Why WC Lodging chose Healdsburg

I just love this particular area because I've spent so many summers up here enjoying the 'River'.And it's only 1 hour away from S.F.

What makes this cabin unique

It's a short walk to the beach.Only 5 minute drive to the town of Healdsburg. The main deck is an extension of the living room. We've always spent so much time there relaxing and enjoying the views. The beach at 'Camp Rose' is only for residents in the area.So it's quite private.A float down on the river can be really fun.Only takes 1 hour starting from Redwood Dr..Or there's 'Rivers Edge' canoe rental close by.Great dining in town, lots of great shopping too.

A great place to cool off and relax by the river.

  • 5 of 5

Sue's place waas the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The beds are very comfortable and the house layout offers privacy. The many decks offered lots of options to sit outside and take in the air. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to keep clean. The inflatable tubes under the porch made the river a blast! It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and there are some lovely deep and cool spots to dunk and even a rope swing for adventurous folks! It was especially hot when we stayed and Sue kindly emailed with tips about how to stay cool. We had a great time at her place and will no doubt return.

Nice time, cozy place, up the hill from a private beach

  • 4 of 5

Overall a nice place, as advertised. Really pretty area, close to the river (and a private beach). No AC, but it was tree covered, which kept the house cool during the day. Plenty of space, both inside and outside. Kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials.

Rustic Cabin would describe it

  • 3 of 5

Upon entering the main door I was hit in the face with cobwebs. This was after ducking the yellow jackets nesting in the cabinet next to the front door. There is an A/C unit - doesn't work (it was very hot when we stayed there - but cools off nicely at night). That's why I would call this a "rustic" cabin - it was clean, comfortable and very usable, it was just quite different from what I was expecting from the online description.

Great location, adorable cabin

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I stayed at this home for a wine weekend. We were so excited about the beautiful outdoor space, but unfortunately it rained all weekend so we couldn't enjoy it!

The beds were extremely comfortable, the cabin was cozy, and we had a lovely time.

Cozy, Quaint, Quiet, Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here in early October with our grown daughter and her boyfriend. The house was charming and woodsy and well equipped for our needs. The balcony off the living room was nice and roomy and a wonderful place to have meals. The location of the house was perfect; close to wineries, the Russian River, and just up the hill from adorable downtown Healdsburg. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The day we got to Healdsburg, we bought groceries in town before heading up to the house, so we could eat in that evening. Although there appeared to be several wonderful restaurants in Healdsburg (We had lunch at one of them--Campo Fina.), we just wanted to hunker down that night. Before dinner, we made the very short walk from the house down to the river to watch the sunset--beautiful. Then we came back and cooked. The kitchen had everything we needed and the BBQ worked fine. We ate out on the balcony and stayed out there talking into the evening. It was so relaxing. The next day we went canoeing on the Russian River--a fabulous adventure and one Sue recommended.

All in all, we couldn't have been happier with the whole experience, and we highly recommend the house if you want a comfortable, unpretentious, laid-back place to stay that is right in the heart of everything.

What a lovely way to spend a week! The location is so quiet, even the birds respected our solitude. We arrived in late afternoon and found the cabin to be a bit stuffy (no air conditioning) but opened all of the windows and the fresh northern California air had it cooled off and comfortable within less than ½ an hour. It was lovely having a break from canned air. The views are beautiful! Morning fog hides the mountains but burns off early to reveal picturesque scenery. Two items of caution for future renters; the road is steep and the driveway is a little tricky if you are unaccustomed to that type of terrain. Secondly, we had trouble using our cells phones, even with Wi-Fi. Not an issue if you are planning a retreat (girl’s weekend or visiting wineries). It was an issue for us though because we were visiting our former home (Sonoma County) and had trouble connecting with friends & family. Overall, I would rent again just for the peaceful, beautiful setting. Thanks Sue!
