Check in was great. The owner met me there at the designated time. The bed did not have a mattress cover and only a bottom sheet and blanket. The pillows were old and flat. There was only one white old stiff bath towel & a couple of hand towels. The toilet and shower was not clean. There was also no fire alarm. When I complained to the host he brought another bath towel, fire alarm & a space heater. He really is a nice guy but for the price it should have been in much better shape. The furniture is old. The bed is not comfortable. There is no way 2 people could sleep there comfortably. Also the studio share walls with the main house. One night the tenants were partying late… like 2am. He was unable to get them to stop screaming and making noise. There is a door on my side and I opened it… there’s a door on there side and I opened it and could see the people in the house. There was only a partial covering. I yelled at them to be quiet & they finally shut it down at 3:00 am. I went out and purchased sheets, towels a comforter and some candles & I was able to make myself comfortable for the remainder of the stay . I did tell the owner after the night of the party that I wanted to leave and I wanted a refund and he said I could leave but would have to take it up with VRBO. I couldn’t afford to rent another place not knowing if I would get a refund from VRBO. Ultimately, it could be a cozy place if they spent some money to upgrade the bed dresser etc and had a cleaning person.
