The view from the deck is gorgeous! Access to the beach was so easy. The house was perfect for all of us. Bedrooms are nice size, kitchen has what is needed, and plenty of storage for all your needs. Thank you for a great place to stay!

What a great house! Close proximity to shopping and restaurants and of course direct access to the beach. Very clean and plenty of room for all 9 of our family. Kitchen had all the needed equipment and wares. We highly recommend this location and will definitely be back!

Relaxing Stay

My family had a wonderful time at this lovely beach house! The view was breathtaking, perfect and easy walk to beach right from porch. The couch in the living room is so cozy and perfect for family of 4 watching movies and taking naps. There were more than enough bedrooms and extra beds. Two families could easily stay here together. Both decks were perfect for sitting relaxing eating. Plenty of kitchen equipment for cooking meals. Small details and fixes we recommend but shouldn’t keep anyone from staying: master bathroom caulking had some mold at baseboard edge of tub need to be cleaned up, master bedroom bed was very squeeky and wakes you if you move around too much. Lamp outlets didn’t work. Several outlets around the house did not work and need to be replaced. Closets need hangers OR more shelves to make them more useful closet in the kitchen and bedrooms. If they fix up some of these details we would stay again.

Family vacation

This is a great place for a family vacation. The beach is just a few steps from the back deck, and the view from the back of the house is beautiful. The beds could use updating as they don't seem to be queen size as advertised, and they aren't very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Gulf shores

Front door had No inside Lock..My 17mth old granddaughter opened it,We had to put a chair in front of it.Outlet in kitchen by sink didnt work,No grill..Rusty door on balconey in master bedroom.I worked hard all year to pay for this and No lock,hair in bathroom vanity drawers.I have pics of it all if you need.Board in carport sticking up bad had 2 people fall..Location great,but for that price I want my family safe.

Great house!

The house was newly remodeled. It was clean and exactly what was listed online. The location was perfect! Right on the beach and just a short drive to stores and restaurants.

Fabulous location and access to the beach. Spacious and convenient. Beds are advertised as queen, but sure don’t seem that big. Need new mattresses.

Nice location on the beach. The place is in desperate need of updating. Faucets run contentious with a few roaches. Everything needs paint and updated. Enjoyed our time with family but if your looking for luxurious living please pass on this one.

Great family vacation

This home and location were great! We had a great time. The house has everything needed for a comfortable, great vacation and it's right on the beach. Some small parts of the house could use a fresh coat of paint, but otherwise great rental!

Family gathering

For this trip, we rented both sides of the property. First the good. The location was perfect for us. The view from the porch doesn't get better. There were 22 of us and the house was plenty spacious. We did not want to use the pull out sofas in the living rooms and it was not necessary. We ranged in age from 9 to 90. The beds were average, but comfortable enough. The main complaint for both sides was in the kitchen. If the owner/manager would spend just a little to upgrade a few of the pots, pans and utensils, it would go a long way. For example, the skillets were peeling Teflon and some of the large plastic bowls had holes in them. There was a vacuum cleaner on only one side and it didn't work unless you just used the hose connection. Both sides had a tiny broom which was really the only thing to keep the sand swept up. All that said, everyone agreed we'd go back in a heartbeat!

Great location but needs maintenance and cleaning

Great beachfront location. Needs maintenance. The heating on the top floor did not work. That was tough on a cold night (40 degrees). The beds were not clean. The sheets had a lot of body hair. One sheet had a small blood stain.

Not professional

Called the day of check in early to be shure everything was good. Check in was 4 got there no power called was told power would be on shortly 9:38 got a different place and hassled by the local police while trying to find it and got a different property that was not beach front said that was all they had. The following day road the beach and they had multiple beach front properties that were vacant with power. Youngs sun coast is the worst if you're coming to Gulf Shores use someone else

Girls Trip 2020

We had a great time and liked that the house was right there on the beach, the house was big enough for the 8 people. The only complaint we had was there was not dish soap for the first night for doing pans etc..., after traveling all day no one wanted to go to the store right away and that was something not put in to things to pack with us either. It also would have been nice to have more towels. Other than that we had a great time.

Loved it

Our family absolutely loved our stay here. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. It truly felt like home away from home. Property manager was so friendly and helpful. Awesome view of the sunrise and sunset. We will be back here to this property soon.

