Steinhatchee has Restaurants, cafe's and food trucks for any type of dining you may be craving. If you have provided yourself with a catch from the beautiful gulf waters and want to prepare your own, the galley kitchen is equipped with all the utensil and dishes if you choose to eat in.
The Pelican Roost offers an open porch for morning coffee or an afternoon cool beverage. You can always watch for the Bald Eagles trying to forge lunch out of the small lake across the road.

Pelican house

The place had a old moth ball smell. Had to buy spray to clear out yhe smell. Not sure if it was from the hurricane flood year prior. Otherwise the was as stated in Vrbo. Plenty of room for 8 people.

Nice place

Down in Steinhatchee for a weekend of fishing with friends. The house was clean but there was a strong smell like mothballs in the house. Not sure why except maybe an exterminator had been by because saw several dead roaches on the floor around the house. House was clean other than that. Nice porch outside and plenty of parking.Texted owner a couple times but never got a response back.

I really hate giving bad reviews but had the previous renters given more honest reviews I would have looked for a different place. The realtor who I was in communication with was amazing. The AC didn’t work when we arrived and in less than 15 minutes someone arrived with window units and the air was fixed the next day. The hot water heater works great! Always hot water!!!House smelled like a dirty men’s gas station bathroom mixed with dog pee. We got a diffuser and oils to attempt to make the smell tolerable. Carpet-gross. Kitchen trash can- gross. Beds- terrible. Within 20 minutes of checking in things began falling apart. I accidentally bumped the master bedroom closet doorknob and it fell off, used the toilet paper and the entire thing fell off the wall, went to dry my hands and the entire towel rack fell off the wall, one of my children sat in the kitchen chair and fell through. The shower head is missing in one of the bathrooms and it’s like taking a shower under a water hose. This place could be a great place to stay close to the boat ramp and nice restaurants but it definitely needs deep cleaned and many things fixed before renting to another family. We will not be renting this place again but will be in contact with the realtor for other suggestions of places that are nicer than what I rented for our two week vacation.
