  • Breathtaking

"Even for a person who has lived most of my life on the coast, staying at the Abalone Cottage was an incredibly experience. To have the Pacific Ocean as part of the front yard is so seldom experienced that it was all we could do to tear ourselves away from the view to do anything else. The cottage is immaculately maintained both inside and out, no small task for a home on the water. The furniture is extremely comfortable, the kitchen had everything I could possibly need, the linens were wonderful, more hidden in plain sight storage space was discovered every day, lanterns and flashlights were conveniently placed should we lose power (we didn't) and wood available should we want to make a fire. The showers were great, the bathroom spotless, plenty of extra towels for shower or the beach and even an apartment size washer/dryer was provided. There is nothing more we could have asked for. We were in love and truly hope to return next year."

  • Truly Charming Cottage

"If you're familiar with Carmel's history and the Tuck Box, staying at this Snow White Cottage was like living in a fairy tale. Simply perfect. Enter into a well-appointed living room with a wonderful fireplace and find yourself instantly feeling cozy and content to just spend some at home. The cottage has been completely updated, yet it holds still all the old charm of Carmel-By-The-Sea. The interior design, furniture, kitchen, bathrooms (including steam shower), and bedding were all wonderful. The location is perfect within just a few blocks and an easy walk to shops, restaurants, and wine tasting throughout Carmel. I will definitely return to Snow White Cottage...a month would be perfect!"

  • A great place to stay...

"Enchanted Oaks was a great "home base" for our family's active California vacation. Our four night stay was primarily a place to relax at night after long days of activities. We were about 3 minutes from Highway 1, 7 minutes from downtown Carmel, 15 minutes from Monterrey, and 7 minutes from Point Lobos. We especially appreciated Dan providing local restaurant recommendations (Mission Ranch, Sur) versus our plan to visit the touristy Hog's Breath Inn. Little details such as a things to do binder, travel books on the area, designer soap bar, candy jars and Scrabble/cards/dominos were not lost on us. I would move my review to a 5 star review if there was a pull out bed vs. the air mattress."

  • Lovely, Serene and Quiet

"We had a wonderful weekend reunion in this lovely home. The setting is beautiful, serene and quiet. The home was built in the 1970's by an artist, and has that vibe. Lots of outdoor seating areas. We loved walking the Carmel neighborhoods to see all the unique homes. The Scenic Drive walk along the coast is beautiful! Be prepared to walk uphill to downtown Carmel. It is easiest to walk the blocks in a "zig-zag" fashion, one east-west, one north-south, etc., rather than leaving all the uphill blocks to the end. The owner is very gracious. The home is perfect for any group that needs three bedrooms. Each bedroom and bathroom is in a separate area and feels very private. One thing to note is that there are stairs, both inside and outside, so it may not be appropriate for anyone who is physically impaired."
