About Ellen Hill
I am honored to have a home that allows me to share the beauty of Vermont. I lived in Vermont since 1974 take great pride in our cultural heritage and environment. If you are a lover of nature and culture--or desire a quiet, private get-away, this place will offer you many options. As an advid biker, skier, kayaker and all-around general outdoor enthusiast, I'd be honored to share the magic of the region.
Ellen Hill purchased this Studio in 2013
Why Ellen Hill chose Jeffersonville
The Pondhouse has been called magical and enchanted. I've travelled and lived overseas and have served in the Peace Corps. To own a home (that actually has two homes) and allows me to host people from all over the world is a unique privilege. Now that I have offered The Pondhouse to others and I read the reviews and the notes that are left behind, I know that others cherish their time here and create special memories. I have been meeting the nicest people who love the magic of Vermont!
What makes this Studio unique
The Pondhouse has been described many ways: "The "home" as well as the outside surroundings with the gardens and the mountains in the background are spectacular, peaceful and pristine." "Perfect weekend getaway to escape the city and find true peace and quiet. The house was tucked away and all you could hear were birds and frogs." "The Pondhouse felt like a home away from home." "If you are looking for a convenient, well- appointed, lovely spot to get away from it all, this is your place. The photos can't possibly do it justice." "It is a perfect place for a couples getaway, great space for cooking and enjoying a meal and each other." "It's peaceful with beautiful surroundings, yet conveniently located just down the road from the bustle at Smuggler's Notch." Come discover the magic for yourself!

Clean, Warm & Close to Smuggs
My wife & I went for a long weekend trip. This place is in a perfect spot. It’s close enough to Jeffersonville & Smuggs. I cannot complain and certainly far cheaper than staying on the resort. Has great views of Mt. Mansfield. I would love to go back in the fall to do some hiking. I’m sure the colors are spectacular. Ellen the owner was great gave me some great recommendations for some local dining options. 158 main is the way to go. Thanks for a great stay and I look forward to booking in the near future.
Enjoyed the Pond House very much!
Spacious, relaxing home, with a postcard-like view of the mountains
Ellen was an amazing host-warm, friendly, accessible, and respected our privacy. The space is gorgeous. I would be content just sitting in front of the window all day, enjoying the view. The furniture is super comfy and the kitchen well-stocked. I will definitley be coming back.
Enjoyed out weekend at the Pondhouse. Beautiful location and lovely space. Highly recommend. Thanks Ellen
The property is absolutely beautiful! The pondhouse is romantic and wonderful!
Staying at the pondhouse was spectacular, it is beautiful and fully equipped with all the cookware needed. It was spotless upond arrival, of course, and provided cleaning materials to use. It is very spacious and the heat keeps the entire place warm and cozy for chilly nights. The view is magical and you can watch wildlife, such as deer and small creatures browse the property, right from the pondhouse couch. The furniture and bed is comfortable. Ellen was a fantastic host and was readily available to answer any questions we had. I would most definitely stay at the pondhouse again. It would be perfect for individuals and families who are visiting Smugglers Notch.
A place you’ll fall in love with!
