We have enjoyed a beautiful stay in the Cottage. The grounds are so conducive to unwinding, and to shaking off City life! The fire pit and hot tub invite you to scan the night or early morning sky, keeping cozy. The Cottage, itself, contains very comfortable furniture, beds and linens, with lovely antique pieces. Everything was sparkling clean.
The kitchen is well supplied, and we had everything we needed, from pie baking to steak grilling.
We also can't say enough about the owners, Dennis, Becky and Amy. They are committed, available, and responsive.
This was definitely a five star experience!

Very clean inside. Loved that.
Comfortable and spacious.love all of the decor
Quiet, serene, oasis of tranquilty, and was everything we expected!!!
Extremely comfortable quaint little cottage, with just the right amount luxury, in the form of jacuzzi hot tub under the redwoods, cable TV with a few choice Blu-Ray movies to play, and finally wi-fi internet. After a hard day of hiking amongst the majestic redwoods of the nearby state and national parks, what better way to recover then by soaking in a hot tub under towering redwoods, then watching a good movie, followed by checking your email and posting pics of your adventures to family and friends?!! The furnishings were an eclectic assortment of antiques, which I wish they could've told us their history, as several had elaborate hand carved features that seemed to indicate a refined timeless elegance. Several pieces of the artwork displayed on the walls were showcasing the wonderful talent of local artists, so all in all, this cottage was extremely charming! We also recommend the ranch across the street (Crescent Trail Rides) which was excellent choice for horseback riding through the redwoods, you'll find a brochure on the coffee table. If you like dogs they have a cute little pack over there who love frisbees tossed again, and again, and again..... LOL Cute pups!
Now for the negatives:
The blinds seemed antique as in their quirky operation as well, (one even had to be held down by several books!) The back-left burner of the stove failed to work. The bathroom sink drains slow and needs to be unplugged. The kitchen sink light has loose wiring and is intermittent. Screens were missing from several windows, so fresh air was not available through all windows, just a few. The exterior motion sensing lights were burned out on both the cottage as well as the garage, so if you don't have head-visor lights or flashlights, then it's rather dark out there "in the woods!" LOL The cottage instructions requested the guests be conservative on the burning of wood, which was easy to do as there was little available on the wood pile by the garage. No matter, as we purchased our own and left more than we found. The BBQ also was in need of having the burners replaced, as the old ones were rusted out. Oh and last but not least, the toilet bowl wobbled as the bolt/bolts were loose or damaged, and there was a danger of a major plumbing disaster in the making!
But don't think we didn't love the place, and wouldn't return in a heartbeat for a second memorable vacation, as this place grows on you!!
Thanks Dennis and Becky!
Wow, what a cozy and comfortable place! It's exactly as the pictures and other reviews describe it. My 3 kids and I stayed here for 4 days in early August, and the cottage was super! The bedrooms were comfortable, everything was clean, and the owners were fantastic to deal with. We felt very comfortable! Pleasantly, we found a variety of spices in the kitchen, well stocked pots/pans/utensils, and small things like filters for the coffee. I'm sure other people left things behind, as did we for future users, but that is part of the appeal of a short term rental, because the last thing you want to do is have to purchase small items for a short stay. This place was a great!
Quiet and relaxing
Loved the retreat in the redwoods. House was comfortable and well stocked with what we needed. Outside space was lovely for afternoons relaxing. Close to beautiful hiking trails and paddle boarding on the lakes. We also did the lighthouse tour, which was fun. We would stay again!!!
Idyllic cabin in the woods... perfect for family with kids
Single dad of three little girls... spent a week here and loved it. The kids loved going out to do various activities in the area during the day (horseback riding, beaches, forest, Smith River, etc), and then in the evenings they loved coming home to the cabin. Lots of fun outside (hot tub and s'mores around the fire), and super cozy and nice inside. Would definitely stay here again if I vacation in this neck of the woods again someday.
