  • Amazing house

"We had a wonderful stay in this house!! I would happily stay here again on my next visit to the area. As the other reviewers have mentioned the house is clean, cozy, modern and peaceful, and it's clear that the owners have a background in art and design. The kitchen was also well-equipped. Despite the fact that the house is quiet and secluded, it's also close to shops, restaurants and other amenities--this made it super convenient. We spent most of our days hiking in Big Sur, which is only a short drive away. We also spent one night in the guest house. The guest house is every bit as nice as the main house, but it's smaller. It's really meant for a couple, but there's a fold-out sofa that could be used for a third person in a pinch."

  • Perfect week!

"Eight of us spent a wonderful week in Carmel at the Forest Oasis home. (Our second time) The house is beautiful and perfectly set up for a big group. The bedrooms all have comfortable queen-sized beds and are plenty roomy. The dining room is a great size for eating and evening card games. But the pool and patio are the stars! The pool is heated before we come and we never want to leave. Great patio table and chairs for outside lunches and happy hours... downstairs bar fully stocked with plastic wine and drinking glasses to use outside. The home is awesome!"

  • Perfectly Simple

"This is our last few hours at this house in Carmel. Now that we know what Carmel is (an extremely ritzy community), I can understand some of the previous reviews. This house was perfect for my family. It is simple, clean and more than adequate for a 10 day vacation. It is not granite countertops and marble bathrooms. It is a short walk to the beach in a quiet neighborhood and all the basic essentials to cook at home. Thank you Susan and extended family for sharing your home. We enjoyed our time here. This home is completely adequate for families like mine that need a home base to explore the region. The Nebraskans!"

  • A great place to stay...

"Enchanted Oaks was a great "home base" for our family's active California vacation. Our four night stay was primarily a place to relax at night after long days of activities. We were about 3 minutes from Highway 1, 7 minutes from downtown Carmel, 15 minutes from Monterrey, and 7 minutes from Point Lobos. We especially appreciated Dan providing local restaurant recommendations (Mission Ranch, Sur) versus our plan to visit the touristy Hog's Breath Inn. Little details such as a things to do binder, travel books on the area, designer soap bar, candy jars and Scrabble/cards/dominos were not lost on us. I would move my review to a 5 star review if there was a pull out bed vs. the air mattress."
