An absolutely one-of-a-kind location! We loved our stay and especially enjoyed the incredible sunrises and sunsets. The place was beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what we were hoping for. We had a wonderful time and would happily come back again.

Top of the Mill is an incredibly unique property. If you are looking for solitude, mountain views, amazing sunsets and alpenglow, this is the place for you. The dirt driveway of 5 miles does require an AWD vehicle but it only takes about 25 minutes and there are wildflowers lining the way and moose! The kitchen is one of the most equipped of all the places we have stayed. We brought along my niece and nephew who loved the game room with nightly ping pong. At night, the lack of light pollution also makes for stars galore and the milky way is visible. Unique and amazing!

This property, Top of the Mill in Maine, is a once in a lifetime experience that you MUST see to believe. If you are looking for something extraordinary, look no further than this VRBO! We stayed recently for our 10 year anniversary and are still in awe of the property and it's mountain. While the inside of the home is fully stocked with great amenities, including a gym, a game room, a full kitchen and pantry, lovely linens and soaps...the outside of this home is what will take your breath away. With every step throughout the house, you are looking out at an amazing view, the home offers 360 degree uninterrupted views of countless mountains and ranges. The seclusion this home offers, on 300 acres of undeveloped mountain was amazing to take in during our sunny September long weekend. I was thankful to the attentive hosts, as the property is unique and something we were not used to! Any question was answered quickly, which gave us a great peace of mind. To note: We got donuts at Cliffords, lunch at Bear Belly's, and drove to Rangeley to stop at the Furbish Brew House (outstanding views) and Saddleback Mountain. Our recommendation: Do all of your outings in one trip, you wont want to leave this property unless you have to!

Absolute perfection! Completely off-grid and isolated to enjoy the tranquility and beauty around you. Hosts are extremely kind and responsive, and their little touches with check-in are well thought out and generous. Wildlife, hiking, adventure, and discovery abound. Our family had a wonderful time and very much look forward to rebooking here in the future.

Amazingly special location with 1st class accomendations. Stunning views everywhere you look. The logging road to the house was a non issue for us. We have a new Tundra the made the trip smooth. Every trip I cut time off. We saw a beaver at one of the bridges working on his mud hut. Thank you to the friendly owners. We will be back!!!!

We booked this stay for a weekend away to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We like to be away from people and neighbors and it is so rare to find a place that actually fits the bill in that regard. This place delivered. The drive up to the house is a long gravel road with wildflowers, tall trees, and brooks. When you get to the top, the view is one of the best I've ever experienced. It feels like you've hiked to the top of a mountain, but you are actually standing next to a house that has a fantastic kitchen, cozy couches, and a perfect master bedroom. The living area, sun room, and master bedroom have views of nothing but mountains, trees, and sky for miles. While we spent one day hiking and splashing around in the pond, the rest of our time was spent reading, napping, and taking in the views. Our only regret was not bringing binoculars. The light on the mountains throughout the day changes the view by the hour. Joe was helpful and responsive leading up to and during the trip. As we were leaving we were already planning when we could find time to come back and see the views in the fall and winter.

From the start of booking our trip, we appreciated the owners communication and the welcome manual that was emailed ahead of time, to understand this unique property. As a planner, it was nice to have a clear idea of what we needed to bring, but we soon realized they had everything already there! Fully stocked and wonderfully laid out kitchen, including coffee filters, paper towels, and seasonings, to all the linens you could need- even throw blankets for enjoying the super comfortable couches. This home has been so thoughtfully renovated. We loved that there were multiple areas to enjoy together or the quiet nooks to spread out (with great books or magazines if you forgot yours). The bedroom layout was wonderfully planned, decorated and comfortable. The 3 season-porch was the perfect spot to enjoy cocktails and beautiful sunsets after a day of hiking and exploring. We were so grateful to be able to bring our dogs to enjoy this property and they loved running around the trails and swimming in the streams. Renting an off-grid property was something we had never done, but we found it very easy to follow the requirements for our chance to stay away from the chaos and enjoy the incredible views and wildlife.Words and pictures will never be able to truly express the appreciation we had for the feel of this property, so we encourage those who love nature, time with family & friends, and a well thought out, one-of-kind getaway to book this place sooner rather than later.

One of a Kind!-Unforgettable

All I can say is wow! This place is incredible! Pics do not do this place justice. Literal 360 degree views in a modern home. I can't believe we were out in the middle of the woods with these view but also with a fully modern house. We absolutely enjoyed our time. Anyone who wants to get away and decompress from the day to day needs to come here. You don't realize how much you need it until you are here. Sitting outside and watching the shooting stars was one of the most peaceful nights I've ever had. Everyone couldn't stop raving about it. We also shot up to Rangely which is a great little town and rented some side by sides which was a blast! Definitely come with you supplies and food as you wont want to run out if you can avoid it or intentially going somewhere. The driveway really is 5.5 miles. I didn't really believe it until we got here but the hosts instructions where very helpful and easy to follow. We will most certainly be back! We won't forget this place. I have a feeling it will come up time and time again over the years. What a trip!

Magical from the moment we got on property!!! The view was just as described by the owner and other reviewers, stunning. The property itself had everything we needed and the host was thoughtful with what was supplied, so that we felt cared for from the start! We had decided to bring all our food and stay on property throughout the stay, which was easy and enjoyable. We walked down the driveway each morning in hopes of seeing a moose but we must have just missed one, since we did she fresh tracks! We drove down about 3 miles from the house and hiked a trail up part of Saddleback Mountain that was well marked and maintained. The sunsets and sunrises were a real treat from anywhere on the property but our favorite part was spending time in the spacious and comfortable living room, basking in the alpenglow as the sun went down, playing cards and reading. There is a lovely little TV nook for post dinner movie watching and popcorn eating. The hosts were responsive from the moment we booked and followed up to ensure that we enjoyed our stay after checkout. We will certainly return and I know I’ll been hard pressed to find another VRBO property that feels this peaceful, isolated, and recharging.Thank you for a wonderful time for our whole family!!! And an extra big thank you from our basset hound, who LOVED it!

A wilderness adventure with luxury accommodations. Awesome. The location of the property is amazing. Surrounded by beauty, the hardest decision is which direction to look. Sunrises, sunsets, your own viewing tower, comfortable rooms with views, top of the line appliances and fully stocked with everything you need. Truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return again. Relax, hike, play games - just an excellent place to hang or use as a base. The hosts are great communicators and truly want you to enjoy your time. Five stars plus.

The price point for this property is unbeatable. The views are breathtaking and the air is just crisp. The host is extremely communicative and does a great job with the house there’s tons of appliances games and spots to sleep. We hiked to the pond on the property and it was one of the most surreal experiences I’ve had. 10/10 recommend esp. if you love the great outdoors
