Karen's Cottage was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have been more happy about booking this place! It was so relaxing and comfortable. It was close enough to downtown, while still being far enough away to provide the quiet and calm that we were hoping for. The seaside view down the street made for such a wonderful walk every morning, and the giant recliners and tv made it a great place to wind down at night. Highly recommend booking her cottage. It had everything we needed, and more!

Perfect location on Mount Desert Island

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Maine. We do all our of research on the internet, and Karen's Cottage was very true to the description on the website. It is in a very convenient location with easy access to all of the sites we wanted to see. Yet, it is in a peaceful, beautiful and relaxing setting. The cottage is very clean, and it was well-stocked with paper products, dish & laundry detergent, etc. Even those small things mean a lot when you are on vacation! I hope we get to come back, and we would certainly stay in Karen's Cottage again.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed my cottage. It is very well equiped with everything you could possably need and it is a very cozy cottage. You are only 400 ft. from the shore so you can go searching for sea glass or sea shells or have a picnic. When the tide is coming in over the hot rocks the water is warm enough to go swimming. You are close to Bar Harbor, only 4 miles and just 1 1/2 miles to Acadia National Pk. The cottage has a 12 x 30 ft. deck with very comfortable deck furniture.

Cute and very home like

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house and Karen. She came to greet us and helped us with anything we needed. There were plenty of towels and spices for cooking. Her kitchen was well equipped with everything. From lobster crackers to corkscrew for wine bottles. The only thing I thought we would be disappointed with is that there is no beach access. But it turns out there is plenty of beach access other places. We really didn't spend that much time at the house anyway. Bar Harbor is a dog lovers paradise, we didn't have to leave our dogs once. We ate out daily and all the activities were dog friendly as well. My husband and two teenage boys as well as myself can't wait to go back.
