About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 10

The best of both worlds! This old-time charmer is a classic Oregon Coast vacation home, just two blocks from the beach and all the attractions of popular Seaside, but quiet and secluded on a private wooded lot. Enjoy all the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of the busy Promenade and Broadway Street, then retire to your own private retreat with ocean views and backyard.

All of Seaside is just outside your front door, only two blocks from the sandy beach known for razor clamming, sand castle building, and kite flying. Stroll along the historic Promenade where you'll find indoor miniture golf, bumper cars, tiltawhirl and the Funcenter Arcade for the kids.

Full of retro coastal charm, this laid-back beach house features original architecture and finishes from its construction in 1949.

Downstairs is a beautifully furnished living room with a lovely fireplace (for decoration only). A large, sunny kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and equipment needed to prepare meals, which may be enjoyed in the breakfast nook or dining room.

The large backyard is fenced and private, with a barbecue and dining table for six people. It's the ideal spot for kids to play, or soak in the fresh ocean breezes over dinner.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home will sleep 10 guests (eight adults, please). The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and an attached bathroom. Upstairs, the master suite features a king bed and attached bathroom, plus the entrance to the upper outdoor deck. Looking westward from the deck you'll have a bird's eye view of the ocean and the historic promenade that stretches up and down the beach front for almost two miles. Two additional bedrooms each have two beds, a full and a twin in one with a queen in the other.

The home is only three blocks from one of the several Seaside bridges over the Necanicum river that provides good crabbing and steel head fishing. Less than a mile to the south is the public golf course, surfing at "The Cove", and hiking along the Tillamook trail from which there are excellent views of the historic Seaside lighthouse.

Come and learn why Seaside is one of the Oregon Coast's most popular destinations!

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

House has a great location and beautiful big yard. Comfortable, but could use some updating. It would be nicer if the windows in kitchen opened. The handles were taken off for some reason.

Look forward to our annual beach trip to this house!

  • 5 of 5

Great location. We park our cars in the roomy 2 car garage and walk everywhere. 2 blocks to the beach and 3 to downtown. Great Seaside brewery, arcade for the kids, had pizza & beer while watching the Little League World Series in the arcade food area. Rented the three wheel bikes. Blast to ride on the beach. Bumper cars were fun. This is our fourth summer at this house. Kids and grandkids love staying here. House is older but great for large groups. Has character. Not fancy, has a relaxing beachy feel. Accommodates 8 people well. Beds are comfortable, house was clean. No washer & dryer so bring extra clothes, dish towels for kitchen. Bed comforters and pillows could stand to be replaced. Curtain in master bath should be up dated. New patio furniture and BBQ were a great addition. We spent more time in the beautiful back yard and cooked out. Looks like the yard had been cleaned up. Updated living room sofa and love seat (replaced last year) was a positive as well as the increased DVD library. No cable. Fireplace does not work. Appreciate the new larger refrigerator and good idea to place the old one in the garage for additional space. Found that when the two upstairs showers are used at the same time the water backs up in the tubs. Appears to drain normally if only one is being used at a time. Internet worked well.Reservation process is great. Easy on-line booking. Have never had any issues. Instructions are emailed a week before our arrival. Easy to follow. Wanted to extend our reservation an extra day. Couldn't do that on line so had to call, but the person called back the next day and booking was quick and easy over the phone. Friendly and helpful staff! Internet worked well.

Owner's Response: We are happy to see this guest enjoyed the new additions and updates! At this time the owner is not interested in updating the bedding as it is in good condition even though it is older. Thanks!

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

This is our fourth summer at this house. Our family loves staying here. The house is older but has character. Not fancy, but beachy and relaxed. Great location. We can park our cars in the large garage and walk everywhere. Close to the beach and town. Rooms are large and open so accommodates a big group well. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pots/pans. Good selection of DVDs. Loved the new patio furniture, BBQ and refrigerator. Good idea to place the old refrigerator in the garage for extra frig space. Beds are comfortable but could use an update on comforters and pillows. Beautiful backyard. Made a difference since it has been cleaned up and patio furniture added. Curtains in the master bath could stand to be replaced. Just a note that the two showers up stairs don't drain well (water backs up) when they are being used at the same time. If you stagger use they seem to drain ok. Thanks for a great vacation! We look forward to returning for our annual beach trip next year.

Very nice property, location is excellent - walking distance to everything. Great beach access. Kitchen is well stocked with pans, etc. Nice fenced in yard, great for kids. Small fridge in kitchen but a second one in garage. Great yard for barbeque and visiting with friends.

Wonderful!

  • 3 of 5

The house was very cozy and inviting. It's very spacious and with 4 teenage girls, all had their choice of rooms and they all had bathrooms.

The only thing I could suggest is Roku, cable or satellite. TV's all had DVD players, however, only 1 worked. All and all the house was very well set up. Thank You for a fantastic Spring Break!

Owner's Response: We’re so glad this guest loved the cozy comforts and the luxury of their daughters choosing their own bedrooms. That certainly makes for a peaceful atmosphere. We apologize all the DVD players weren’t working. The property manager will troubleshoot the problems. An update will be posted once it’s resolved. Thank you.

The Governor's house was exactly what we needed for our family. Plenty of space and centrally located. Had a great time.
