. The wi-fi on some of our devices was a little tricky sometimes, but nothing too stressful.
Thanks, Jean. It was a pleasure hosting you and we are thankful for your review. We had just replaced the living room sofa and chair with brand new Flexsteel brand pieces which have served us well in both of our rentals over the years and proved to be most comfortable. Hope you also enjoyed our spacious and well lit off-street parking as well as the fenced yard. We are blessed to have such a nice and quiet location so close to restaurants and the ocean. We look forward to having you back!
Excellent location. Clean, well stocked home
Second bath is not attached to main house, must go outside to access. Minor inconvenience for a fun house to stay in.
Close to Lighthouses, Museum, Amusement Park, Shopping and Historic Oysterville. 20 Minute Drive to Astoria, OR.
