For us this is by far the best place we have stayed while traveling. The house is amazing, lots of history and charm. The location is great, Natalie was awesome, just a wonderful stay. I can whole heartedly recommend this as a must visit place to stay if you are in the area.
The home is beautiful and very comfortable. All necessities were provided. The backyard is very pretty and inviting. It was nice to have privacy. I felt that I could reach out to our host, Natalie, with any questions.
Beautiful historic home. Lovely backyard to relax in. Hosts were welcoming and responsive. Very nice touches such as a complimentary bottle of wine, coffee in the kitchen and other little appreciated amenities. I highly recommend this property.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful, historic home, furnished with antiques and authentic decor. The best part was that every bedroom had it’s own bathroom and shower.
It was wonderful. Spotlessly clean, accessible, everything we needed for our stay during our sons wedding. We were gone during the day; it was so relaxing to come back to.
My sister and I had a wonderful 2-day stay in this beautiful, clean historic home. It had new and modern comforts amongst the treasured antiques. The décor was detailed and amazing. For us, it was like staying in a movie set! We appreciated the hosts special touches including coffee/tea in the pantry, water filter pitcher, bottle of wine, and so much more. The backyard was lovely and the neighborhood was quiet. With no TV, we enjoyed visiting, reading, and playing games. It was a perfect place for our relaxing mini-vacation.
As you enter the home its like a step back in time. There was great thought put into this home. From the wall paper carpet and furinture. The atmosphere was amazing also. Quite and zen. With the 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms you have your own personal space to truely relax. The best part of the trip is no tv but there was wifi if you need tv that bad you can watch on your phone or tablet. I grew up in this town and this house is what every resident that buys a house strives for. Truely a great experience.
The neighborhood was quiet during our stay. Parking was super convenient and accessible. No permit was necessary as in some other neighborhoods we've stayed in before. The home is a welcoming Victorian delicacy! It is ravishing inside and out! Every single bedroom has its own bathroom which made it extremely convenient for everyone. Exceptional care went int every detsil of the constructionn, design, and decor of this home. There is no television, which made it possible for us all to converse and enjoy each other more. We had an evening of ghost story telling in the communal room; which made it for a most exciting and humorous night! Thank you to our hosts for allowing such a jewel to be shared with us.

I live in downtown Oroville just catty corner to this historic home and am passionate about the preservation of our historic treasures. I love meeting new people and exploring unique downtowns to celebrate the individual creativity on display in the residents and business owners.
Why they chose this property
Historic Downtown Oroville really does stand out as one of the more intact Gold Rush–era downtowns in Northern California. The combination of preserved Victorian architecture, compact walkability, and locally owned businesses gives it a character that’s increasingly rare in small towns.
The downtown’s concentration of antique stores, vintage shops and boutiques adds to the appeal. The historic core is a compact area very browseable on foot compared with many small California towns where businesses are more spread out.
What makes Oroville especially distinctive is that the residential Victorian district and the commercial core are still closely connected. In many historic towns, those areas became separated by highways, parking lots, or later redevelopment. Here, you can still walk naturally from historic homes to cafés, restaurants, and shops in just a few blocks.
What makes this property unique
1875 Gothic Victorian recently restored in downtown Oroville, walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and the historic State Theater.
