Fantastic stay at Sanibel Moorings

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Arrived early and was able to check in early. The condo was clean, absolutely gorgeous and had all we needed for a week stay. I have been coming to sanibel moorings for 30+ years. Never ever had a bad stay here. This is the only place to stay on the Island. The shelling, water, accommodations are epic!

Towels

We needed more kitchen towels and only got towels on Wednesdays. We only arrived Wednesday night so didn't know we would need more. Overall we would definately stay again. Clean waterfront and everyone was so friendly. Thank you !!

Exactly what we were looking for

The location is perfect. From the balcony attached to the living room, you have a great view of the ocean and you can faintly hear the waves. The property is undergoing a lot of construction but there really wasn't a problem with noise. Be aware that the balcony attached to the bedroom has not yet been repaired and is inaccessible. There is also a little reduced lighting in the living/dining area that looks like it still needs to be replaced. But this also didn't really impact us since the natural lighting was so good. Overall, it was cozy and exactly what we were hoping for. We hope to stay again in the future.

Nice to be back to Sanibel

There is still renovations being done due to hurricane Ian, but it did not bother us.

location was great. easy and the closest access to the beach. Great view as well. Apartment was just fine for us- a little dated but who cares. It was clean and comfortable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, let me be clear, Sanibel Moorings is awesome. Great location, nice staff, beautifully maintained grounds, etc. we’ve been staying in the same room for the past 15 years, we love it. However the room itself needs some major TLC. Big stains on the couch, the front door has a large crack around the frame, the whole condo really needs to be re-painted, Needs a deep clean, etc. Hopefully the owner will put some money back into their investment and bring it back to its previously glorious state. On the plus side, the room’s location is excellent and the beds and bed linens are super comfortable.

It has beautiful grounds and exotic, tropical plants everywhere that put out gorgeous blooms. Also enjoyed watching the local wildlife (bunnies, birds, turtles) on the grounds. This unit has a wonderful location on the second floor with two balconies that have gorgeous ocean views. I liked that there were twin beds for my two kids. Each room conveniently has a TV. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the unit was clean overall. The decor is decent, but a bit tired looking. The unit is in desperate need of a paint job and would suggest tile flooring instead of carpet given the sand. The kitchen ceiling fan didn’t seem to work and the guest bath exhaust fan sounds terrible.

There are a lot of places to stay, and I would try to avoid this property if possible. We have stayed at numerous units at Sanibel Moorings over the last 10 years and this one was the most outdated. It was one of the furthest units from the amenities like grills, laundry, pool, etc... The view was not worth the added expense given the other factors.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The furniture was cute and looked like the pictures. The bedding and pillows were comfortable. There was a lot of wear and tear in the unit. Peeling paint, lots of dings on walls and molding. The carpet could be replaced (shaggy carpet in Florida with moisture and sand don’t go well together). Slow drain in master bath, rusty shower curtain rods and curtain hangers. Bathrooms could use a lot of help. The overall Moorings property was wonderful for our stay. Close to the beach with chairs and umbrellas. Our group of 16 with 8 kids under 9 years old did not appreciate the adult only time at the pool. We had to plan out days around that time and naps and most of our kids only wanted to be at the pool. I’ve never stayed anywhere that had that rule. We were respectful and made sure we picked up and left at that time, but having a pool to use in the middle of the hot afternoon day next to you condo unit in FL is something that we thought we were paying for. Had we known about the pool closure to our kids in the middle of the afternoon, I don’t think we would have booked here.

Great unit with an even better view!

This rental was exactly as described in its listing. It’s location, condition, and accommodations were great. We’ve been coming to Sanibel for over 30 years, first when I was a kid with my family and grandparents and now we take our children her to visit my parents who rent a condo for two months. We’ve experienced a lot of different properties over the years. We enjoyed the extensive list of amenities and wonderful location the Moorings had to offer. The staff needs more support.

Great location and comfortable accomadation.

Enjoyed the beach, pool, tennis, pickleball and biking all available on the premises. The unit was well appointed and very comfortable.

So close to the beach, able to bike to dinner, grocery stores and the refuge. The sunrise was gorgeous from our bedroom patio!
