About this property
Cabin w/ hot tub & fire pit
Summary:
Escape to a cozy woodland cabin at The Woods Resort, ideal for families, friends, and dogs seeking quiet mountain mornings and fireside evenings. Minutes from hiking trails, a lake, and Berkeley Springs.
- Sleeps 8 | 3 bedrooms | 6 beds | 2 baths
- Hot tub & outdoor fire pit for chilly nights
- Multi‑level deck w/ BBQ grill
- Indoor fireplace, TV & WiFi
- Fully equipped kitchen & washer‑dryer
- Pet‑friendly & family‑friendly setup
The Space:
Snow settles quietly through the trees as you arrive, the woods hushed and still, broken only by the soft crunch underfoot. Steam curls into the cold air from the hot tub while warm light spills from the cabin windows, inviting you inside after a day outdoors. Evenings are made for slowing down—fires crackle, cards spread across the table, and long conversations stretch late into the night.
Sleeping Arrangements
The cabin sleeps up to eight guests across three bedrooms. The primary bedroom offers a queen bed, a wood‑burning stove, and private access to the primary bathroom. A second bedroom holds a queen bed, and the third bedroom features two sets of standard bunk beds, perfect for kids or extra guests.
Bathrooms
Two full bathrooms serve the group. The common bathroom includes a bathtub, while the primary bathroom provides a custom tile shower and a floating tub. Bathroom essentials are supplied for comfort.
Kitchen & Living Space
A fully equipped kitchen opens into the main living area, keeping everyone connected while meals are prepared. After dinner, settle onto the sofa to stream a movie on the TV or curl up with a book beside the indoor fireplace. Wi‑Fi is included for streaming and light remote work, though the remote mountain setting can make the signal slower or spotty at times. A dedicated workspace is available for planning the next day’s adventure.
Outdoor Living
Step onto the large multi‑level deck that overlooks the woods, complete with a BBQ grill for year‑round cooking. The hot tub steams in the winter air, and a nearby fire pit becomes the natural gathering place once night falls, perfect for quiet conversation beneath the stars.
Family & Pet Friendly Comfort
Children’s books, toys, and board games are provided, making it easy to settle in without overplanning. The cabin welcomes dogs; cats are not allowed due to an allergy. Free parking on the premises and a private entrance keep arrivals and departures simple.
The Area
Located minutes from Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area, you have access to miles of trails and a large lake surrounded by forest. Berkeley Springs is a short drive away, offering an arts community, shops, restaurants, and a local brewery and winery. Within The Woods Resort, walking trails are free, while the golf course is available for a modest fee. The resort’s fitness center and indoor/outdoor pools are reserved for members only.
Embrace the quiet rhythm of the mountains, where winter days unfold slowly and evenings invite you to linger.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Oak Grove in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
