About Eric Koenig

We moved from Idaho Falls to Provo, Utah, and really have fun spending time at the cabin when it is not being enjoyed by others.

Eric Koenig purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Eric Koenig chose Island Park

Idaho is just so beautiful! We had this cabin built to house all of our family for vacationing. Each room was built for our children and ourselves. We have enjoyed it fully and decided to share it with you!

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy our family time at Amazing Daze. With so much to do and nature to enjoy, sometimes the best thing to do is just relax and be up here in nature.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks you! We had a ton of fun. Loved the docks so close to the cabin. This is the second time some of us have been here. Hope to be back. A wonderful place. Thanks!

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time ! It was exactly what I had hoped for. The cabin was large enough to accomodate our family - loved the openness of the kitchen, family room- the pool table just off the family room on the main floor was a bonus! Owner was very helpful if we had any questions - overall great time and great cabin! Thank you Eric and Rissa for sharing your cabin with us!! I'm sure we will be back

5 stars. Great home for family get togethers

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for a family reunion and loved it. The home is beautiful in style and quality, and it is equipped with just about everything, including tubes for floating in the lake. It even had two pack n' plays for those who have infants. The outdoor deck and fireplace create a wonderful ambiance and nice views of the lake. The garage and driveway provided ample parking for the various family members.

The only downsides were that (1) the internet reception is weak and made downloading anything almost impossible; and (2) for those groups who need a 6th bedroom, it is really a den with a fold out bed that isn't very comfortable.

Overall, it is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay for your family reunion. It was our pleasure to have you stay at our little piece of heaven. I am sorry that the internet struggled while you were there. We have just installed a new top of the line wireless router that should help with the internet issue. As far as the 6th bedroom, we really consider the theater room with the 2 futons as the 6th bedroom and the game room upstairs with the sofa bed as an extra 7th bedroom if necessary. I'm sorry that the pull out isn't the most comfortable. We are going to add a foam topper to it to make it more comfortable for the times it is needed to be used. We really appreciate your feedback and am glad that you had a great stay.

Very, very fun

  • 4 of 5

This was a large and spacious home. Room for everyone. (22) Owner was very responsive to our needs regarding some housing issues. It was in the perfect spot, with a pvt. dock. That made all of the difference for our teen grandkids. Close to Yellowstone, the Mac's in Playhouse (don't miss that) and a river float down Big Springs.

Perfect accommodations to a perfect holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has stayed in many VRBO properties over the past 25 years but we have never been this spoiled! Every comfort of home was included in our stay. The kitchen was stocked superbly for all of our cooking needs. The owners were very accommodating and replied immediately to our correspondence. We could not have asked for a better holiday get away. Cheers!!!!

Breathtaking Home

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Amazing Daze is a perfect set of words to describe this beautiful home. I chose to use the word home over house because this residency feels like a home. A luxury home. It had all the household amenities (soap, spices, paper towels, etc) one would need, short of food. You can tell a lot of love went not only into building this home which can be seen in the cabinets, the trex deck, the counter tops, the windows, the doors, the heating and cooling system but also in the furnishings of this home. Upgraded carpet, the comfy leather couches even down to the mattresses and lines selected. Someone put a lot of thought into creating a luxury retreat for any family that stays here. Even if you never left the home to walk 30 feet down to the lake you wouldn't be disappointed in your vacation. This is a wonderful home. And we look forward to coming back to Island Park in the near future and staying at this home again.

Wonderful place!

  • 4 of 5

Our extended family of 20 stayed comfortably at the cabin - we loved the large living space upstairs where we could all gather, eat, play games, watch tv, and just socialize. We had 5 couples with their families and it was nice that we each had a private space (a bedroom with a bathroom) where we could put our things and find a quiet moment if necessary. :) We had several teenagers that loved the pool table and the hot tub. The hot tub was clean and well maintained, we definitely put it to good use. The pictures and info on the listing are accurate and the owner was very easy to work with.

The private dock was wonderful for taking off in our 3 canoes and 3 paddle boards, and inner tubes at the cabin were nice to have also. The water was low at the time, so not great for swimming but still a lot of fun. The deck space around the cabin was wonderful! We loved sitting out by the fireplace in the evening. There are several spaces to gather in different groups. We even used the grill one evening - it was clean and easy to use. The view from the lower patio is awesome, we enjoyed watching the water activities and taking in the beautiful scenery from there.

The kitchen was very nice and spacious. We cooked together and ate meals together - there was plenty of room for all of us to gather. There is an extra fridge in the garage which was great. It would have been nice to have the pantry cleared of food before we arrived so that we had room for all of our stuff, but we just moved things aside and it worked out well.

Overall the experience was wonderful! The only concerns were relatively small - when we arrived our code for the front door didn't work, there were a few items found under furniture (left from previous guests), and the towels were sour so we had to use our own and wash the others before use. The washer and dryer were large and new, it would have been nice to have another set to use as we were required to wash towels before we left.

We saw plenty of wildlife which was fun - deer, elk, moose, pelicans, and even a bald eagle that landed on a tree near the lower patio. We went to West Yellowstone one evening and attended a play at the Playmill, always a favorite activity of ours. We could have gone into Yellowstone one day, but we just wanted to enjoy the time together in the water and at the cabin!

The house itself and surrounding area were amazing, we would definitely stay there again!
