About this property

White Oak Retreat SW WI easy access to ATV and Snowmobile Trails

The White Oak Retreat is a "shouse" type living space, constructed in 2023, located 4 miles south of Shullsburg, WI. The property is located on a preferred ATV route and within 100 yards of the snowmobile trail with ample room for trailer parking.

Located 8 minutes from Shullsburg WI, 20 minutes from Darlington, WI, 25 minutes from Galena, IL, and 30 minutes from Dubuque, IA the living space is all your own. The home on the property is lived in by the hosts, however the Retreat is all yours. We do have three cats (Stewart, Sam and Sloan) that might come say hello from time to time.

The space can sleep up to 10 people with two bedrooms (one king, one queen), a Queen futon, and a King-size floor mattress (Cordaroy Bean Bag) and single futon on the loft, and a couch on the main level.

If you have a larger group looking for a place to stay we do have a spot for camper hook up on the property as well. Message host for details and to arrange for camper parking for an additional fee.

All appliances are new with washer/dryer, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, microwave and electric stove.

A unique island with a 4' wide solid piece of live-edge white oak will be your favorite inside gathering spot for card games or just hanging out after a long day of fun in this beautiful area of Wisconsin and NW IL. When the weather is nice, open the all-glass overhead door to expand the living space to the outside patio.

Enjoy a hot shower in our all-tile shower in the full bath on the main level. The loft has a 1/2 bath for those sleeping on the upper level.

The space is air conditioned with a unit for the 18' tall living space and loft and smaller units in each bedroom each with their own temperature controls. The Retreat has in-floor heat, with supplemental heat from the wall units for those really cold nights. There are 5 ceiling fans, two on the loft, one in each bedroom and a large 8' diameter fan over the living area and kitchen.

The main level floor is stained concrete contributing to the rustic feel we hope you enjoy. Our goal was to make it feel like you're staying in a spacious cabin. We think we've achieved that and hope you agree.

We had three couples that stayed and the space was perfect. This was our 2nd time staying there. We were there for a weekend with our side by side. This place is beautiful, plenty of room for trailers & machines. Lauren was fantastic! She was so helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this Vrbo and definitely will be back!

Its a beautiful property out in the middle of nowhere but not to far from all the convenients of the city, very quite an secluded, its a great location to ride utvs and very comfortable when you get back, all the convenients of home, the hosts are wonderful and I cant wait to stay again.

Loved the layout and it had everything we needed. Very clean and spacious. The gift of cheese was very much appreciated. We'd love to bring our side by side back sometime and ride the trails since they're right out the door! One of the best things was the owner's dog. What a sweetheart! Would definitely go back!

Four girlfriends and I stayed and had a wonderful time. The property owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The prpoerty was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. Beds on main level were very comfortable. My only suggestion would be to add a bed with a regular mattress in the lift area. We would definitely stay again!

Super cute and safe rental for our girls trip for a wedding!

We rented this VRBO because we were attending my cousin's wedding at Oak Hill Farm that weekend. I had my little sister, our niece, and my daughter traveling with me. This was the perfect spot for us! It wasn't far from the venue and was so spacious and cozy for our little getaway! We had tons of craziness and running around as I did makeup for the bridal party and my daughter was the flower girl and this rental was such a relaxing space to be able to come back to in between all of the running the day before the wedding and day of and was so nice to relax in after it was over! The host was so kind and answered all questions I had before and after booking and was so helpful! This was my first time booking a VRBO type rental and we felt so safe at their rental! The pictures don't even do this space justice! It feels huge when you walk in and was so beautiful! The owner took their time putting in so many special little touches and made everything so convenient! We all LOVED staying here!
