  • Amazing Experience!

"All I can say is WOW! From the moment you pull into the driveway, walk through the front door, and then step foot onto your private bluff overlooking the waves crashing on the rocks in front of you, you've said WOW about 10 times. My husband and I surprised my parents and my sister and brother-in-law with a trip up to Carmel early this year (2/12-2/15), and Pelican Cove made a special place even more so for all of us. My family grew up in NorCal, but we now all live in SoCal, so we miss how easy it used to be to pop on over to Carmel for the day or weekend and soak in it's beauty. I have many fond memories with my family there, and it's a special place for my parents as they honeymooned there. Well, thanks to our wonderful stay at the beautiful Pelican Cove, we have yet another VERY special memory that my entire family can share in. The home is STUNNING and was so very accommodating for the 6 of us. There's more than enough room for everyone, and you're mesmerized by the water crashing on the rocks with every room you enter. We spent one of the nights in and cooked, and had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. Especially when we all cozied up to the gorgeous fireplace with a night cap. I can only hope we get the opportunity to stay again as I'd love to bring my family back with my in-laws as well. Thank you for sharing such a special place."

  • Lovely peaceful 1 floor house, ideal for dogs.

"Had a very pleasant stay for a week in April. Great location, quiet and perfect for small dogs. Fenced yard completely pet proof. 20 min walk to the middle of Carmel shops along quiet, polite streets. No surprises, it is exactly as advertised. Two master bedrooms, with all the amenities you could need. Wifi worked, garage for the vehicle and good tv's. Carmel and the neighbourhood is a safe and friendly as it gets. Very solidly recommended."

  • Wonderful, Peaceful, Romantic Stay

"My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Tuckaway in September 2016, and our only regret is that it was way too short a stay. The terraced gardens and luxurious seating provided was the perfect place to watch the sun go down and to stargaze. Bill has done an incredible job with the landscaping, and the gardens are perfectly manicured. A real pleasure to relax in those surroundings. Once inside, there is real attention to detail, and there is so much comfort in the relatively small space. We loved it. The bed is super comfortable, ensuring a good nights sleep, and the bathroom has a good shower and everything you could need. Comfortable chairs for two should you want to stay inside and watch TV, and more than adequate and well equipped kitchen and dining areas make this a great space to eat in and breakfast. The whole place oozes calm and tranquility. We were genuinely disappointed to be leaving. Bill was on hand if you needed anything, but totally discreet. His advice on places to visit were excellent too (we would have been sad indeed to have missed breakfast at Deetjuns on the way down Highway 1 had it not been recommended by Bill). All in all, one of our best VRBO / Homeaway experiences (and we have had many now). Thank you so much Bill, and we hope to come again in future. K & N"

  • Great house, central location, spectacular views, very peaceful.

"The house is in great condition, clean tidy, and ready to receive families. As the owner points out you do need to be mindful of the children dashing around unsupervised as they can inadvertently fall off things, but I characterize that as all 'normal stuff'. We had three inquisitive and excitable children wanting to explore, so use your common sense, and don't let them stray out of sight. The house has the most spectacular views, I mean the sort of views you can just stare at for hours. The drive up to the house is steep but not really a bother, the faint hearted may grumble a little, but the destination views would be suffering the grumbles for! Overall we had a great time for 4 days, exploring the local region. The pool and pool cover do a good job of keeping the water a nice temperature for swimming, something I was surprised at given the pool is huge! The owner is attentive and swift to respond/help with anything you may need, which won't be a lot! I would highly recommend this property."
