We just completed a new pickleball court!

Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls).

To ensure uninterrupted power, Buttonwood has a full solar array, back-up batteries to power the entire property, and a connection to the grid in case we ever need it.

NEIGHBORHOOD:

• 10 minute walk to LeoRose ocean front restaurant and to Mel's Snack Shack take-out
• 1 mile from the village of James Cistern with 3 grocery stores, liquor store, two restaurants, and famous Stubbs Barbecue. Other restaurants within a short drive.
• 15 minute drive from Governors Harbour, the main town, with more stores, banks, bakery, and restaurants including famous Tippy's, the Marriott's elegant 1648, and Da Perk gourmet coffee shop.

Another great vacation at Buttonwood

Everything was just perfect, from the temperature of the pool to the condition of the condo, to the local staff and Eleutheravacationrentals.net. We've stayed at Buttonwood several times over the last ten years and don't plan on staying anywhere else!

Beautiful property plenty of room for everybody!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a party of 16 and each family had their own unit which was plenty of space. The house (Building #2)was spotless and had everything we needed. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer with all the kids beach clothes. The beds were so comfortable and loved the decor throughout. The property manager was great and helpful. I understand that living on an island things don’t hold up as well with all the salty air. But the golf carts and barbecue area did need a little help. We hired Brenda and Patrick to help with dinners for a couple nights, they were a very sweet couple. The kept us full and happy. Do be prepared for food and prep to be very expensive.Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal when we were there the week before Christmas. But we did see sunshine a couple days. The locals are super helpful with car rentals, restaurants and things to do. We did a half day excursion with Sheldon at Exotic Excursions. The kids favorite part was feeding the stingrays and the pig island. In the evenings, when the tide was low, the kids really enjoyed, taking the kayaks out and searching for Sandollar, starfish and sea urchin in the tide pools out in front of the house.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Buttonwood and on Eleuthera! We have rebuilt the barbecue grills, which were indeed due for that. We are aware that some of the golf carts need work as well. Some will be replaced in the year ahead and some refurbished. There is always work to do this close to the sea.

Buttonwood/Eleuthera adventure

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I picked this bc it was centrally located on the island. There are 3 great places to eat 2 min away & 1 all-in-one store with better prices than the other just up the road. Saying that, you'll need to plan to drive 25 min either way to get to a 'bigger' town with more options. Next time i might stay at a bigger town & just plan driving more north or south, rather than having to drive 25 min every time to go north or south. Property description was right-on. It does need to be dusted better, but everything else was clean. Would def make sure everyone in your party knows how 'remote' it is compared to other places on the island that are more in a bigger town. pool, golf carts, bikes - all the extra stuff listed was great. During the off-season - you should know that restaurant hours will be erratic - you never know when something will be open or not. Esp the smaller places to eat that might be diff to find. Get a jeep, it is needed. Google maps not always reliable - be prepared to turn around a lot (bc you missed a turn) and prepared for adventures (bring food/water as well) I'd say if you stay here, do so during peak season so more places will be open. Bring your own pickleball stuff (as stated in the description) very happy there is a washer/dryer in the condo. I felt very safe on the entire island. i've been to other bahamian islands - nobody asks you for money or trys to sell you things while you are out and about minding your own business. Friendly people for sure, but like a lot of places, they assume you have $$$, we are not loaded & needed to spend wisely. Bring lots of cash, so you don't have to use the ATM and get charged for that. when the power is out, credit cards cannot be used. some will say, "we take credit" but when you go to pay, sorry credit machine is not working, you are stuck & hopefully you have enough cash to pay. there were NOT as many power outages as I thought there would be &there was even line work being done

Beautiful location and outstanding property

We visited Buttonwood with our adult children, aged 20, 21, and 22. The condo was bigger than we expected. Lots of space to spread out. The pull out couch was surprisingly comfortable. Everything was there that we needed. Towels, beach chairs, grilling tools, blender, etc. We stayed in condo 2B which was bottom level. Beds and linens were super comfortable. We literally had no issues. The beautiful Carribbean was a 2 min walk. The Atlantic was 5 min golf cart ride away. We never saw another person while we were on the beach. Lots of activities to do while on the island. Mark, the maintenance guy for Buttonwood, is a huge help. We rented a boat for the day and enjoyed snorkeling, shelling and pig island! We also did some cliff diving at the blue hole on the north end, exploring all the caves on the island and enjoying the beach side local bars on the island. Right down the road from Buttonwood in James Cistern, they have a grocery store/liquor store that will have most everything you need (except for meat). We packed a cooler full of meat and brought meat to the island from the US. They have some other grocery stores on the island with meat but it's pricey. Also in James Cistern they have a roadside guy named Luke who makes great conch salad and he can point you in the direction of getting fresh fish from piers. WiFi worked seamlessly at the property and we used the international plan for our phones while on the island and the service worked great-no issues. All in all, we highly recommend Buttonwood for a couple or family with older children as well as the beautiful island of Eleuthera. It would also be a great spot for multiple couples/families if you wanted to try and rent other condos on the island.

