  • Amazing Weekend Getaway

"We are two working professionals from LA who were looking for a quiet place to go and relax. We truly found this at the Aloha Cottage in Carmel!!! As we walked into the cottage that was tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood, there was a sense of heartfelt welcome not only because of the beautiful architecture/landscape, but also due to the amazing attention to details. They had unique snacks, a full selection of drinks for the Keurig coffee maker and nearly 300 movies to enjoy on iTunes! The owners really go above and beyond to ensure that their guests feel invited and very comfortable. Our first morning there, we got to meet Martin. It was such a pleasure to meet him after exchanging emails, which were thorough. We especially appreciated his 5 day itinerary, with activities and dining options. There were so many places to choose from. We got lunch from 5th Ave Deli, ate dinner at Flying Fish, and had French pastries from Patisserie Boissiere Restaurant and Lafayette Bakery & Cafe. The Monterey Aquarium (they generously shared their 2 guest passes) and Point Lobos State Natural Reserve (with amazing ocean views) were both an easy drive from the home. Next time, we hope to visit with a few other couples and rent out the Main Residence at Aloha Estate to rest again in peacefulness and share new memories. If you’re looking for a truly relaxing getaway (and not have to worry about noisy hotel/B&B “neighbors”), check this place out; you will not be disappointed! The best way to describe our time was that we did not feel like renters but rather guests of Martin's home. Thank you!!!"

  • Breathtaking

"Even for a person who has lived most of my life on the coast, staying at the Abalone Cottage was an incredibly experience. To have the Pacific Ocean as part of the front yard is so seldom experienced that it was all we could do to tear ourselves away from the view to do anything else. The cottage is immaculately maintained both inside and out, no small task for a home on the water. The furniture is extremely comfortable, the kitchen had everything I could possibly need, the linens were wonderful, more hidden in plain sight storage space was discovered every day, lanterns and flashlights were conveniently placed should we lose power (we didn't) and wood available should we want to make a fire. The showers were great, the bathroom spotless, plenty of extra towels for shower or the beach and even an apartment size washer/dryer was provided. There is nothing more we could have asked for. We were in love and truly hope to return next year."

  • PERFECT

"This birthday celebration will always be a special memory for me and my family that will last forever! We had an AMAZING time at Hacienda Aquajito . . . everything was PERFECT. There were 12 of us all together (3 generations). We now stretch from Philadelphia to San Francisco and to have our daughters, grandchildren and their families together was wonderful. This home is beautiful and we enjoyed choosing our bedrooms and settling in for a wonderful vacation. My granddaughter picked out her room months ago when she saw the carousel horse in one of the bedrooms! We enjoyed a fire in the living room fireplace the first night along with a wonderful meal from a caterer recommended by Cheryl. Each day just got better! Every morning started w/ me preparing breakfast for my grandchildren and then walking down to see the horses being fed. This was a very special for me to be able to have this time with them before our day began. There was so much to do. We went to Big Sur, Point Lobos, Carmel Beach, Monterey Aquarium and many wonderful restaurants but always looked forward to going home to The Hacienda. It was here that my grandchildren got to feed and sit on the Arabian horses, spend time at the pond and explore the beautiful gardens. The hot tub was another favorite for them. We all enjoyed sitting around the fire pit outside in the evening and the beautiful views from every balcony and patio. Talk about Secret Gardens . . . Our last night ended as PERFECT as our first! We all enjoyed a wonderful meal of pizza made in the wood-fired pizza oven on the patio. It was so much FUN to make and just be together. Thank you so much Cheryl. You were so much help before and after we arrived! My family also enjoyed meeting and talking to Peterson and enjoyed the homemade bread! The macaw was a bonus! We will always have fond memories of our time spent in your beautiful home and look forward to coming back someday!"

  • Carmel Beach House

"Wonderful location with an older home. Just like my grandmothers, even with the built in ironing board. The stairs to the beach were literally out the front door. front windows looked out to Pebble Beach on the right and Point Lobos to the left. Location, location, location. A bit of a walk uphill to the shops in town for older folks, but public parking was plentiful. Three spacious bedrooms with the master upstairs with its own balcony. An older home but quite nicely kept and supplied. Definitely would go again."
