Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Not only does this two bedroom two bath condo have a great location, in a tranquil 16 unit building, but it’s within walking distance or a short cab ride to all the best restaurants, beaches, and nightspots Puerto Vallarta has to offer. You can start your day by waking up to a view of the bay from the master bedroom. Next you start up the la Pavoni espresso machine and enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony. After enjoying the view you need to decide whether to take a swim in the heated pool, walk down the steps to the beach, explore old Vallarta or do nothing at all and just stay on the balcony and read a book. I forgot to mention there is a hammock on the balcony for the required afternoon siesta.

Prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen or grill on the patio or just eat out at some of the finest restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. After dinner, hit the clubs, walk the Malecon, or relax in the living room and just watch cable TV a DVD or listen to music on your IPod or CD. If you don’t feel like cooking, we can arrange for a cook. Wireless internet is available for guests who unfortunately may have to work a bit, answer emails to tell friends how much fun they are having or just want to surf the web. The best part is you can do all of this from the balcony or anywhere else in the condo.

This condo/home has been decorated with a Mexican flair. If you’re looking for a chain hotel experience don’t bother to make this your vacation experience. Just feel sorry for those who booked their vacation spot away from old Puerto Vallarta. A/C throughout the condo and there is a laundry room if you didn’t bring enough clothes. Forgot your charger, there is an IGo that charges most laptops or cameras. Worried about your passport and money, there is a safe to store your valuables.

Twice a week maid service is included for a stay of 2 weeks or more. We can arrange more frequent cleaning service upon request. We can arrange for a local chef if you don't feel like cooking or going out.

The living area is approximately 1,500 square feet. There is one California King in the master bedroom and two double beds in the guest room.

We have great restaurant recommendations, driving adventures, fishing/whale watching, or other recreational activities. We love Puerto Vallarta and we want you to experience what we know as paradise.

Why Rex chose Romantic Zone

My wife and I love Mexico and especially Puerto Vallarta. We both enjoy the fine dinning and the charm of old Vallarta. We chose Estrella del Mar because of the large patio and view of the bay. We searched all over PV for a vacation home and once we saw the building and condo we fell in love. You couldn't ask for a better location. We like the tranquil, small building atmosphere and close walk to the beach and old town.

What makes this condo unique

Before we even unpack, we take a short walk to Los Muertos Beach and have a couple of Margaritas at La Palapa. This wonderful restaurant is right on the beach and a wonderful spot to see the first sunset of our vacation. I've made a good friend with a local fishing boat captain and I always make sure I go fishing or whale watching when I visit.

Beautiful Condo

  • 5 of 5

Very beautiful condo in a good location. Short walk to the beach and the downtown area. Friendly residents in the building. I wish I could have stayed longer. I hope to come back again.

Great Stay at a Great Condo

  • 4 of 5

For our 9th trip to PV in 10-years we chose Rex's place and were delighted! It was super duper clean and comfy and decorated in a whimsical Mexican style that gives you everything you need for a short or extended stay, in a way that immerses you into the culture. Every place you look there is something fun to look at or appreciate without being over done. Rex was very communicative before and during our stay.

The apartment has a brand new full size washer/dryer, which came in handy mid-trip, as well as a new dishwasher. All appliances were spotlessly clean and WiFi was adequate for work or personal needs. Beds were comfortable and we loved the European shower in the master suite. Having 2 full bathrooms really was a blessing and we were able to shower one after another without losing hot water or pressure. The apartment has a huge deck with a great view and a big table and chairs where we were greeted by hummingbirds with our morning coffee. It would be great if it had lounges to take a siesta in the afternoon because the hammock isn't for everyone. The building was safe and secure with cameras and gates but it didn’t make you feel imprisoned. It is also beautifully decorated especially by the pool, which was a convenient touch on the days we didn't want to schlepp to the beach.

We stayed in this part of PV so we could be close to our friends staying at the Garza Blanca resort but its also just up the hill from the romantic zone, shopping, bars and restaurants. The location is best served with a car or taxis if you are not up for the steep uphill walk. We were traveling with my elderly mother which made the commute impossible by foot. We rent a car every trip anyway to take day trips north to Sayulita and San Pancho and the location was convenient to jump on the 200 hwy. The bus stops right at the bottom of the hill if you want to use public transportation.

