About The Owner

We are both Portland natives. We love everything about Portland and enjoy skiing up on Mt. Hood, and going to the beach. We love to travel, hike, bike, cook and spend time with our three small children.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2005

Why The Owner chose Downtown

We absolutely loved living near the water and felt like we were on a perpetual honeymoon. We enjoyed being able to walk to the Pearl for dinner, and going for bikerides along the waterfront. It was also nice to be in the heart of downtown being able to walk everywhere and not having to worry about parking.

What makes this condo unique

Convenient location. I enjoyed walking into the Pearl to get my coffee in the mornings and taking brisk walks along the waterfront. The Max is a 5 minute walk away. The onsite security was a nice feature as well.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful setting in a great location!!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay! The view is a beautiful bridge and water landscape with the popular greenway trail (great for runners) right in front! The decor within the home is very modern. The bed is a tempropedic, very comfortable! The couch and blow up mattresses were very comfortable as well (as stated by my family who came in for a weekend during our stay). If you're a walker like me it's the perfect location with the Saturday Market 10 min walk and grocery stores about 15. There's even a market next door! AND a bar! This place is located in the Old Town/china town area, a short walk to either downtown or pearl district. The only complaint Heston and I have about the location is that although it is extremely convenient for someone coming off the train from union station the train operators do blow their horn right in front of the location. This is not the owners fault and the train operator has to do so for safety purposes.

Moving on, Eileen was a great host! She was quick to respond any time I needed her via email. Thanks Eileen!

Comfy condo in a great location

  • 4 of 5

This 1 bedroom Pearl District condo was a great choice for our weekend stay in Portland. The condo is small but comfortably appointed--it is better suited for a couple rather than 4 adults due to the lack of a sofa bed. However, a self-inflating air mattress is included which worked for our needs. The condo is in a convenient location within walking distance of the fun Saturday market, several yummy restaurants, and even the famed Voodoo Donuts. It is a short car/Uber/Max ride to many other locations downtown. Like several other reviews stated, it is located close to the Steel Bridge which is a busy route for the local Max as well as many larger (and noisier) freight trains. The noise was never very bothersome to us, but it may be a good idea to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. I really appreciated the included box fan and extra towels/linens! Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed being right along the riverfront and close to everything we needed!

Terrific place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

The condo is terrific. It is nicely appointed and everything is in great condition. The view of the river from the covered balcony is a nice plus. It is also conveniently located to public transportation (which is really the way to get around in Portland). Other reviewers have mentioned the numerous homeless people in the Pearl District; but that's really a description of all of Portland. I've never had any trouble with anyone on the streets and I've walked many miles around town at all hours of the day & night.

Beautiful place, not the best location for a young family

  • 3 of 5

The apartment looks just the same as the pictures. All the amenities were there and in working order. The living area and bedroom were spacious. We were traveling with our 18 month old and the crib and high chair made it very easy for us. Thank you. I really liked how there were plenty of towels and soaps. Having laundry inside the unit saved us a lot of time. A big cost savings was the parking space inside the gated area.

I would have given this place 4 stars if there were shades, preferably blackout shades at least in the bedroom. The bedroom faces the water. It's beautiful, but waterfront is very industrious. The flood lights that shine all over the water also shine right into the bedroom, illuminating the room all night. Also, for added privacy, a curtain in the living room would have been nice.

If you have not been to Portland before, there are a lot of transients living on the streets near the waterfront. You are super close to the Pearl District and all the major shops and dining spots, however, you will need to pass many people who have set up camp on the street. If you are traveling with young children I would caution you staying near the waterfront if you plan to walk.

Great location for access to train station, public transportation and convention center

  • 5 of 5

I had a nine day convention right across the river at the convention center. It's an easy walk -- 10 minutes. It's also an easy walk to the Union train station. The Max is also close. The condo is well appointed and made this extended stay more of a home feel. Eileen, the owner, is wonderful to work with and responds quickly to inquiries.

Nice small condo in a fantastic location.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived in Portland via Amtrak and had just a short walk to the condo. We were early because we just didn't think about check in time, but this was fortuitous because we met the owner. She was very gracious and let us check in early, but also showed us where to catch the max and about Lovejoy Bakery. She also told us about the Christmas Ship Parade which was happening that weekend. This was something that we never would have known about and it turned out to be a big hit with our son and his family who visited for the evening from Hillsboro. The night time view of the Steel Bridge and boat traffic and all of the lights on the river is wonderful. The nearby market is nice for picking up little things that you might have forgotten. It's an easy walk to the Pearl District and to Downtown. It's about a five minute walk to the nearest westbound max stop. The condo was clean and comfortable and well furnished. We slept well. We had a very fun stay.
