We’re relatively new to the PNW and this was our first trip to Seaview/Long Beach. The house is in a perfect location- walking distance to the beach, easy access to the Discovery Trail (incredible bike trail), and several local restaurants nearby. The house and property are well-maintained. Everything was in excellent working order and the owners are super responsive. We’ll definitely stay here again!! Thanks for sharing your home! We had a lovely time staying at Hewitt House. We felt very safe during that incredible wind storm — never heard the wind whistling through and nothing shook. Your kitchen is marvelously stocked with everything a good cook needs. Thank you for all your considerations. The bright lights in the kitchen made it a favorite room for conversation and games. Perhaps some brighter lights in the other rooms would help show off the wonderful watercolor paintings and lend to easier reading for the eyes. We are watercolorists and the paintings along with a trip to Eric Weigardt’s studio was a great addition to our stay. Thank you again for providing a wonderful and affordable vacation home. And, our two greyhounds loved running in the yard. Dorothy - Tacoma, WA

We had a great vacation at the Hewitt House! The weather was great! We spent every day on our boat that we moored in Ilwaco, but it was sure nice to have the house to come back to. Especially with the nice back patio to BBQ on! Thank you so much. The new gas fireplace is beautiful too. Thank you again. We have great family memories to remember forever! Michelle - Camas, WA
We loved staying at your house. No one wanted to leave! There were so many things we liked about it! My family goes to the beach about 3 times a year and we always try new houses and motels but we definitely found one that beats everything else. We look forward to staying there every time it’s available. Looks like we will be returning in October sometime if it’s not booked! It’s really great to have such a nice comfy house for such a good price. Keep it up! Thank you. Maggie – Longview, WA
Charming furnishings with many pictures by our acquaintance Charles Mulvey, comfy beds, roomy and well equipped kitchen, quiet nights, close to beach and market all combined to make our Seaview stay most enjoyable. And thanks for ordering those sunny days! Gary – Seattle, WA
We’ve just returned and had a wonderful time. It was probably so good because of your quality assurance work via requests for feedback like this email. We had no trouble finding you (we’ve stayed on the peninsula many times over many decades and your directions were very clear) and the mechanics of reservations, policies, etc were all A-OK. It was very thoughtful to have the fire starter, tinder, birch and fir. The kitchen had everything we needed, beds and seating were very comfortable and we felt right at home. Many might not care, but having the enclosed yards and the areas across the road to play with our dog was FABULOUS! Thanks for being such good hosts—you’ll be seeing us again. All the best, Bob and Valerie

We have stayed at the Hewitt house quite a few times and love it. We always go crabbing and the back yard makes cooking and cleaning the crab a piece of cake.

We appreciate your repeat business and kind reviews. Our fish/seafood cleaning sink gets used often as does the freezer we provide for our guests catches. We look forward to your return!
Beautiful property. Beds super comfy and extra quiet for sleeping. Lots of wonderful areas nearby to explore and on rainy days the house was a cozy spot to read a book! Host was responsive yet respectful of our privacy. Humans and doggie give this 5 stars Thank you.

Thank you for your gracious review. We are so glad you were able to take advantage of our gas fireplace on those rainy days and get out and enjoy the beautiful peninsula when it wasn't raining!
We felt like we were staying at a friend's beach house while they were away. Although we ate out, everything was available for cooking or BBQ. We could hear the beach from our bedrooms and the charming front porch, Host replied quickly to any message. Guest book showed people returned year after year. I can see why.

Thank you, Robin. It blesses us when our guests enjoy their time in our home on the Long Beach peninsula in SW Washington. Many guests become friends and do return not only year after year but sometimes multiple times a year! Hope to see you back too.
The house is absolutely amazing! There are rocking chairs on the front porch that are great for watching the sunset. There's also a nice, extremely easy to use, fireplace to warm up to after the beach. We enjoyed the beach access, as well. It was just about a 5 minute stroll to the beach along a sidewalk. Plus, there was a giant gravelled lot across the street from the house that could easily accommodate 3 cars. If you're looking for a comfortable stay, and don't mind double beds, this would be the perfect place to stay!

Thank you so much for staying with us and for your kind review. Being an older, though nicely remodeled, home, our bedrooms are too small for larger beds. The beds we have get rave reviews for comfort though! Glad you enjoyed the nice gas fireplace, fenced yard, short walk to he beach, large parking lot, and quiet neighborhood.
Nice property. It might be hard for a large group for an extended time due to lack of storage. Lots of little rules and to do’s. All reasonable but there were a lot and it was a bit annoying

Thank you for your feedback. We have hosted larger groups without storage being raised as an issue. We do ask guests to wash their dishes, take out their garbage, and start a load of towels if the washing machine is available.
We loved the fireplace and there was plenty of seating around to enjoy it. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very organized and everything was very neat and clean. We appreciated the short, paved walk to the beach.
Beautifully renovated historic house right next to beach, private and peaceful. Lots of amenities on site, loved the sink in back for cleaning razor clams! Can't wait to stay again!

What makes this property unique
This home was originally built for Portland, OR stationer, J.K. Gill, as a summer home. It came into our family in 1927 and was extensively remodeled and upgraded in 1998 - 1999 by a local architect/builder keeping it's original style but adding more modern conveniences.