Our only complaints were with the shopping service by the property manager. The list we provided weeks in advance was only partially provided and not there when we arrived as promised. Lastly, the parking spot is very small and tight with the other tenant parked there and made getting in and out challenging even for an experienced driver. Small annoyances with no impact on our trip.

Overall if you want to be near downtown with a good vantage point to public transportation for day trips, in a well appointed, clean comfortable and adorable place, we highly recommend Rex’s place.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful condo located on the south end of town, close to all of the restaurants, and beaches. You can walk or take a short cab ride for 50 pesos to most everything in the area. Condo has everything you could possible need, great kitchen, and has washer & dryer as well. Beautiful Mexican art work throughout, and a great view of the bay...there's also a decent guitar, which as a guitarist myself, I really enjoyed, needs new strings though...

Amazing condo! Close to Blue Chairs and Olas Altos restaurants and nightlife!

Amazing condo with lots of space and a spectacular view!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

My partner and I travelled with our friend down to Puerto Vallarta in mid-March of 2016. First of all let me say that Rex is absolutely the best in helping you with anything you may need. The condo is wonderful! Has an amazing, large terrace overlooking the pool with the one of the best ocean views we've ever had in Puerto Vallarta (3rd time there for my me and my partner). It's well decorated and comes with everything you would need. We used the washer, dryer, drank the tap water, sat out of the terrace for meals, drinks, met all the wonderful neighbors and guests by the pool area. At night most people would head out for dinner and drinks and when we got home by 10pm the resort was always calm and quiet. The pool area was cleaned daily and I enjoyed the fact that the condos were in a gated area, although is looks extremely safe in the neighborhood. Everyone is wondering about the stairs and distance to the beach, right? Yes, there are quite a few stairs to walk down to the beach, which were no problem (my partner and I thought they were quite interesting especially just before the beach area). The beach is about a five minute walk directly down the stairs and the fabulous restaurants and nightlife on Olas Altos about 5-7 minutes away. I would definitely recommend taking a cab back up which we were getting for around US$5, well worth it and they are abundant. However, if you're in shape then walk back up!! Great exercise!! Overall, my partner and I, both 59 yrs loved the condo, and the great variety of people there! Our friend loved the place too, but had some difficulties. I don't think you should be trying to walk back up the stairs when you are 75 years old and he found the secondary bedroom, with double paned windows a tad noisy at times (he should have closed them, put on the celing fan and the air conditioning). lol

We didn't want to go home

  • 5 of 5

This condo was everything we hoped for. It is our forth trip to Puerto Vallarta and this is the nicest condo we have ever stayed in. My husband and two of our friends spent a week here. It is located in a beautifully maintained secure building. What we enjoyed was the peace and quiet of its location. We stayed right in old town before and we found the noise from the late night clubs too much for us. We took taxis and we walked into town. Walk was easy as there are steps right from the property to the road. The walk was about 10 minutes. A taxi was 50 pesos which is around $3 US dollars. Our bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. The condo has blackout shades which are nice on vacation as we like to sleep in. We are already looking at dates for next year to come back and stay here.

Beautiful Place, with a tonne of space. And the view!

  • 4 of 5

The three of us thoroughly enjoyed this two bedroom two bath accommodation. its location was a bit off-putting; up the side of a mountain. We, the three of us usually walked down for the day, or a part thereof, but two of us did not walk back up, they took a cab, which the owner said was not expensive The one that did walk back up said it was a tiring experience, and he only did it twice in the ten days they were there.

However, because of its location the view was spectacular. One of us did his exercise every morning on the expansive balcony, when only the birds were awake.

I would certainly give this apartment a four star ( out of five). There was one problem ; The night time noise in the back bedroom was rather loud at times, which tended to waken the sleeper regularly. I don't know what the solution would be: If one closed the window, the noise was not appreciably decreased. If one closed the window and turned on the A/C, one was only exchanging one noise for another, plus adding the cost of the A/C. And missing the breeze coming from the front of the unit, because the door to the bedroom would have to be closed. After a while the noise was bearable, but just; and every once in a while it would awaken the sleeper.

Other than those two minor inconveniences we were very pleased with everything. I , and my two friends would recommend this accommodation.