Great Location Dirty House

If you rent this property, realize that you are only paying for the view and the location to the beach. When we arrived, after a 14 hour drive, we scratched our back bumper on a steep drop off from the road to the driveway, they sent people to repair that on Tuesday morning. Then we could not get in, because someone had tried to break in and tore up the door. They sent maintenance to help us get inside. The door was broken, and was never fixed even though we spent 6 days at the property. We were shocked when we walked inside. The house was dirty and the upholstery was worn off of the arms of the chair. The TV remote was missing the select button, so it was difficult to watch TV. There is a beautiful view, if you could see out of the windows. The decks were all very nice. The ceiling fans were fuzzy, and our bedding was dirty in all 4 bedrooms. Youngs Suncoast sent cleaning people to re-clean the house and they sent clean bedding. They also gave us our money back for 1 day, because we were a bit unsettled because of the attempted break in and dirty bedding. We have rented several vacation houses before, and this was by far the worst stocked kitchen I've ever seen. There wasn't even salt and pepper. There was only 1 dish cloth, and 1 kitchen towel in the house, no potholders or oven mitts. The kitchen and appliances were very clean. The whole house is in dire need of updating, the finish is worn off of all of the cabinets. IF YOU RENT THIS HOUSE, BRING ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING FROM HOME, or you will spend a long time in Walmart. There were no lightbulbs in one bedroom and hall bathroom. We asked for lightbulbs on Sunday, maintanence brought them on Wednesday. Our ceiling fan in the master bedroom was so loud, we couldn't sleep, it was fixed on Wednesday as well. The bed frame in the front bedroom is broken. The vent in the hallway is completely covered in fuzz and dust. SO, if you rent this house, realize that the house is dated and needs a good cleaning. The location is phenomenal. It is directly on the beach and close to all the attractions and restaurants, but far enough away from condos that the beach isn't crowded. I'll definitely go back to Gulf Shores, but I wont be staying at the Bonhomme Richard East.

Beach, sun, food - close to EVERYTHING

The renting process was simple. The property was awesome. All we needed was close to the beach. And it was on the beach! Kitchen had a microwave oven and stove. We weren’t there to watch TV but they’re only two working TVs out of the four bedrooms and great room available. Balconies to three of the bedrooms.

Wonderful location and views but home needs some TLC!

Overall, we had a wonderful trip. The location was beautiful and the proximity to the ocean was perfect. However, we listed some things that need to be addressed with this rental, that could make a HUGE difference! Lights in entire place (every light- in unison) blinked each evening- this was a serious problem as we had a guest who takes medication for seizures. Kitchen not very well appointed at all- missing very basic necessities (oven mitts are just one example). We purchased plastic cups and have donated them to the duplex. We purchased a large pot and donated it as well. Salt and pepper would have been nice to find as well- this is the first VRBO rental I’ve been in that didn’t provide that. Kitchen is also in need of updating- stained counter tops and finish is nearly worn off on cabinets. Place could use improvements- doors were dingy/dirty (seal broken in beach front windows- affecting view). no end tables or lights in living room TV table was a broken end table with an oversized board across the top. Tacky looking. Chairs on upstairs beach front balcony were rusty and not safe to sit on. Sinks in every bathroom were slow to drain. After-hours answering service was not very professional- when I called to report every light in the house blinking- worries about an electrical short or fire hazard, I was told that I should call in the morning. It was only when I insisted, that my problem was forwarded, but we still didn’t get any sort of response until the next day- needless to say, we were very apprehensive the first night- particularly (as mentioned previously) having someone in the house with a risk of seizures- which the lights could easily have triggered. I did not feel as if this issue was taken seriously at all. DVD player was found to have no cords when we went to use it. Maintenance actually responded quickly and took the DVD player from the neighboring unit. Overall, the place is fine, but the duplex needs some major TLC. I had seen similar comments on previous reviews, but it’s clear that these recommendations have not been acted upon as of yet. We’d love to stay here again, after some repairs and updates have been made. The location is amazing, but I’d be willing to pay a little more to have a place in better working order. Ultimately, in booking this place, you’re paying entirely for location. The location can not be beat. The accommodations were adequate, but could be phenomenal with minimal updating.
