Welcome to walkable, middle-of-the-action Ridgedale!
We are properly zoned and permitted with the City of Chattanooga to operate as a Short-Term Rental - unlike most other listings in the city. It’s good karma to stay with us!
Relax in the neighborhood at our numerous parks and playgrounds, grab a beverage at a nearby cafe, visit animals at the zoo, or do some antique shopping at local favorites.
You will stay in an apartment at the rear of our house which has its own private entrance. Our house was built in the early 1900s and has lived many lives (once a boarding house, then halfway house, Make-A-Wish Foundation offices, and most recently a church!). We enjoyed renovating this house to both some old glory and new function. We lived here for almost three years. It has loads of period details and charm but comes with some drawbacks of an older home. The floors creak and the windows can be drafty. The house has central air conditioning and heat but shares a system with the other apartment. The living room has a window unit that can provide heat and AC. Please do not adjust the floor vents. Let us know if you need further adjustments to the air temperature, we can adjust it remotely.
Enjoy easy, off-street parking via the alley behind Willow House. There are two apartments within Willow House. Please be mindful of noise so as not to disturb guests in the other apartment during your stay.
Enjoy easy, off-street parking via the alley behind Willow House. Climb 3 steps to enter the rear stoop, where you'll find the guest door with a door lock keypad. Enter your unique code to enter into a large, fully-stocked kitchen.
Prepare delicious meals with the stainless steel appliances and ample counter space or enjoy takeout from multiple downtown options. The kitchen flows to the living space with cozy seating, desk space, and flat screen TV. Note that the only bathroom is on this level. Enjoy complimentary Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion.
You will find two bedrooms upstairs after ~18 steps. To the right is a bedroom with queen bed and separate twin daybed. To the left is a single queen bedroom. Both rooms have large closets, windows with blinds and curtains, and window units that supply both air conditioning and heat. All mattresses are comfy memory foam and beds have Turkish fabric on the custom headboards.
The vestibule outside the bedrooms offers a full length mirror, extra linens, water carafe, and some often forgotten toiletry items. We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible!
You will share the house with our family but have your own entrance and are welcome to enjoy as much privacy as you want. You do not have access to laundry in the basement but accommodations can be made for longer stays.
Willow House is 5 minutes from downtown and nearby I-24 and I-75. Off-street parking is available via the alley behind the house.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

It was perfect for our short trip to Chattanooga! It was close to everything which was great and everything was well kept. Would definitely stay here again!
Highly recommend this home! It was very convenient for us as we were visiting Redemption To The Nations Church for thier Wild Ones Conference. Cozy and Clean. We will definitely plan to stay here again!
Wonderful host with great communication and a beautiful property! Loved the convenience, easy check in and out, and the great price for family comfort versus a hotel.

We love this old house and caring for it! Glad you had a nice stay with us and found our services more than met your needs. Hope to see you again sometime, we’ll leave a light on for you :-)
Cute renovation on an older home. The bathroom being downstairs with the bedrooms upstairs was a little tricky with young children but overall nice and well-stocked. The corner lot was unfortunately pretty loud with traffic (even with a sound machine) but thankfully the road traffic died down around midnight. Would stay again

We loved the house! It worked great for our family of six. It was close to downtown and within walking distance to a coffee shop and a couple of shops. I loved how easy it was to check out too.

Glad you frequented our little neighborhood cafe and attached shop, they're such lovely people! And thank you so much for your kind words. Glad you and your family had a great visit to Chattanooga. Hope to see you again sometime, we’ll leave a light on for you :-)
The rental was very clean on the interior. It is a great kitchen. Bed was soft and comfortable. The curb appeal is a D minus. Trash cans, weeds around the patio and picnic table, and frequent noise/sirens were bothersome. Being a single female, and finding out that the owners were not in residence as advertised, I felt less than safe in this neighborhood.

I admit I booked this place last min on a whim while I was at work. So I didn’t fully read the description and realize that this apartment was part of their home until I had already booked it. But let me say it was never an issue! Apartment felt private, quiet, and like we were staying in single unit. Saw Kurt once while parking the car for a brief minute and he was very polite. The added coffee and tea was definitely a plus and having everything we visited near by. Cute home, thanks for sharing it with us for my cousin's 50th birthday!

Nice, clean and comfortable property. As they indicate in their listing it is on a busy street. They welcome pets and there is a nice yard for pets to get outside under supervision.Home is well cared for. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is on the first level which is good to be aware of.Easy drive to the areas of Chattanooga you want to visit.Very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Too kind, thank you! Glad your family was able to have home cooked meals while away from home. Hope to see you again sometime, we’ll leave a light on for you :-)
Lovely little house, easy check in process, and host checked in on us for any needs. Had a great time. Street noise was there, but honestly when the AC unit started the white noise got me right to sleep. Great time

Hosted by Melissa Graveline
Hi there! We are a busy young family with roots in Alabama and Ohio and recent stints in Brooklyn, New York and Portland, Oregon. Melissa is an Architect and Kurt is a Landscape Architect.
When not designing at our day jobs, we love exploring Chattanooga with our 4-year old daughter, Camelia, and 6 year old Doxipoo, Maple.
We bought and renovated this 100-year old house in early 2022. Melissa loves the old charm of the house and tastefully accentuated it in the renovations. And Kurt is slowly but surely bringing back the beauty to the exterior of the old home. We hope you like what we've done with it!
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable.
