  • Lovely, Serene and Quiet

"We had a wonderful weekend reunion in this lovely home. The setting is beautiful, serene and quiet. The home was built in the 1970's by an artist, and has that vibe. Lots of outdoor seating areas. We loved walking the Carmel neighborhoods to see all the unique homes. The Scenic Drive walk along the coast is beautiful! Be prepared to walk uphill to downtown Carmel. It is easiest to walk the blocks in a "zig-zag" fashion, one east-west, one north-south, etc., rather than leaving all the uphill blocks to the end. The owner is very gracious. The home is perfect for any group that needs three bedrooms. Each bedroom and bathroom is in a separate area and feels very private. One thing to note is that there are stairs, both inside and outside, so it may not be appropriate for anyone who is physically impaired."

  • A Special Place

"If what you're looking for is a functional, charming cottage in a beautiful location steps from Monastery Beach, where you can watch the waves crash against the rocks with your morning coffee, then you've found your place. We enjoyed walking up the coastal trail which starts in the back yard, but were always happy to return to our home-away-from-home among the Eucalyptus trees. A grill and fireplace are provided to take some of the chill out of the Pacific breezes. We couldn't have asked for a better place to relax by the sea. Keep in mind it's not a swimming beach, so if you're looking for that you probably want to head up to Carmel."

  • Great great experience

"We stayed in the cabin for 2 nights with our young children. The cabin is so cozy and comfortable. We loved the sauna as well. We had so much fun and the kids were so sad to leave. We will definitely come back in the future. The kids said it felt like we were in the enchanted forest! Everything was perfect and we would recommend it for anybody. Thank you Monica and Joel, we made some great family memories there."

  • Amazing house

"We had a wonderful stay in this house!! I would happily stay here again on my next visit to the area. As the other reviewers have mentioned the house is clean, cozy, modern and peaceful, and it's clear that the owners have a background in art and design. The kitchen was also well-equipped. Despite the fact that the house is quiet and secluded, it's also close to shops, restaurants and other amenities--this made it super convenient. We spent most of our days hiking in Big Sur, which is only a short drive away. We also spent one night in the guest house. The guest house is every bit as nice as the main house, but it's smaller. It's really meant for a couple, but there's a fold-out sofa that could be used for a third person in a pinch."
