About this property

Beautiful updated Adirondack camp, open for rental June 1 to mid-October.

A one mile long dirt road wends its way through beautiful forest to arrive at Forever Wild on the shore of lovely Lake Titus in the northern region of the Adirondacks. 12 miles south of Malone and 40 miles north of Saranac Lake, this is a virtually traffic-free part of the Adirondacks. The renovated camp (new foundation, walls, hardwood floors, and furniture) has generous front and back decks, four bedrooms, and a third floor loft. With beautiful views to the lake, access is via a 75 foot path to a small dock. Lake Titus is one of the quietest lakes you will find in the Adirondacks. There are 2 mountains on the lake for climbing, and the south end has a swimming beach. Or, you can swim from a raft in front of the dock. The lake has bass for those who enjoy fishing, and the town of Malone offers one of the best golf courses in the north country, a Robert Trent Jones 36 championship hole golf course. Renters must bring their own bed linens and towels, but if this is not feasible, talk with the owner. We provide blankets, pillows, bedspreads, bathmats and kitchen linens.

One Disappointment
Directv listed as an amenity. TV remote missing rendering TV useless for 2 week stay. Contacted number provided in case of problems. Gentleman who answered said he was aware of missing remote and thought owner was planning to replace it. Contacted owner through personal email and through VRBO. No response from owner. That is the disappointment. Not having TV is a minor issue compared to the lack of response from owner.

Cute place on cute lake
I grew up in the North Country and never realized how Great Lake Titus is. Smaller lake yes but we had a blast fishing, swimming, kayaking and going out on the Boston Whaler. Wildlife was great, deer, loons, bald eagle, and lots of little frogs for my boy to catch. Spacious rooms to sleep. Having games and puzzles etc is such a win. The kitchen is a bit on the small side and there is not a full size outdoor grill at this time so plan accordingly. The owners are great and communicative and helpful along the way. Great places to hike nearby. Close enough to town to shop but far enough out you feel pretty private. The neighboring home sights are close but all quiet and friendly. Thank you for sharing your lovely place with our family to create such great memories.

Private Lake Get-Away
We loved the comfortable accommodations and peaceful lake. We all could spread out in the plentiful rooms, and we appreciated the paddle boards and kayak. Such a private, beautiful spot! Would definitely return!

I grew up in Malone, NY and have been at the lake with my family since 1946. Though I don't live in the area now, my husband and our girls and their families spend the summers at our camp. I acquired the camp I rent, Forever Wild, which is next door, in 1975. I am a former school teacher and development officer, and my husband is a retired anesthesiologist. We have traveled extensively and enjoy all outdoor activities, as do our kids. Lake Titus is a very special place to us and for us.
