About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Perfect location on the mountain, and great views from your living room window.

OUR NEWLY-UPDATED CONDO IS RIGHT ON THE SLOPES on the 1st floor, with a great King size bed in the master bedroom. Easy exit to slopes (and our private parking lot). It's a short walk out to the Village for dining/shopping year-round. Starbucks is just a few steps outside the lodge. Free in-room WiFi puts the morning ski report at your fingertips.

Staying at Mountain Lodge is the most convenient location on the mountain. On-site check-in, and no hassles getting the keys to your condo. Drive to our front gate, give your name to our attendant, and pick up your keys at our 24/7 front desk.

This 2 BR/2 Bath condo #170 in Snowshoe Mountain Lodge overlooks Shavers Lake and the ski basin. The view is SO nice that some couples choose to have their wedding in the meadow right below our balcony. Fully furnished and recently remodeled, there is a KING BED in the large master suite, Queen bed in the second bedroom, and a new queen sleeper sofa to accommodate your family. A fully-stocked kitchen provides all utensils and our in-house housekeeping and maintenance staff can fill all your needs. There's a 42' wide-screen TV with DVD player in the living area, and both bedrooms have flat-screen TVs, too.

The unit is SKI IN/SKI OUT (or BIKE IN/OUT), with bike or ski/snowboard storage lockers available to rent at the lodge entrance, just a few feet from the Ballhooter lift.

We provide an easy-living space. The no pets/no smoking policy provides our guests with a fresh room every time. In the summer, bikes are not allowed in the Lodge, to help keep it clean.

The large open lobby with the huge fireplace is a great gathering place. A game room, small kids play area and fitness equipment (both just a few quiet steps from our condo door) give Mountain Lodge families lots of choices. Quiet hours after 10PM allow our guests a relaxed way to get ready for the next day's activities.

One-night stays are allowed on weekdays. If conditions are right for a quick mid-week trip, we want to give you the chance to hit the slopes on your schedule. One-night weekend stays are subject to short-term availability only.

We are just a short walk to the Split Rock Pools. However, there is a $20 daily fee charged for their use.

During the winter weekends, you'll find a great restaurant, Pasta's Italian Ristorante, in the Lodge itself.

Check-in 5pm, check-out 11am.

We also have a 1 BR available in Mountain Lodge to save $$. Contact us for details or see VRBO #368993

Dated, Noisy Building but Great Location to Slopes

  • 2 of 5

The building overall was old, smelly and very dated. Noise was a huge issue... large congregation of adolescents/young teens there the same week as us (120) with little to no supervision who ran through and yelled constantly in the hallways and in the rooms all around us; banged on walls and constantly blocked paths through halls and door ways. We had to call the front desk every evening due to the noise continuing well past 'quiet time', and were actually told by the front desk in response to our concerns about the noise "you aren't the only ones here". Did not realize unit was one door down from the arcade on one side and the fitness/play area on the other, which did not help with the noise. Had to call maintenance to unclog tub, fix sliding door, replace light bulbs, fix temp setting, along with other minor issues, but made the stay more of a pain than a pleasure. Though it was a great location near the central lifts/runs, would not recommend this unit/building if you are looking for a restful ski vacation.

Owner's Response: Each winter, a large group from a private school comes in. Usuaally they are extremely polite, quiet kids (we've met several of them), but there are outliers in any group. I'm sorry the noisy kids ended up near our renter, but this is not usually a problem. The kids play/fitness center is thru double doors a few doors down, which is a great convenience for parents with small kids (and not a noise problem either). The arcade, 4-6 doors down at the other end of the hall, is completely contained...this is the first time I've heard of a noise complaint from this area (and it's also convenient if you have kids that age). Please see other reviews of our condo if you have any concerns. Lodge management (and Pam and I) try to offer a problem-free stay for all our guests.

Snowshoe Memories!!

  • 5 of 5

Snowshoe MTN and MTN Lodge 170 were incredible. Our travel up and service once on site were incredible. MTN Lodge 170 was excellent. Great location to the slopes on Ballhooter and the room on the first floor was adjacent two entrances/exits for easy loading and unloading. The accommodations were perfect inside for my family including two boys (9 and 7) and my in-laws. We skied Saturday and Sunday and stored skis on the hallway hanger that was perfect. We plan to make this an annual trip. For first time kid skiers I highly recommend ski school. The instructors were great and my 9 year old tested his skills the second day on his first black diamond. Each night we too visited Split Rock pools that for a small fee provided access to an in door pool and jacuzzi. Above all it was a great trip and appreciate all of the owners provisions to make the lodge so accommodating.

Perfect place for couples, kids, and mother/daughter weekends away. Condo was just right with comfortable beds, lots of hot water and located with a terrific view. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful that we felt right at home on the top of mountain. Scenery is breathtaking, so many activities to do, great places to eat!

Overlooks Shavers Lake and the ski basin at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, the largest mountain and the best skiing in the Southeast or Mid-Atlantic. Main Ballhooter ski lift brings you right to the Village and your home at Mountain Lodge.

Other Activities: Near Green Bank, the home of the National Radio Telescope Observatory. Also, the Cranberrry Bog near Marlington is a interesting form of tundra.

Golf: The Raven Golf Course at Snowshoe is a Gary Player Signature course. With 7000+ yds from the tips, the course provides a great test from its 6000 and 6400 yd tees. The fairways provide mostly level lies (for a mountain course) and the greens are extremely well maintained.