The condos are furnished beautifully. The beds were so comfortable we did not want to get out of bed. The pool was always clean even after the storm and we all enjoyed swimming in it. They had kayaks and we used them several times. We also enjoyed CocoDeMama Beach, It was beautiful and only a 15 minute ride from the property. We would have liked to use the large patio but you had to purchase that separetly. My only suggestion is that you make that area available to everyone staying in the complex. We were very satisified with our stay. the property location was centrally located. The owners and managers were very professional. The noseeums attacked the entire time and nothing seemed to deter them. For that reason I don't know if I would ever go back to the island but our stay was fantastic!!!!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and that the staff took good care of you! Please don't give up on Eleuthera on account of your noseeum experience! There are occasional weeks when guests all over the island are complaining about noseeums, but they are not usually a big problem.

The property is ideally set up for functions like my party.With the lodge’s central location on the property it automatically becomes the focal point, drawing guests in.The lodge was perfectly suited to our needs. The kitchen, with dual stoves and refrigerators allowed for speed in preparation and plenty of storage.The deck of the lodge was, of course, everyone’s favourite hangout spot.All of of our guests were very pleased with their suites and the use of golf carts to access the beach.

The condo was well equipped and Sonya and Perry were very accommodating. The pool eas not heated as the heater was broken. That was disappointing as my granddaughter loves to swim....just went to the beaches instead. They are building a club house so construction was Monday-Friday. We spent days exploring the island so wasn't around during the dayNoseeums are bad at dusk and dawn.

Luxury in Paradise

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was in the perfect mid-island location providing easy access to Governor's Harbor and airport. Most restaurants and scores of very private beaches were within a reasonable drive although we never made the 1/2 hour drive north or south to the most secluded and reportedly most beautiful. I loved driving up to Buttonwood day or night and seeing our unit sitting high on a hill. The property and units showed excellent care, were clean, well stocked and even better than any written description could express. I never tired of just sitting on the deck watching the sun set into the sea. I heard there were spectacular sun rises also but will need to check those out next visit and there certainly will be one in the not too distant future.There truly are infinite water-views without leaving the porch. I encourage the drive to Tally Ocean even if not open just to experience the ocean and views. LeoRose is walking distance from condo and offers decent food, good music and beautiful sunsets. 1648 at French Leaves was probably the best meal I had but I prefer even more casual. Buccaneer Club in Governor's Harbor excellent as well as Tippy's. Returned there also several times for bar and great Calypso bands.Returned most often to Pascal's at Sky Beach Club as much for food and music as for Sammy at the bar. He remembered my name and drink after 1 visit! Not sure where to begin on beaches. Certainly the pink sands at French Leaves beautiful but I encourage setting off in a direction, turn left or right at will and eventually find a beach more beautiful than the last. I was so impressed with the marketing and information from Eleuthera Vacation Rentals that even before writing I decided that if Buttonwood was not available, I would let them select for me. I was done searching.

It was exactly what we were looking for!

We were traveling for the first time with our 10 month old and it was perfect for our needs. The pool was heated and our son loved it - we were also able to enjoy while he napped with a monitor close beside. The place had all of the amenities we needed (including laundry which was very helpful with an infant)! It was quiet and very private. There was a grocery store very near, however we did spend quite a bit of time in the car in order to go out for meals since most restaurants were a bit of a drive and to explore additional beaches. Great place, great week, unbelievably beautiful island!

The noseeums can be a problem on this island. Fortunately, they come out only at dusk, so they are not a problem during the day. The bite of a noseeum is not very bothersome, but don't make the mistake of ignoring it, or you can wind up with many itchy bumps on your legs. When you feel the first little bite, put on long pants to protect your legs. Our golf cart is not the newest, that is true. But it works and is lots of fun.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family organized a trip to Eleuthera as a surprise 70th birthday present for both of my parents. With 42 people in the total party (my parents, 15 kids plus spouses, 27 grandkids), we rented the entire property. The units and the grounds were excellent (high quality and well maintained); the staff (Sonya, Patrick, Brenda, etc.) were prompt, super friendly, professional; the pool was perfect. The location of the property convenient: 15 minutes from the Governors Harbor airport, 45 minutes from North Eleuthera Airport; Caribbean bay for paddle boarding and kayaking 500 feet away; Atlantic beach 6-8 minute golf cart ride away; a perfect Carribean beach (Cocodimama beach)a 10 minute drive away. We had an outstanding week, loved every minute of it. We had a couple of days with lazy beach time and pool time and we had a few days where we took excursions (boating trips, snorkeling, Oceans Hole, Spanish Wells, etc.). Very entertaining, particularly for a larger group. The only note of caution I would pass along is that the island is much less developed than may other Caribbean vacation spots (think resorts), which was great for us and what we were looking for. But you don't have the abundance of man made entertainment options that you would have at other places, so it depends on your preferences. But for a more laid back, authentic Caribbean experience I would highly recommend Eleuthera and there is no oother place I would stay than at Buttonwood Reserve.
