Gorgeous rebuilt cabin on the banks of the Smith river. Hike, kayak, swim, relax
Our beautiful cabin was totally rebuilt 3 years ago using reclaimed redwood. With empty land on either side of the house & overlooking the river, this is the place to relax, unwind & regain peace of mind. High end amenities, a Wolf stove, Bosch dishwasher, small fridge upstairs, big fridge freezer & top of the line washer & dryer in the basement, powerful rain shower in the wet room, big screen tv & music centre, all the luxuries are in place juxtaposed with the peace of being surrounded by exquisite, unspoiled nature. Take riverside hikes to Stony Creek, visit the glory of the Jedediah Smith Redwood forest, (13 mins drive) visit the beaches at Crescent City ( 25 mins) or go further to Enderts beach, (rock pools filled with sea creatures) or just chill in the house, sit on the deck and watch the river slide by. This is a home & we are artists so the decor is quirky ( we have school lockers instead of closets) but luxurious. We hope our guests will find peace, joy & health here & return often.

Stayed for two nights to unwind with hikes in Jedediah Smith, it far exceeded our expectations. The property is amazing and so relaxing and we both loved it.

Lorin and partner were exactly the guest we like to host - courteous, honest and above all interested in the nature all around them. Thanks Lorin - David and Kate
The cabin was a perfect getaway for my husband and me. Beautiful river view, quiet, close to forest and ocean hiking trails, modern amenities in rustic setting. Loved the decor. We enjoyed a great stay! Thank you.
My husband and I stayed here while exploring the redwoods; a long-time aspiration of ours. Our experience at this cabin was the perfect cherry-topper on our adventure! Quiet, serene, and beautiful with all the amenities we hoped for. We absolutely plan to stay here for our next trip!
I was looking for a calm, quiet anniversary getaway and we found it! We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the sights and sounds of the river. The cabin was simple and had everything we needed. It really was an enjoyable weekend. We hope we can come back again someday
My fiancé and I absolutely loved this VRBO. The home is beautiful and right on the Smith River. It is also super close to the Redwood State and National Parks. The hosts were extremely welcoming and quick to respond. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Awesome little cabin right on the river. Views were spectacular! Make sure to clear all guests (dinner/hanging out/etc.) with the property owner before booking. Kate is great at communicating.

Rex was a considerate house guest and a great communicator. He showed up with 4 people in his party, when the booking is for two people only. When we became aware of this situation and asked him about it, he apologised and informed us that his party had happenstantially grown in size since the booking and that two of them now planned to camp on the property and use the facilities during the day and for meals. This is a significant variance from the contract and, importantly, our insurance only covers us for the terms of the rental agreement (we are a two person facility). Rex agreed that he should have attempted to clear this arrangement with us in advance so that we could have amended the insurance and addressed the wear and tear of larger party. Fortunately, Rex understood our position and we were able to relocate the additional members of his party to a nearby campsite. Although all four people continued to use the facilities by day, we did not intervene with this surfeit usage as Rick assured us that the party would be, as it was, mindful. In the end, his party treated our home as if it were their own and left it very tidy. Despite this particular anomaly, we do not restrict hosting at meals or during the day (although there are party size and timing rules in the contract to consider in this peaceful neighborhood). We ask only that guests abide by the rules agreed to in the contract and to discuss variances in advance.
Beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Loved sitting out on the balcony in the morning a watching the river. River access was a little difficult, but the overall property was so peaceful. Be sure to bring some food with you. It is a trip to the nearest restaurants.

Thank you Stephen,
Yes we advise guests to not use our river access unless they are very nimble and it is at the guests' own risk. The serpentine rock is wet and slippy.
Glad you had a peaceful time there.

My husband and I loved our stay at this river side cabin! It is very unique in way of decor. Thoroughly enjoyed the views, the record player, and the nice washer/dryer. First time to use a french press, but it was very easy to manage. No microwave, but the oven was sufficient. The towels were luxurious and and the bedding soft. Directions for several remotes were very easy to understand. The only thing we were a little confused about upon arrival was the airstream and old truck on the property. We could not find the wooden gate to enter the cabin "yard" or drive thinking the airstream was a different property but we soon figured it out. Overall, an oustanding experience!
