Mullins Log Cabin 1850s rustic cabin near Ark Sits on 5 ac
15 min to ARK
My cabin is now closed for Winter. I will reopen in mid April, around the 18th. When you book my cabin, you'll enjoy a quiet neighborhood in the country. If you are a camper, you're going to love it. listen to the tree frogs, crickets, and birds. Expect country things, an ant, fly, bee, wasp. My point. you're in the country, don't expect to find a Jacuzzi or hot tub. Do expect to find a clean shower and clawfoot tub and clean chemical commode. You'll also find sweet smelling sheets and blankets on your bed. I have recently updated my pet rules. I will allow one non shedding dog. please keep it crated while you're away at the ARK. My cabin rents for $90 per night, plus taxes. Attention: PLEASE READ!!! Recently, Guest did not stay, after realizing i have a CHEMICAL COMMODE. These are found on RVs and big boats. I keep it sanitary, cleaning with Lysol and other sanitary products. The majority of my guests have no problem, especially guests that are campers, and sleep in tents. It has fireplace and outdoor furniture. and firepit Great place for children to run and play. My cabin has window AC plus a circulating fan. Plus 3 electric heaters to keep cabin and bathhouse warm and cozy. My cabin Has a kitchenette, 2 burner hotplate, pots and pans, refrigerator, microwave. I'm 15 minutes from the ARK. Guests love the country atmosphere. Please read ALL!! descriptions and look at all pictures. My cabin has ONE bed in loft and ONE Queen SOFABED downstairs. Please note!! Stairs are STEEP going to loft bedroom, but has a sturdy hand rail. Sleeps comfortably 4 people, but room for 2 sleeping bags if you have a large family. I recently have available a small outdoors portable grill with charcoal.

This is a quaint little getaway. It is very clean , the hostess , very accommodating. The only thing that makes it a little challenging. And we knew up front was the bathroom accommodations are about the back door and into the bathhouse, which is right next door 3 steps away.I would actually stay there again if I came to kentucky
Great place for my wife and I to stay for a 33rd Anniversary getaway. We love the cabin. Makes us want one of our own. Close to the Ark encounter and creation museum, which was the main reason for finding this place.

Thanks so much for your great review. I do hope you can come back soon, maybe this Fall.
The reason im late responding to your review, my phone was acting up, and i couldn't get it to send my comments until today!!!
The entire experiance was great. The kids loved the cabin and splashing around in the creek. The cabin and bathhouse were both exceptionally clean. We stayed the last week of July, and I was initially concerned the window ac unit would not be able to keep up. I was pleasantly surprised the interior of the cabin was able to mantain a pleasant reprieve from the heat during the day and provide a very comfortable sleeping condition at night.

Thanks for
the great review. Thanks for leaving everything in great shape! Sure hope you and family can come back again!!
I was very relaxed and enjoyed my visits to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, antique shop looking, and sight seeing in Williamstown and Cynthiana. The cabin was my home away from home for a week. I loved the pioneer experience of the rustic cabin, the beautiful open areas of the property and the creek. (I wished I was better at campfire building so I could have roasted some marshmallows.)If a guest is expecting hotel accommodations, please look at other locations. I imagined and marveled on how the early settlers lived. Thank you, Judy, for your story on how the cabin became a wonderful experience that you share.

Thank you so much for staying, Verna. I hope you can come back again, hopefully in the Spring!!
This place is absolutely gorgeous and Ms. Judy is such a gem! She met us there and showed us everything we needed. She was so incredibly sweet and very accommodating. She even invited us to church with her, which was such a wonderful little church and service. The cabin itself was breathtaking! From the antique decor, to the cabin itself, all the flowers, and the beautiful scenic views every part was charming and like stepping into history! Very well maintained and very clean! She even makes sure you have milk, water, cereal, coffee, ECT. If we ever get back to this part of the country we will definitely be back! Thank you Ms. Judy!!‘"

Louis, Thank you so much, for a wonderful review! I was so glad that you and your family could attend my church this morning. Have a safe trip back home!!!!!
Beautiful setting. Cabin is clean and rustic! Judy was gracious and a joy to meet. Great communication. She is also an artist! The only thing i coukd suggest for a major improvement (for us older folks) would be a nice foam topper for bed. Otherwise loved our stay!
This was such a special place to stay! My friend and I live far apart and met in the middle at the cabin to have a visit and go to the ARK encounter. Judy was very helpful and great to communicate with! The cabin is so cute and cozy and there is a stream right in the backyard. It's really beautiful countryside! It is very rustic, so it would be a good choice if you like nature and camping and getting away to somewhere quiet and peaceful. Wonderful experience!

Thanks Ernie, for your kind words. Im glad you enjoyed yourself.
Please come back again, and tell your friends that like the rustic atmosphere, to come on down to Mullins Log Cabin !!
Beautiful, quiet area; takes you back to a time when log cabins prevailed. Clean, historical and wonderfully authentic. Would absolutely stay there again. Judy is an excellent host!
I was born and raised on the farm near my cabin. I have children. Grandchildren, and great grandchildren . Im 82 years old. But like to keep active. Im a crafter. I make baskets, handmade soaps, and healing salves. I work one day a week for a friend that has an antique store. I greet all my guests as they arrive. I think it's rude to not welcome each new guests. Im available to answer any questions, that my guests might have during their stay.
Why they chose this property
The property where my cabin sits. Originally belonged to my great grandfather. This is a quiet neighborhood. Guests remark about it being so peaceful and quiet. I have good neighbors. Always good to help out if needed. I just love country life. Where you can see the stars and fireflies at night. Several years ago. A family arrived after dark. A little child jumped out of car and said Look Mom you can see the stars." Being in the country, I see all kinds of animals. Early mornings or late evenings. I often see deer. I sometimes see Blue Heron along the creek. Sometimes wild turkeys. Chipmunks, etc Don't worry. We don't have bears!!
What makes this property unique
Im unique. Im the only person in our county that owns an 1850s log cabin rental. We do have a few people that have prefab cabins. Don't worry. I do have AC and fans when it's hot, and electric heaters when it's cold. I started my business 34 years ago. At that time, I only had oil lamps and candles, and no electricity! In the past, I have had guests that thought i had dirt floors, and a straw mattress. However, ive always had wood floors, and a modern mattress. I do have a few antiques and crafts for sale in my cabin. I work on the honor system. You just make note of what you bought, and leave cash in a guest book!!
