Deep Creek Lake State Park : Most of the parks visitor services are located on State Park Road along the waterfront of Deep Creek Lake. The park includes approximately 1 mile of shoreline on this, Maryland's largest man-made lake. Access is available for fishing, swimming, and boat launching. Great place to stay!
Great location! Away from all the traffic and noise, yet minutes from the lake and other activities. The house itself was pretty much as described in other reviews, could use some TLC (burned out light bulbs, broken bed frame in upstairs bedroom, etc). We did wash all the silverware and plates since it seemed the previous renters didn't do such a great job at it. The DirectTV was not working when we got there and after rebooting without success, a quick text to Sheila got the problem resolved. A 4WD is a MUST in winter months, and is recommended at other times of the year due to the steep dirt/gravel road to get to the house. Beautiful spot - deer passed by twice each day, squirrels and field mice playing all around.
Just as promised
Although house could use a little love it was just as promised.we had deer in the yard every morning and afternoon it was in the woods secluded and quite just what we wa nted overall a excellent trip family loved it.
The house was a great place to stay. Wildlife every day. We were lucky enough to have a bear walk through the yard. The house was a great location so peaceful but minutes from the lake. Could have used more utensils but all in all - it was everything we expected and more. Loved it.
Not worth the money
A lot of things need updating, fridge leaks water all over your food three Legged table in one bedroom broken chairs no toilet paper holders for your toilet paper no garbage cans for your garbage showers creak and crack Master bed is held up with straps and a paint can kitchen sink handle is broke Not enough silverware to eat with Black mold on the ceiling and windows and basement ...... it's worth about $300 for the week !!!!!
The Hideaway Cabin is a beautiful cabin on a great piece of land.
This cabin was the perfect spot for 12 friends to get together and have a great weekend getaway. Tons of space inside and a great front and backyard. In the woods, but just minutes from the water. Pool table, hot tub, fire pit, etc. we used it all and had an amazing time. We will definitely rent again when coming back to Deep Creek Lake!
I felt the stay would have been more enjoyable if the house was checked before we got there. The hot tub was horrible and our stay was for 6 nights and we were only able to use it for 2 nights. We had to clean ping pong balls out of the pool table it seemed like the people before us played beer pong on the table. There were holes in the wall downstairs. It has a very damp and musty smell downstairs and needs a humidifier. There was food in the cabinets that had been expired for a month. There were items left in the washer.. It was a very nice location just seemed like someone dropped the ball on checking it to make sure it was ready for us.
Deep Creek Lake, Maryland Other Activities: Our favorite activities include boating on the lake, snow skiing at WISP, Visiting Swallow Falls, and Black Bear Falls. Our favorite bar especially in the Summer is the Honi-Honi. The WISP resort also has great food and alot of activities including a Zip Line, Mountain Coaster, Dune buggies, and paint ball. Golf: Wisp Resort Golf and Lodestone. Golfstyles Magazine named the Wisp Resort Golf Course one of the “100 Must-Play Courses of the Mid-Atlantic.” Designed around the natural contours at the base of Wisp ski slopes, with breathtaking views of the mountains, this 6,700 yard, par 72 championship course ebbs and flows along tree-lined fairways, and past strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. Ski: Wisp Mountain Resort With a world renowned energy-efficient snowmaking system and over 100 inches of annual snowfall in Garrett County, Wisp's 132 acres of ski terrain provide snowsport enthusiasts an incredible winter playground. Non-skiers and boarders won't be left out, in fact, they'll have as much trouble deciding what to do next with all that Wisp Resort and the Deep Creek Lake area have to offer: mountain coaster, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, fly fishing and more.
